Chapter 157: Capturing Missa

I moved through the dark streets as night settled in more deeply. I left the warehouse behind, all locked up, and moved quickly. I thought about talking to Cassandra but decided against adding the Bloody Candies into the mix.

One thing I didn't need was people to escape and for me to have to hunt them down through a city. I smiled a predatory smile as I moved and quickly made it into Bloody Candies territory. The territory that I owned now in this city was large, and I was on the wrong end of the territory. I moved through the city as quickly as possible while not being seen. It was a simple feat when at this time, most men and women in this part of the city were beginning to settle down for the night.

I opened my system while I moved, thinking about what I was going to do once I got there.

I frowned at the lack of points that had come my way. Stacy was almost stagnant, and I didn't know what that meant. There were too many mysteries regarding the system and not even close to enough answers. I saw that I barely used any energy that the system liked to call my mana in that last fight. It is true that I never tapped or even showed my power to those weaklings. In the warehouse, ensuring no one escaped would be another matter altogether.

The biggest question was the number of these slavers and their strength. I did not want to level up at this point, but I wouldn't mind too much since I got the major things I needed. Instead, I just wanted to figure out the point system more and how the experience system worked. Unfortunately, I couldn't find some B rankers that would allow me to kill them to figure out.

My mind continued to wander as I dodged into an alleyway when a group of my gang members patrolled the streets. Cassandra seemed to have seen it fit to patrol the streets with the recent attacks and the subsequent lull in the battles.

I didn't know, but I moved out behind them and leaped quickly back up to the roofs of places when it would kill line of sight for any city guards as well. It did not take too long to get to the docks area, and I walked down the alleyways towards where I believe Alex told me it was. Soon I was in the warehouse district of the docks, and I was looking around.

I was definitely slightly lost while looking around, and night settled in, but the taverns were still a little rowdy with the river sailors and some of the dock hands that had a little extra coin for a whore or drink. I didn't care as I looked around and eventually found the shipping company Alex talked about, The Rainbow seas. A stupid name to call a shipping company on a river, but that was their name. I looked it over, and I could see some activity around it, and I wondered if there were slaves inside at this time. I would bet there were since there was still movement inside, which led me to question if I should raid the company.

I frowned and moved passed it in the direction of the nearby warehouses. It was already starting to get late, and I wanted to raid the warehouse while the boss was there; otherwise, I would lose the information, and going off just a first name wasn't practical.

Quickly I moved through the warehouses looking around, seeing the damage from the fight in the distance I had with that other B ranker. Seeing all the damage from his explosion was something I hadn't considered, and it was a stark reminder that I needed to learn more ways to use my energy other than using it on my weapons.

I sighed, looking for a warehouse that had some noise coming out of it. I passed several until I saw some damage to a large warehouse that looked old. The damage looked more recent, but the warehouse definitely needed upkeep. It stood out from the others, and I wondered how the planks of wood that damaged the structure in large splinters reached this distance as I remembered the explosion more as an implosion at the end.

As I got close, I heard some yelling that I couldn't quite make out, and I found they had left a side door open into the warehouse. I was about to slip in when I noticed a man just a couple of feet leaning against the wall. HIs sighed as he smoked something. I wasn't sure about the smoking habits in this world and only some drugs I knew, but I couldn't care at this moment. If that door made the slightest noise, he would notice. I moved close and took out a knife twirling it in my fingers before finally getting a sturdy grip on it.

The man never even knew what hit him as I dove out from the night and cut off his airway by tightly grabbing his neck. I felt my muscles flex in my arm as I crushed his throat before I used my knife, and I stabbed him in the eye and deep into the brain, killing him instantly. I lowered his body quickly before looking at the system.

I frowned, looking at the twenty experiences, and I couldn't help but wonder why I got twenty experience for that compared to the five I got for a lot of these types of people. It was like the system gave random experience points every time just to keep you guessing. It didn't bother me for long as I moved toward the door and left behind the dead body, slowly leaking blood from his eye socket behind me.

The door creaked slightly, and as I entered inside, I could hear that yelling again. "I don't think you numbskulls fucking GET IT!" A woman's voice raised from loud to outright screaming. I couldn't hear her explanation to whomever she was yelling at a second before as it turned into muffled talking.

I looked around the large warehouse and realized the main reason I could hear her was that the office was above me now. About six men were walking around, and I could see them working with empty cages. There were bowls and a cooking station with the basics to feed slaves and plenty of shackles which made me smile. Maybe I would go raid that company since they had a full load of slaves on hand from these people. It also simplified my job here as I didn't have to worry about any slaves giving away my position.

"Fuck, Missa is giving Phil some trouble this time." One of the slavers said, looking up at the second-floor office. "I heard they fucked up and got a bunch of the trapping crew killed trying to grab a Tiger-kin today."

