The Egg and the painting

Old Valyria

Opening my eyes I smiled realizing where I was, it seemed jumping from location to location was easy as long as you could imagine the place you wanted to be vivid. I stood where I had once stood not too long ago the only part of this building that wouldn't bury me in the rubble. The only problem I noticed was the lack of light, the torch I had carried no longer in sight. Walking towards the blocked off the path a smile appeared on my face, leaning down I picked it up the sword I had thrown yesterday.

That feeling of peace once again invaded my being allowing me to think clearly, first I had to make sure Rabi and Kyra hadn't left. Holding the sword I walked towards the front entrance to the building, the exit still blocked by rocks, luckily I didn't need to get through it.

"Kyra, Rabi are you there?" I yelled through the rocks slightly hoping they were still there.

"Prince Aegon I'm here," Rabi said causing a smile to appear on my face at least I knew I could trust him.

"What about Kyra?"

"She's gone to look for another exit my prince," I nodded internally it seemed Kyra hasn't given up on me yet.

"I think I found a way out just wait there for me," turning back I jogged towards the center of the building. Although it was dark I had no problem spotting the hole leading to the other dragon egg, looking through it I allowed that foreign feeling to overtake me.

*QWOO*

Looking around I could now take in the full room, the dragon egg was a dark obsidian color looking at it I couldn't help but be excited. Taking in the rest of the room I quickly noticed the painting on the wall, the fact that it had survived this long surprised me.

In the picture stood a black dragon larger then Balerion himself, behind the dragon stood an army looking closely I quickly realized they were in fact greyscaled. An army of greyscaled stood behind the dragon as if they followed it's command, I had never heard of such a legend.

Turning back to the dragon egg I wondered if it would turn to ash if I touched it. There was only one way to find out I placed my sword where my arakh once rested before reaching for the dragon egg. Holding it with two hands I smiled feeling it's weight, it was the largest dragon egg I had ever seen.

*Rumble*

There was no creaking this time, just the sound of the building's foundation crumbling. I figured this would happen, closing my eyes I imagined the only building standing tall in Valyria, how even though it stood tall it looked as beaten and tattered as any of the other buildings. How the stairs had already crumbled, the sight that greeted me as I climbed the wall leading to its entrance.

*QWOO*

Opening my eyes I now stood behind a surprised Rabi and Kyra, the sound of me jumping here had caused them a fright. I held the Dragon egg in my hand steadily as I looked at the two, "We should probably be getting out of here that building won't hold for much longer."

Reaching a hand out to Rabi he passed me Dothraki made bag, I quickly placed the Dragon egg within it before turning to the crumbled steps. I wouldn't be climbing down and I wasn't sure either Rabi or Kyra was ready to see my new ability. There was no way up but even Rabi could safely jump from here to the ground. I made sure to grip the bag tightly as I shot through the air landing perfectly on the ground down below. Kyra followed after me sticking the landing, Rabi, on the other hand, seemed to be having performance issues. (Did I mention this guy is a eunuch?)

"Rabi you have to make a choice, risk the rubble from that building crushing you where you stand or jump and risk spraining an ankle or something."

Rabi nodded his head as sweat appeared on his forehead, the sound of the building crumbling didn't seem to aid him in his choice. Closing his eyes he launched himself in the upon landing on all fours he thanked the gods for his safety.

I smiled internally ignoring the constant rumbling going on in the background, I had what I came for and saw no reason to remain in Old Valyria any longer. The dragon egg that hung from my shoulder in front of me and the unexpected sword hanging from my waist.

(POV Change)

As the building crumbled that painting resting on the wall, where that dragon egg once rested seemed to come to life as the dragon's eyes slowly blinked.
