Astrid drank the warm lemon honey water and stared at his chest again. She could not help herself but ask, `The words on your chest. What does it mean?’

`Show me?’ Ace smirked.

Astrid knew what he was doing, and she played along. Her fingers trailed to the Japanese words and stopped there.

`Zephyr belongs to me.’ He muttered.

`And this?’, Astrid spoke softly, her fingers moving to the opposite direction. 

`Divine, precious lady. Time for action now’. He grabbed her fingers and started kissing each, starting from the base to their tips, maintaining his eye contact with her. It was so sensual and stimulating, his soft lips kissing as if her fingers were her lips. Astrid felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Her left hand unconsciously, touch his face and he leaned on her hands, she mustered enough courage to prevent her mind from going into an overdrive of sentiments, and uttered `I need to pee’.

Ace chuckled and smooched her cheek.

Jungle Lady and the City Dude

Middle of August 2035

Two weeks passed by in a blink of an eye, but the heartache she felt for Ace did not subside, for it only grew. She could shed a tear unknowingly when Ace video called her. Whoever coined absence makes the heart grow fonder was right to the mark.

To fill in her mind with work, she concentrated more on her final exams, which was towards the end of the month. She spoke to Ace about her graduation, not missing the slight twitch of his lips when he couldn't promise to be attending it. Her heart tugged, leaving a profound sense of sadness, not being able to share it with the love of her life.

Astrid met up with Hadwin frequently, sensing the vampire was lonely. When she asked him about his follies with girls, he waved it aside saying his feelings were conflicted at the moment. Poor Astrid did not know, Hadwin was falling in love with her.
