ACE WAGNER-E

Astrid woke up at 6.30 in the morning and left quickly after her breakfast. She wore her Dr Martens boots and carried an extra pair of clothes just in case she sweat herself to work.

On the other hand, Ace Wagner was getting dressed for work. A thought came into his mind when the car door opened for him. His mind was moving towards her. Something that rarely happened to him. Ace liked women, not that he hated them, but this particular girl with her amazing pale brown eyes was drawing him in. And try as he might but he could not keep thoughts of her out of his fucking brain cells. As if her face and eyes were forever burned into his cells.

`Gordon, did you clear Hadwin's accident file?'

`Done, sir.'

`Let's head to Route 3'

`Sir?'

`Did you forget to clean your ears?'

`Right away, sir' Gordon was perplexed.

Astrid was not in the best of mood being made to walk the extra mile. She climbed onto the nearest tree and sat on one of its branches. She could feel a gentle breeze soothing her senses and mind.

`Stupid vampire' she cursed loudly.

Astrid looked at the highway and she saw the bus stop had been repaired as good as new. She was tempted to swing her backside to the bus stop, but she did not want to disobey her pop. So, Astrid did what a monkey would do and started jumping off from one tree branch to another. Her moves were discreet, and she could feel the tree branches and the wind in her favour. Usually, she would fall a few times while hopping tree to tree but this time it did not happen. Astrid was ecstatic. Yipee.

`Wohoooo, here comes the jungle lady. Make way for your queen!', she shouted.

She did not realize that a car stopped at Route 3 and Mercedes-Maybach stopped. He rolled down the window to hear the rustling of tree branches and squinted his eyes. Ace saw a figure jumping from tree branches to another at a steady space.

`Move the car, stay on this lane and drive slowly' he instructed his driver.

Ace tried to look at the figures' body or face, but he could not decipher who it was. However, he could deduce it to be a female or a young boy. The figure seemed slim and lithe.

Who could it be? The girl? Do we have different types of creature besides vampire and human? He pinched his nose bridge and closed his eyes. When he investigated the forest again, the figure was way ahead and suddenly it disappeared.

`Gordon, which is the nearest bus stop apart from the one we saw?

`Route 5 and 7, sir'

`Let's head to Route 5'

`Yes, sir'

Astrid reached Route 7 in no time and was in luck when she saw a bus at the bus stop. She quietly got down from the tree and straighten her clothes, stomps on her booths to clean them of any dried leaves and the bus was gone! Shit, why can't it wait? She looked at her watch and realized it was 7.15 am. Still early, I can wait for the next bus, she thought.

Ace Wagner saw an empty bus stop and he wondered if he calculated wrongly. Judging by the speed of the person and the stop that were along the road the figure must be at Route 5, unless...

`Full speed to Route 7 now!' he instructed.

Gordon looked at the driver and the driver gripped the steering wheel tighter. What happened to their boss today? Why was he moving about Routes that they rarely took?

As the car approached Route 7, Ace saw a bus that left the bus stop. Shit, the person must be inside the bus by now? Shall I stop it? But how to connect the girl and the figure? Were they the same? Did the figurehead to this bus stop or it was just a speck of his imagination? Just, as he passed by the bus stop, he glanced at it and froze. The girl! He found her!

Ace smiled smugly, his heart skipped a beat at the pretty face that pouted slightly, maybe she was upset she missed the bus. Well good for her, I get to speak with her. Well here goes nothing, Ace thought and straightened his suit, before barking an order to his driver.
