Life on the Daily

Cherry sat down at the kitchen table, awaiting her family to join her. Her brothers both live in Oregon, and her parents live in Montana, and there house is surrounded by forests. A fresh morning breeze came in from the kitchen window, it was brisk and filled her lungs. She could hear her fathers yawns coming up from behind her. He takes a seat on her left, he isn't awake enough to even say good morning. Then her mother and brothers came up from the basement. In her mother's arms was a chocolate ice cream cake with the numbers 1 and 9 sat high and mighty on the cake. The cake was placed in front of her face, she could feel the warmth of the candles being lit one at a time.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Cherry. Happy birthday to you!" A round of applause followed the ending note.

Two minutes past with endless chatter, and mouths full of ice cream freezing their brains. Eventually everyone left to continue what they were doing before. Cherry's mom walk towards her with a small gift wrapped around it was a gold string.

"Here you go, I plan for you to be able to open the rest of the gifts when you get home later." She says with a warm smile engulfing her face.

Opening it there was a golden neck lace that says a special quote on it. It read "I will always love you." It was something so touching because she says those words to me everyday. Her eyes were about to fill with tears of joy, but she held them back.

"Thanks mom!! I love it." Cherry says at the same time shes landing a kiss apoun her mother's cheek.

"I have to go to work now, good bye mom." Leaving with the chain of gold around her neck. She walks out of the front door and enters an old beat up car. The engine barely started with a twist of the wrist.

She arrives at her job of retail, only a few minutes late. Her coworkers congratulating her for her birthday.

Two hours pass and Cherry is in the staff lounge. The sounds of a TV made her lose her breath.

"Just now a family of four were robbed at noon, the burglar entered the house not knowing of the people inside. He killed all four of them. A neighbor reported him to the cops, they arrived late but we're able to capture the suspect."

Right on time with the TV, Cherry receives a phone call..
