Scene 16

DAN HILL:

Welcome to the biggest home ---I've

ever had, that is! It's got three

bedrooms and we could all crash here

for tonight!

Walking towards the left of the house where the garage is, a few feet from the main door. Hill pauses to find his keys then unlocks, opens the door and switches on the light. Motioning to the others 'after you'. The house is well kept with a black and white motif. A large living cum dining room extending to the back of the house. To the left of the dining room, a modest sized kitchen. All bedrooms are to the right of the entire length.

Their first time, the group quietly looks around, curious on how Hill lives his life. Ogling on photos, some trophies, plaques, house items, quality of furniture and fixtures.

PAMELA:

How did you have all these, Dan?

DAN HILL:

First, I was a car salesman then a

real estate salesman. When I was

selling to the NBA players, it was

then I discovered selling players

was more lucrative! In short, all

came courtesy of basketball!

All the time, the trio were watching Hill. Amazed at how this fellow worked by himself to get these.

SA-1:

(to Pamela and Dan)

If we told you something surprising,

would you promise to keep it just among

us.

DAN HILL:

Aha! I knew it! I knew it! With

all the cash you've got, there must

be something fishy that you do!

The aliens look at each other and lightly shake their heads.

MA-2:

It's nothing of that sort, Dan. It's

about us . . . about who we are. . .

DAN HILL:

(suddenly calms down)

You are silent millionaires . . you

inherited a fortune – you --- you…

MA-1:

Wrong again! Do you believe that

there are other worlds like yours?

This send shivers down the spines of Pamela and Hill. They look at the trio, unsure if they are dreaming or awake.

PAMELA:

Wha… what --- do you mean?

MA-1:

First, answer Scot's question then

we'll tell you what we mean.

Pamela and Dan look at each other, and then nod several times.

DAN HILL:

(stunned)

Okay… okay… we swear by the tomb of

all the dead people on earth.

SA-1:

Before telling you exactly who we

are, we'll show you some proofs

first.

SA-1 takes out his celfone-like device then . . .

SA-1: (cont'd)

Tell me something you like to have,

of course, not something as large

as this house!

Pamela and Dan look around while thinking . . .

PAMELA:

Hmmmmm… I want fifty thousand dollars

in cash, in fifty's.

SA-1 focuses his device on top of the dining table. A spirit like satchel appears then slowly materializes.

MA-2:

Go ahead open it - see for yourself.

Awed and stunned, Pamela and Dan slowly approach the satchel. Pamela reaches for then withdraws her hand several times. Then finally touches the satchel, feeling around it to see if it's for real. Dan looks at her and returns the look, meaning this is for real. She unlocks the latches, slowly opens it in full and almost steps back to find bundles of fifty dollars!

MA-1:

Those are not crisp dollar bills, but

slightly used so you'll not to be

suspected of anything!

DAN HILL AND PAMELA: (interchange)

This is impossible --- Unbelievable -

It is real, it is true --- I must be

dreaming!

SA-1:

That is our proof that we are not

from this world. We are inhabitants

of planet like this, millions of light

years away, Planet ExTer.

Half scared, Pamela and Dan move away a few feet from the trio.

DAN HILL:

(arms spread 45 degrees)

Is this why you befriended us? What

will you do with us?

MA-2:

Don't you see it? We never

approached you. Everything happened

unexpectedly. Same with you Pamela,

right?

The two finally relax and sit, but still in disbelief.

MA-1:

First we'd like to apologize for

An experiment we did on you…

(Dan and Pam stir up from their seat)

MA-1: (cont'd)

No, no, please listen, it did not

harm you or take anything away.

You just felt uneasy and unsure

because your emotions were suppressed

temporarily, but now it's back! Now,

to be fair, we did an experiment on

ourselves.

An expression of compassion shows on Dan and Pamela.

FLASHBACK:

The aliens narrate to them how this all started from observing TV shows of life on earth. How they compared it to the life of their kind. How they want peace in the universe devoid of greed and discontent. How the people of their kind have everything without envy or injustice. The question why earth people do so many weird things they could not comprehend.

After the narration, Dan and Pamela explain to them why people have to play games, compete, race, dance, sing and perform many other entertaining acts such as movies. They also explain how cartoons are made, why Chinese kung fu fighters 'fly', so does superman, Spiderman and other superheroes do their thing.

Finally their orientation session with one another is over.

SA-1:

(in awe and also disbelief)

So, almost everything that we see on

our screens are for the purpose of

pleasing human need for entertainment.

PAMELA:

You could say that. But there are

some that are purely for information

or update on what's happening around

us.

DAN HILL:

Now that we know everything that has

brought us all together, what are we

up to, next?

MA-1:

Help us how to live, feel and act as

earth people, so we can tell our

world why earth is such.

The group proceeds to do some partying in Dan's home. Exchange notes about the aliens' kind and human. Play some board games and cards. Dan and Pamela teach them dance steps or how to sing, until they tire off and Dan shows them to their rooms.

INT. – HILL'S HOUSE – NEXT DAY

All waking up at almost the same time near noon, they sit around groggily around the dining table, having coffee.

DAN HILL:

Hey, its game six today!

MA-1:

You remember the guy I approached

in New Jersey?

DAN HILL:

Yeah . . . what about him?

The aliens look with guilt at each other . . .

MA-1:

Uhhhh… we sort of conspired with him

to make the Bets lose that game.

DAN HILL:

You were able to do to the Bets what

you did to us?

Shamefully the three aliens nod . . .

SA-1:

We were starting to favor the Makers

and we wanted to avenge their loss

before that. I think that's the bad

aspect of being carried away by

emotions, huh?
