(Rebekah Pov.)
I was the second daughter of Mikael and Esther, the younger sister of Freya, Finn, Elijah, Kol, and the elder sister of Henrik and the younger half-sister of Klaus.
An Original Vampire, the fifth of six children born to Esther Mikaelson and Mikael Agnarsson, the sixth of seven children born to my mother, also the wife of Marcellus Mikaelson (nee Gerard) and by him was the mother of Nikolaus Mikaelson.
My Father and Mother were wealthy landowners from the Kingdom of Norway in the 10th century. Mother gave birth to Freya, Finn, and Elijah in the Old World, but Freya was sent away with Mother's sister, aunt Dahlia as payment for Mother's fertility spell (which was later covered up by Esther, who claimed Freya had died of the plague).
Mother and Father were so devastated that they decided to follow the advice of mother's witch mentor Ayana, who told them of a mystical land (the New World), where its natives were strong and healthy.
We then settled in what is now Mystic Falls, Virginia, where Mother and Father had four more children; Niklaus (who was secretly fathered by a werewolf named Ansel), Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik. Myself, like the rest of my siblings, was born a witch, but I did not tap into my powers prior to being turned into a vampire in my teens.
In the older days, a younger version of me in the late 10th century used to happily play in the woods with all of my siblings as we chased each other around and tackled one another.
Once during a stormy night, Niklaus, once a lovable brother stayed awake with me and gave me a wooden carved knight, as the thunder and lightning scared me. He comforted me and stayed beside me all night, stating that he will always protect me. My brother used to be the kindest one of us all before it all went to ruin and he changed.
Niklaus was once violently beaten by his father Mikael for allegedly stealing his blade, unaware of the fact that it was really me who had secretly taken it. Feeling guilty for the pain I had caused him, I treated him with extra kindness for weeks afterwards to make up for it, though Klaus didn't learn the truth about my involvement until many centuries later.
Just like any other family, we fought at silly things but we loved each other more than anything in the world. Our new home far from the cursed Old-world was a blessing for us…..or so we thought.
One day, Father wouldn't stop viciously beating Klaus with a whip, seeing my brother in pain I gathered all the courage I could and threatened him to stop with a sword in my trembling hands.
That night, I even tried to kill father in his sleep for mistreating Niklaus, and would have gone through with it had Elijah not stopped me.
Like the rest of my siblings, I was equally afraid of Father, though, as one of his favourite children, I never was a victim of his abuse. But whenever he hit Nik, I couldn't control my anger.
Nik, Henrik and I, we were very close to each other, we would play together, protect each other, stand up for each other and cared the most for each other.
Days went by.….
While living in the New World, we lived in peace with the werewolves in their village for over two decades. However, during a Full Moon, it all changed when Niklaus and Henrik snuck out to watch the men from their village transform into wolves.
However, as the sun began to rise, I saw Niklaus carrying Henrik's lifeless body back into the village, and he tearfully confessed that one of the wolves had mauled Henrik to death.
Father and mother were heart-broken; Henrik was their youngest child and also the one who everyone carried after. He was a quiet one, very curious and smart, his learning speed was abnormally high and he loved hanging out with Nik.
The bond between Nik and Henrik was the strongest out of all of their siblings; Nik loved his little brother while Henrik idolized Klaus as a person.
Not wanting to go through the pain of losing another child ever again, our mother, Esther decided to tap into Dark Magic to cast an adapted version of Qetsiyah's immortality spell, calling upon the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree for immortality.
That night, unbeknownst to me and my siblings, we drank wine laced with the blood of Tatia, a Doppler-ganger at dinner and afterwards, Father drove his sword through our hearts. After we awakened, Father forced us to feed on the blood a local villager in order to complete our transition into vampires.
Though the feeling of becoming a vampire felt as being euphoric, I and my siblings quickly began to realize that our new gifts had its weaknesses as well: the flowers that grew at the base of the white oak tree, Vervain, burned us and prevented us from compelling our human neighbours; the sun burned our skin, making it impossible for us to walk in the daylight until our mother enchanted rings to protect us; we were unable to enter the homes of our neighbours without an invitation.
