Vacation

We have been home for two days now. Alexa spends her time with my mother shopping and visiting some relatives and friends. Alex and me, took the job as an excuse to avoid accompanying her.

I was sitting in my father's office and it's been 15 minutes already and no one was talking. My father used this kind of thing often with us. Whoever breaks first, will be at a disadvantage. I did nothing, so I decided to remain silent. Unlike my mother, my father does not scare me at all.

"So Xander, you have nothing to say to me?"

" What do you want to know Dad?"

"For example, your little getaway to city ."

"I think you already know everything, why talk about it."

" Of course for an explanation, and the reasons."

I felt that my father was starting to get impatient, and his face was getting colder and colder.

"I have nothing more to say."

"Alexander Prince Delatour, I remind you that you are the eldest and, you have certain responsibilities."

"Yes, but so far, I have shown you that I am very capable."

" No all you showed me is that you don't want Delatour corp anymore."

I saw my father sigh then shook his head.

"Tell me your reasons, if they are valid, I will give you my unconditional support."

I gave him a surprised look, since I thought it was going to be even harder.

" Well, you should know that someone wants your CEO place."

My father looked at me and said.

"Yes, I know."

" And when you announce that I will no longer be the future heir, that's when they will act. But it will also give Alex the opportunity to assert his position and show that he is as capable as I am."

" And what is H International doing in all of this."

Well, I don't want my brother to always be in my shadow. In the future he too will have a family, he will get married and have children."

I couldn't find anything to say to my father anymore so I was speechless for a moment. Then I heard my father speak again.

" Alexander I am very proud of you."

Still, I remained without saying anything, so my father continued.

"I don't always tell you that, but I want you to know. And I'm also proud of your brother, he's as intelligent and capable as you."

A slow smile played on my face. I did not know that hearing my father tell me these things could move me. But I myself am amazed at how much I wanted to hear these words.

"So do what you have to do, I'll be there to help you."

" Thanks dad."

I knew that from this hour my connection with my era is a little more solid.

Finally I stayed a little longer than I had planned. A few days later I found myself again in city S. Jamal was in the process of updating me on the latest news concerning the company during my absence I had given him the mission to acquire a technology company.

"Where are they now?"

"They are at level 31."

"And the project I gave them?.

" They've finished it, they're just waiting for you to test it."

" OK, let's go."

We take the elevator and we are heading towards the level indicated to me by Jamal. When I arrived there were several people working on different projects. But what interests me now is the new drone I designed.

I did a search, and I saw that the military base that was here was not very well equipped. So I came up with a plan. A company like ours, if we have a good relationship with the government, so we must also have a good relationship with the military. So, I build this little gem. I know that, when I present it, they will buy it. In addition to what Jamal just told me, they have an operation they want to perform but the lack of manpower and information prevents them.

We arrived in a room that has only 10 people. When I arrived, I saw that they knew Jamal. After the presentations were finished, they started demonstrating their invention to me. It was quite satisfying, but it was not really on point. After discussing the improvements they can make, I let them discuss them and then I decided to take a tour of the laboratory. I was very pleased with what I have seen so far. Days passed and I took care of the most urgent matters that deserved my attention. Soon it will be the bid for the city S development project.

The people of construction company and I were in a meeting when I received a message from Jamal. After the meeting, Jamal came to find me.

"Boss Governor Jang wants to see you."

"Where is he right now?"

" He sent his driver to take you. He didn't come."

" Ok, I'll see what he wants."

50 minutes later I found myself in front of a large mansion located a little outside the city, surrounded by trees and guards dressed in military uniform. When I arrived I was really amazed to see that the person who came to receive me was none other than Mrs Harper. She motioned for me to enter.

" Hello Mrs Harper".

" Hello Alexander."

"Nice to see you, I saw your latest design and as I think you didn't let me down."

" Well, I love what I do. I have to show at least my gratitude to the one who allowed me to be there today."

" Ok, and can I know what i'm doing here? I was supposed to see the governor."

"Ah he is with my father, General Harper, in the living room they are waiting for you."
