Meeting(2)

Of course, I knew that with such warnings, the cleverer ones would most likely run away. I didn't care about that. I just wanted them to know that I knew about all the illegal activities that they had been doing in the company.

I didn't care about the money that had been lost. A long-drawn-out battle in the courts didn't really achieve much. What was important was that they were cut out of the Company so that they couldn't do more damage. As long as they had not done anything to directly sabotage the company, he was willing to let them go.

After all, there was more than one way to get them to pay, which didn't involve the courts. Firing them and putting a black mark on them would be more than sufficient to make them suffer.

If they decided to fight, I will certainly make it that they are beaten down so badly that they can never get up again. After the first batch left, Kyle glared at the ones left behind.

"The group who presented the 2nd Project is blacklisted not only from Company SI, and all companies under Delatour Corporation,"

I said ruthlessly.

"We do not entertain anyone who tries to make fools of us."

"As for those who supported 3rd project you are under probation for one month, If you fail the evaluation at the end of that month, you will be fired."

I threw his files of all the proposals onto the middle of the table. The same files that I had been scribbling on earlier.

"Here are my notes on the weaknesses of the Projects. The 3rd project is not totally rejected. Look at my files to understand why it was not, it is better but still requires work".

He then looked at the group that had presented the 3rd project.

"You have one month to correct its deficiencies and resubmit it."

I glared at everyone in the meeting room and said.

"From today my team HOPE will be monitoring Company SI in this one month. Those who survive the first cleansing today are only on probation. Whether you stay or not will depend on your performance at the end of the month."

Then i got up, fixed my suit and said:

"Of course, you are more than welcome to resign if you cannot stand my way of making thing. My Delatour Corporation is not a playground or for the weak and we are not here to force you to stay either. For those who survive, your basic pay will be increased by 5%."

The old tactic smash them, then reward them. On one side i have no use for weak, spineless people so they could go if they cannot work. On the other side, I would reward those who performed well.

The moment Alex and his group walked out, everyone in the room let out the breath that they didn't realise they were holding. Some began wiping the sweat that had formed on their foreheads.

Their eyes landed on the files on the table. One by one, those files were taken and looked at. 15 minutes later, everyone that was still in the room, were shocked beyond belief.

They had seen him take those files, flip through the page and make all sorts of scribblings on it. They didn't think he was doing anything with them. But, what they saw in those files were beyond what they could ever imagine.

It wasn't garbage. It was detailed and concise edits. It was littered with huge marks and circles, and also question marks on unclear statements. There were even exclamation marks with comments and corrections. The notes were detailed and appeared as if it had been looked at and studied for days.

Yet, he had only done it in the time the presentation was being done. 15 minutes. That's all it took.

Truly a genius. That's what he was. Everyone was thinking that in their minds.

The boy may be domineering and look upon them like ants, but he had every reason to be.

Some started having determination being forming in their hearts, fostering a feeling that they would take this opportunity to learn and improve. Some started getting depressed, feeling that all of their efforts and hard work was nothing when compared to a genius. So why even bother trying?

Word quickly got out.

The director was doing the cleansing.

In two hours, 8 people had already been fired, 6 were under probation - and he had just started.

The news spread within the Company like wildfire. Unrestrained and created intense fear. The only one who wasn't worried was the receptionist, for Alex had actually praised her that morning. She was happily humming at the table, oblivious to the panic that was permeating in the Company, feeling all safe and warm.

Everyone didn't even go for lunch. They were too scared and could hardly eat. Instead, they huddled around and gossiped.

"Don't let their young age fool you."

One said as he shook his head.

"Don't look at him in the eye,"

Another said.

"He has this killer gaze that will freeze you to your death"

So we spent the day visiting all the other offices and I continued to fire people too