The worst of our side effects was our insatiable thirst for human blood, which persisted long after we had transitioned into vampires and eventually forced us to learn self-control.
After Henrik's death, after becoming vampires; we swore to stay together forever and take care of each other. Niklaus, Elijah and I, we swore to each other that they would never turn on each other and stick together as one, always and forever thus the eternal vow was established.
"Together as one, always and forever"
While getting to know our weaknesses we realized that wood carved from the white oak tree would be fatal to us if stabbed into our hearts, so we burned the tree to the ground for our protection.
Thinking that things could get no worse.
The revelation of Mother's infidelity and Klaus' true parentage lead to our mother's death. Father forced our mother to seal Nik's true parentage with a spell, he pleaded for father and mother to stop and leave him be but his entire plea fell on deaf ears.
Feeling anguished and pained from this betrayal, Nik tore out our mother's heart and lied to us saying Mikael did it.
We ran and ran, escaping from a raging father and a mourning husband who tracked us for centuries, whenever we settled at a place, he would come and destroy everything we ever knew, ever loved, and ever cared for.
The story went on and on until finally after 2-millennium, we once again united. Nik fathered a child, Hope Mikaelson, Nik's beacon, his path out of the darkness.
After running from home with my brother, I met a young kid named Marcel Gerard. Nik saved him from being assaulted by a horseman and took him in, he was the one who named him Marcel and taught him everything he knew. Elijah and I, we thought of his as Nik's redemption.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Young Marcel: "I'm gonna marry you someday."
Rebekah: "I would never marry someone who couldn't beat me in a duel."
Young Marcel: "Rebekah Mikaelson. Come to teach me another lesson?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcel: "Last time I saw you, Royal Street was burning and you all were fleeing the city from your daddy."
Rebekah: "I thought you were dead."
Marcel: "You never looked back to find out."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcel: (To Klaus, in a flashback) "I like her. And I think it's mutual, but I haven't done anything about it. I wouldn't, not –"
Klaus: "And you won't. She's my family."
Marcel: "You said I was family. I have begged you to turn me into a vampire."
Klaus: "And I told you, I will turn you when you're ready. You go near Rebekah again, and you never will be."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebekah: (To Marcel) "If I find out you know where Elijah is, you needn't fear Klaus – I'll kill you myself."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebekah: (To Marcel, in a flashback) "My brother will kill you."
Marcel: "Then I'll die smiling."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcel: "Hello to you, too. Cami, Rebekah – Rebekah, Cami."
Rebekah: "I see you still have a thing for blondes."
Rebekah: "Tell me where Elijah is. Tell me where he is or I will kill you!"
Marcel: "No, you won't."
Rebekah: "Perhaps you're right. But I will kill her."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Klaus: "It's 1887, Rebekah. You've been daggered for 52 years."
Klaus: "And don't worry about Marcel. I presented him with a choice: he could choose to undagger you and live out the rest of his human days with you, or I could turn him instead, as he's always wanted, in exchange for giving you up."
Rebekah: "No. He wouldn't do that to me."
Klaus: "Oh, but he did."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcel: "Welcome back, Rebekah. You were out for quite a while."
Rebekah: "Where am I? How'd I get here?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcel: (To Rebekah, about Cami) "You trying to be cute, inviting her here?"
Rebekah: "I think she's darling. I can tell you fancy her pure heart. Perhaps I'll feed it to you?"
Marcel: "Hmm. Jealousy looks good on you, Bekah."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cami: (To Marcel) "And Rebekah, she's one of your donors?"
Marcel: "She's an old friend."
Cami: "Can't be that old. She looks younger than me."
Marcel: "You'd be surprised. I was a kid when I met her."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebekah: "You're following me."
Marcel: "Maybe you're just in my way."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebekah: "I'm supposed to believe that after a century, suddenly you're willing to risk death at his hands to be with me?"
Marcel: "I want to defend my home. I want to be free, and if that means I get to be with you, all the more reason to bury him."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcel: "Rebekah, twice in one night, to what do I owe the pleasure."
Rebekah: "Call me old fashioned, but I believe farewells are best in person."
