Chapter 98

I groaned as I pulled myself out of my car and went up to my apartment that night.

It was already late as my talk with Terry and her daughter lasted hours than we anticipated.

I was sighing on my way up 'cause the news I was carrying would surely not earn a positive response from my girlfriend.

And since it's already late, I was hoping she's fast asleep to avoid the conversation and just deal with it tomorrow because honestly I was so damn tired to face an argument.

And guess what?

Fortune was on my side— she's sleeping soundly.

So I tiptoed to the bathroom, showered, dressed and gently slid on the bed praying she won't wake up.

And my fortune ran out when she rolled on my side.

"Love?" She called.

I moved to hug her.

"I'm home and let's sleep." I swiftly closed my eyes after planting a kiss on her cheek.

And just when I thought she'd drifted back to sleep, she groaned.

"How's the talk?" She asked with eyes closed.

I flinched.
