How Many Times?

Heavens so bright, I was blinded

Looking skyward to watch the clouds

None was there, but flaxen lights

What do I lack? Why can't I decide?

Downward was the placid ocean

Reflecting the colors of the earth's umbrella

A kind of serenity that's hard to obtain

I was lost, I was watching, nature's enigma

Thin air by the summit, regrets of my vow

Pride was the sun that told me I'm right

A knock by the door, knowing one's not allowed

Coursing to the north, a river of denials

I was not right, this was not my fight

How many times would I try to reach out?

I thought I'm correct, I'm bringing the change

But I had to accept, I'm not that great
