It was worth a try

He couldn't move his arm.

Liu Sumeng could not hope to parry the attack coming his way. With little option he rolled out of the way, narrowly dodging what would have been a killing blow.

The Ivory Sword Saint clenched his teeth. The sword he was holding clattered the ground, his muscles failed him. When he looked down he saw that his right hand was terrible. It was red, swollen and his white robes reddened with blood. Muscles trembled uncontrollably, and why did it feel broken?

But how! The weird head hadn't come close to his right arm!

Now that Liu Sumeng thought about it, hadn't this happened to him earlier as well? When his shoulder had suddenly flared in pain and began to bleed. But nothing had actually struck in the area.

But there was no time to ponder the thought. Needle-tendrils of hair shot toward him. Liu Sumeng could barely dodge the blow as he dipped down to pick up the discarded sword with his left hand.
