I wait inside a prison called life.
I'm trapped inside this chest of all despair.
Within this pestilential chamber I await
the freedom from these chains.
I fade away slowly behind these bars
where light comes in only twice a day,
and I am treated as if a stranger
and equality is put to shame.
I shall fear no death in any way,
for freedom comes in many names.
I believe the end is my freedom,
now I beckon thee come quickly.
I sat upon a bank look outward,
the horizon so envious and clear
with such I wished to have
so vast and wonderous this world.
I join the departing clouds,
no keys or lock can be bound,
I am free when I am gone,
goodbye my chamber of solemn songs.