Marcel: "You got Elijah back and now you're both gonna tuck-tail and run, Smart girl. Have a nice life."
Rebekah: "He's staying and I'm not running, I'm disembarking a sinking ship."
Marcel: "People have been saying this city's been sinking since I was a boy...it ain't going anywhere. But hey, how about one for the road?"
Rebekah: "Why, so that you could liquor me up and convince me to stay?"
Marcel: "Why else did you come here?"
Rebekah: "I came to say goodbye."
Marcel: "Then say it..."
Rebekah: "I've been away from this home for almost 100 years and you haven't changed a thing in my bedroom."
Marcel: "I guess I was holding out hope that you'd come back to it. Although, I imagine it's not as comfortable as those beds at the Palace Royale."
Rebekah: "It's plenty comfortable."
Rebekah: "Well now you can have whatever you want. Come with me."
Marcel: "And go where Rebekah?"
Rebekah: "Where ever we want to. We can build a home together. We can leave behind Klaus, and this city, and those orphans Annie vampires."
Marcel: "Those orphan-Annie vampires are my family and this city is my home."
Rebekah: "It was my home too once. I left..."
Marcel: "You ran. I stayed. This empire, it thrives because of me, and you want me to run? A man does not run from his home."
Rebekah: "I have lived a lot longer than you, Marcellus! I have seen kings rise and fall, and if there's one thing that I know to be true it is that no matter how big your empire becomes, it is nothing if you have no one to share it with. You want New Orleans? Have it. I won't be here to stop you."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebekah: "I was thinking. My mother was consecrated and buried here. She is forever bound to this land, but not me. I'm finally free, and you?"
Marcel: "Your brothers came into town like they own this place like they own me. They took my home, my people, everything...I can't just run away."
Rebekah: "I'm not asking you to. I'm not a fool. I see how much you love this city, and I am not the kind of girl who likes to share."
(Rebekah begins to walk away, but stops and turns around)
Rebekah: "I do wish you had finished building our home. Even if we never set foot inside, it would have been nice if there was something beautiful left standing after all of this."
(Rebekah continues to turn around but Marcel grabs her and kisses her)
Rebekah: "Goodbye, Marcel Gerard. Do try to stay alive."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebekah: "Marcel, enough with the suspense."
Marcel: "It'll be worth it, trust me."
(He removes her blindfold)
Rebekah: "What is this?"
Marcel: "I call it, four objects and a question. The first object..."
(He pulls back a cloth to reveal a wedding dress)
Rebekah: "I remember that. And saying it was hideous."
Marcel: "Yes, but, your eyes said buy me, so I went back later and did. Next..."
(He pulls back a cloth to reveal an outline of a house)
Rebekah: "The house you designed."
Marcel: "For you. For us. Now, we can build it anywhere you like. It might not be quite up to code but..."
Rebekah: "It is beautiful."
(He pulls back a sheet to show her sword)
Rebekah: "My sword."
Marcel: "I told you when I was a child I was going to marry you one day. Right after our first duel, remember?"
Rebekah: "And I said I would never marry a man who couldn't best me."
Marcel: "Yeah, that's the thing. The last few years have taught me something. I don't wanna best you; I don't wanna be ahead of you, or behind you. I want us side-by-side. And the moment I realized that I went in search of this. The fourth object. Which leads me to my question? Rebekah Mikaelson. Delicate as lace, elegant as a fine home, tough as polished steel, and love of all my lives, will you marry me?"
(Rebekah is crying and can't speak)
Marcel: "Yeah, I figured you'd be a mess by now. Which is why I made this part easy? If you say..."
(Holds up card with "yes")
"Or if you say..."
(Holds up card with "no")
"Should be a pretty easy call..."
(Holds up the "yes" car)
Rebekah: "It should be. Except..."
Marcel: "Please don't say the family."

Remembering those old memories always brought a smile on my face, everything worked out in the end, I got my wish to live and die as a Human, courtesy of my brother Niklaus. I married Gerard and we took the cure, becoming humans once again, we enjoyed our lives and died fulfilled.
I thought it was finally time for me to rest, I imagined darkness as I closed my eyes but a strangely familiar voice woke me up.
"Rebekah..."
