As I was celebrating my victory of unlocking my sacred gear I heard an ethereal voice coming from the lake nearby.
"....Boy...."
What the hell was that..!
I look over towards the lake and see an otherworldly beauty surrounded by fog within...
"....What is your name, boy....?"
Holy shit is this the lady of the lake?!
"My name is Arios Brennus."
She seemed to contemplate something.
"Come to me boy."
Well, I'm in some deep shit. I quickly activate my sacred gear to try and change the probability of the situation in my favor.
"Don't try such fickle things in my presence boy, especially when you have no mastery of such relics."
Damn.
I move towards the woman enshrouded in smog and she walks over to me as well,
"...Good...." she mutters under her breath during her observation.
"Come closer boy."
I walk closer and soon our hands touch.
The world turns to a stop as my surrounding invert and I appear under the lake in a different dimension all together.
"I am the Lady of the Lake, others refer to me as the Enchantress."
"..."
I don't know what to say...
"...Nice to meet you..."
She gives a light chuckle before replying, "Nice to meet you too, Arios Brennus."
I take in my surrounding as everything sees covered in water but not at the same time, it gives an otherworldly feel as specks of dust float about.
"As for why I brought you here, Arios."
I raise a brow as if asking her to continue.
"I can see you have much untapped potential and I am willing to train you, for a favor in the future that is..."
"Deal."
She raised her brow in response to my instant decision.
I shrug back but deep down think, this is the same dumbass that asked Arthur for a favor and when the time came for her request and ended up with her only to be beheaded seconds later.
She shakes her head and declares, "From now on you will not leave this dimension until you reach my standards."
"That's fine with me."
And just like that out training began, It started with her showing me enchantments and how to enchant objects or weapons to make them more powerful.
These enchantments were different from magic in the anime and are more similar to runes. These runes would be engraved into the object using our own magic reserves and then the runes are absorbed within the object.
These different runes would relate to different meanings and could be overlapped on top of each other making more complex layers.
These layers could interlock and form an entire sequence.
The requirement for a high level enchantment is precision, simplicity, and efficiency.
It reminds me of coding on a computer, where any errors could result in failure or bugs that prevent the intended use.
These runes will work best with the creator and are usually locked or sealed without the permission of the creator.
For example the Holy Swords uses cant be changed as their engravings can't be brought out from within. Unless the runes are damaged or reforged they are impossible to change without the permission of the creator.
Other than learning runes she taught me basic combat, I'm pretty sure I replaced Lancelot, or something like that.
She taught me how to hold and use a sword, different techniques, stances and fighting styles.
I was able to quickly learn these things since I have perfect memory recall and high comprehension, making it easy to adapt and use.
I also learned more about her, as she became more of a sister figure to me and taught me most things from etiquette to survival tips.
I learned she was a half spirit, similar to a Yokai in Japan.
These Spirits were a long lived but weak species that lived having the ability to use the elements instead of magic.
The Lady of the Lake told me that most of these Spirits have gone extinct and are very rare to come across, these spirits made up for their weak abilities with their wisdom over the long period of their lives mastering Alchemy and Enchantments.
I grew in height as the years went by and became more handsome as well. Soon, the clock flew by and 2 years passed as well.
I was able to master things quickly because of my ability and she praised me as a prodigy but, I knew better and the time to leave came all too soon as she had an old friend come to visit.
