 A glorious reign over the realm only to be hunted, a glorious return only to be haunted. Avery Hall had a fair share of experience when it came to the many layers of humanity. 
 


With the death of our real world in the future, everyone gets digitized and becomes... well, Immortal. To a degree.

But how to do you spend immortality?

Video Games... of course, with everything being digital... and with Hyper Advanced A.I... it's possible to create games that simulate what reality used to be like.

 Our story takes place in Starduster MMO, a fantasy based MMO game where the game's story is run mainly by player choice, with any choice being an important factor into anything.

Our main point of view is Avery Hall, who specializes in the Sniper Class, a long range damage class that uses a Rifle. He is quite efficient at making use of all he has available, and is kind of a jerk.

Avery also has been preventing the Progress of the game by holding on to a Key Artifact, other players find out about this and after a while decide they don't want him around anymore.

 While normally death lowers levels... his reputation is too low within the game and he gets banned, luckily he has a second account, as most V.I.P. users in the world do...

 Avery, swears to return the status quo, but maybe he'll be good this time... hopefully, habits take a long time to stop.

 So we join Avery's journey to get back to the top, just make sure he doesn't forget to properly transfer accounts.

StarDuster - Glory of the Umbral Avenger

           - " y-yeah. I'm Cobalt... ahem... sorry. "


        " Are ya alright? You spaced out for a moment. "


           - " I don't know. Just... forget it... what were we talking about? "


          " The data we got off of Origin? "


           - " Damn..  how about this, I'll just ask whoever is in charge when we get to that point... this war is about to end, were going to see lots of things we never even imagined... and most importantly my focuses will shift. I'm going to completely forget about Origin after this, so when we get back to that point then tell me. "


         " Uh... alright? Well... ugh... how much longer do you think it will take for Melody to reach us? "


        -  " She's about an hour away right now if I'm guessing correctly. "


         " Its already been an hour... jeez, if only we had mounts... or if we still had the car... "


        - " Right! The car! What happened to it? "


         - " Must of been a nice way to go, that car is certainly happy with that death. "


         " What's with ya man? You've been super inclined to talk about death and such... are you OK? Don't lie bro... "


        - " I've just been thinking about it a lot recently. Like, where do NPCs go after they die?  I know there is hell waiting for us players... I just want to ensure that my girls would be in good hands if it c- "


        " Hey. Don't think like that. They aren't going to die, not with you around or without. They are resilient, those years you were gone they didn't just survive... they thrived and grown as people, proper people. You gotta remember that. "


     - " Eh... memory isn't my strong suit.... but your right. I do remember all those years ago you told me to get a therapist... little did I know your second to none in that field, that makes me feel a lot better Arch... "


         " Don't mention it. Its not easy dealing with hell, you should ask Melody... but you lived just as she did, so now you just got to get used to living with that scar just as she did. "


         - " Hold on, what? What happened to Melody? "


          " Ok doo doo head, yeah... she was military back on Earth. Clone soldier, raised from birth to kill. Recalled just before she could get a taste of the battlefield, I met her loooooong after that... back in HellGate FPS, she never could satisfy hur lust for blood... endless kills and endless viscera, she seems nice so I asked her to be friends... she challenged me to a duel... yada yada. Then we moved to StarDuster. "


          - " Quite the story, what did you do back on earth? "


         " Me? Well I was a pro-gamer before the famine, then I was jobless for a few years... then I digitalized to test out a few games. "


        - " Huh, so an avid gamer huh? "


         - " I uh. Don't recall, haha? "


           " Fair. So uh, Cobalt... I don't think we ever shared our real names... how about it? "


           - " Right. You first though. "
