CHAPTER 14

Joyfar and his friend named Bamide, they used to call him Bami; they are in living room when Joyce came out from her room, wore long brown cloth that reach her kneels with a blue bag.

"Good afternoon brother Bami" she greeted.

"Afternoon, how are you?"

"Am good brother"

"That is good to hear'

"Brother am going out"

"With who?" He asked.

"With Olu sir"

"Okay, don't stay long"

"I heard you, bye brother Bami"

"Oh!!! Bye take care" he said and she left, door opened and closed, Joyfar stood up.

"What do i offer you?"

"Nothing, am okay for now" he said.

"Okay then" sat down but his leg on the table.

"Where is mummy?" He asked.

"She have went to her friend's party"

"Daddy too?" Took a cup of wine on the table.

"They went together" he answered.

"Let me call the house maid to bring another wine for you"

"I am okay with this one, don't use to drink wine like that, if is soft drinks I can take like three bottles in a day"

"Okay then no problem"

"What you are telling me on phone, i don't hear it clearly the place that am the network was bad"

"What is that, i don't remember"

"About a girl in your company" he remind him.

"Okay, oh!!! Is Jinali" he sat properly.

"I don't know her name" he said.

"Her name is Jinali"

"Okay, am here now and hearing, happened between you and her?

"That girl i realy have interest in her, i love her"

"Told her rather than telling me"

"I have tell her but she said no way" took a wine.

"Why did she said no way"

"She said that she have a boyfriend and she love him" said with lower voice.

"You don't tell her how you feel for her"

"I told her but she said that she can't leave her boyfriend for anybody or cheat on him"

"This is so funny, how did she sure that the boy called her boyfriend loves her" he laughed.

"She said that he love her and her too love him".

"You know what you will do?"

"I don't known, what is it?"

"Give her sack letter"

"When i give her shack letter, how will I get her"

"Listen to me" he said and faced him.

"Okay, am listen" he reposition the way he sat

"When you give her the letter, she will be trying to beg you and you will tell her to do want you asked"

"You think it will work out?" Joyfar asked.

"Of course it will work, give her the sack letter"

"Think very well, you don't know Jinali"

"Am telling you something, you are saying that i don't know Jinali, who is she" took a cup of wine.

"Okay am sorry" took his wine on the table.

"Go and try it, am waiting for reply"

"Okay then, thank you very much"

"You are welcome my friend"

"Let me get you something to eat"

"Okay" he stood up going to the kitchen to meet their house maid and Bami laid on the chair.

"Jinali, all what i know is that she will not want to lose her job, i believe that" Bami said.

Joyce and Olu are in a big restaurant, enjoying themselves a lady served them ice cream and other things that they ordered for.

"The place that am doing my NYSC said that they will retain me" Olu said.

"Are you serious?" said with happy voice.

"Yes it true"

"That will be good, i hope they will be paying good money for their workers"

"Yes, they are treating their workers very well"

"It good then" she was very happy for him.

"Am so happy" drinking ice cream.

"Me too am very happy for you"

"I told mom about it she was very happy as well"

"That remind me" looking at him.

"What is it?"

"My father said you should come and see him"

"I hope no problem?"

"No, he just saying that time is going, you know as a woman we have limit time"

"Okay, which time or day?"

"He said any day, anything"

"Okay no problem"

"Since all these years that we have been together you don't use to talk about your father"

"My father?" Said with lower voice.

"Yes, your father?" looking at him.

"My mother did not use to to talk about him" dropped the spoon of the ice cream down.

"Why?" Put the ice cream on the table.

"Nothing" looking at the other side.

"You can't tell me nothing?"

"I don't know why she doesn't use to talk about him"

"Then ask her?"

"I have ask her several times"

"What did she use to say?" She asked.

"Fine!!! Your father is fine"

"When you get home ask her to tell you who is your father, where he is living and why don't you leave together, make sure she answer you"

"I don't want anything that will make my mother get angry or to cry, i don't like it"

"She will not get angry, ask her"

"For her not to talk about him, may be it is bad thing for her not to remember" said with painful voice.

"You need to ask her, asked"

"I don't want to hunt her"

"This is not hunt, you know your age still now you don't know your father, just a name, his family nothing you are bearing your mother's family name. It is not good enough" she took her ice cream.

"I love my mom, I don't want to do anything that will hunt her"

"I love her too but try"

"Okay i will try"

"Okay, i promise I will try to ask"

"Okay, it good" she smile holding his hand.

"Are you happy now?"

"Yes, yes am happy"

"What will you like to eat?"

"Anything that you order"

"Rice and chicken"

"It will better" she said.

"Okay, am coming a minute"

"Okay my love" he left to order for the food, a lady helped him to take one and he took the second one.
