Graduation Day

The hour finally arrived, I was sitting with my grandpa John as my escort along with my fellow graduates on our black robe in a really big hall.

I looked around but I can't see my friends nor Erika; we most definitely sat far from each other as it was alphabeticalized.

Then the ceremony begun with an hour of inspirational speeches followed by calling of names to march; the intense happiness from everyone as we launched our caps skyward; the shaking of hands; the hugging and crying then a quick search for friends among the crowd, and —

Donna first found us.

"So, which is which?"

"… fifth, sixth or seventh degree?" She playfully asked.

I chuckled, "Fourth," I honestly answered while shaking my head sideways.

Yeah, I have four degrees in total by now but this one's the only graduation ceremony I ever attended.

Well, I never really attended school when I earned those three others.