I moved to keep barely in the shadows as the men worked by lantern light, moving the empty cages to the room's edges. "Yeah, I bet the client will be pissed when they hear about it as well. I heard this one was 'Special ordered' her. They are not going to be happy if this Tiger-kin jumps cities."

I snuck closer to the first guy who talked, and I could see that he was about to put down the cage he was carrying, so I ducked further into the darkness. "Yeah, But, Where is Billy? He went out for a smoke to break a minute or two ago."

I paused, and I hoped they wouldn't go check on them. The guy grabbed another cage as the second guy chuckled. "He's having a long smoke leaf break. No need to bug him as we are already almost finished with about three more trips left; then we can give him shit or take some of his coin for not pulling his weight later." The second chuckled just as I reached the first guy who talked. My arm snaked around his neck, and my knife entered his eye, killing him instantly again.

I moved quickly as the others that were not talking and the second guy who was talking still were unaware. Soon they would be, though, and I didn't want to raise the alarm as I used energy to close the distance on the guy, and his eyes widened as he noticed me just as I closed on him. My knife went up through his throat into his head, pinning his mouth shut and killing him. I pulled out the knife and let the body tumble onto the floor behind me.

It wasn't until the last worker moving a cage that they finally noticed a lack of people moving cages, but by then, it was too late as I crushed his throat and stabbed him several times in the chest. I stood tall as I cleared the warehouse and smiled. Stealth was the best way about this, and I could even hear the muffled talking of Missa and the other person in the office. I found a cloak they used probably to keep their identities secret and pulled it over me. I smiled and moved towards the stairs leaving the iron smell of blood behind me.

I walked to the door and felt blood and leather armor on my skin. I pulled out my sadist-bladed whip into my other hand, keeping the throwing knife that I had not been using in my other hand. I walked up to the door, knocked simply, and both the muffled voices stopped.

"Who is it?" The woman's voice that I thought was Missa asked.

"Billy seems to be missing Boss!" I called out, not disgusting my voice with a grin.

"Who the fuck are you!" She asked a second later.

I kicked open the door in response, and I stepped inside. Both gawked at me, and I felt some mana in Missa start to gather, but she wasn't a B rank. I felt let down, and I turned to the man, and I gathered my energy and sent it into the throwing knife and towards him.

The man was dead before he even knew it, and the knife took hold of his head and brought his head body with it pinning it to the wall. Missa stared, and her mana stopped gathering as she realized something.

"You are a B ranker." She said.

"Are you Missa?" I asked with a smile pulling down my hood, and her face fell as she saw my ears.

I could see the hope in her expression die, and I saw her hand move. It was no action against me, so I moved and appeared before her before she could act. I put away my weapons and pinned her against the wall, no longer allowing her to move on her own action, while I smiled an inch from her face. "Now, now," I tutted, "You shouldn't kill yourself, Missa."

She spat in my face, and I knew she wasn't going to say anything. "Oh, Missa," I said, my voice full of pity. "You really should be answering my questions. Then you could die easily like the rest of your minions. But now," I shook my head, "I think I will have some fun with you," I told her, and her eyes widened, "Just as Alex when you get to see him." I could see the recognition in her eyes just before I punched her in the stomach so hard she coughed, and then I pinched her neck on the nerve just hard enough to render her unconscious.

I set the woman I believed was Missa since she was bossing everyone around, and I looked around the office. I grinned at everything around and the large bag of gold coins. There was also an open safe, and I grinned. Obviously, she was working on some things when the bad news came, and I began to loot.

Other than the large bag of gold I found with a couple of hundred gold in it, there was also a black book with accounting, and I grinned as I realized that this gold came from those slaves. The most interesting thing was something I found in the black book from two days ago related to myself.

"I was approached by the CLD today and asked to enslave a Tiger-kin that is a Slave trainer. She paid fifty gold coins as a deposit with a promise of two hundred more just for the capture of this woman. Upon delivery, we would get another five hundred gold coins. This is more than normal, and I couldn't help but make the deal despite the request that no one but the boys and me get to do the capturing to know about it. I bet this is another noble game, and I couldn't help but take the gold coins. I really do hope this doesn't get me caught up in something our company cannot handle. Still, the gold is too good to pass up."

It seemed that Missa used this book for accounting and as a sort of journal on her impressions of deals. There was a lot of information here but nothing about the other employees.

Too bad.

Time for me to go through as I have a new toy to play with tonight. I grabbed a sack full of documents, and things I thought would be good to keep, and I tied Missa up and gagged her, putting her in another bag that they kept around for slaves. It was made of fabric not dense enough to stop air from coming in but slightly stronger than normal.

The woman I believed was Missa was knocked out, and I would feel any movement before she woke up.

I headed back out into the quiet streets as the darkness was already settled in, and the moon had already passed the sky's peak and began falling onto the horizon.
