Chapter 6 – Cerberus

Alan was quite surprised when he heard the announcement.

"Secret? What secret? How do I find it?" Alan asked.

"Ding! The host is advised to use the map." The system announced.

"Map? Which map?" Alan asked again.

Suddenly, a window popped up in front of Alan. It shows the location of where Alan was currently at and the secret which was marked.

"Oh, from the map I'm not too far away from the secret's location. So, I can settle this quickly." Alan talked to himself.

Alan decided to look for the secret first before he gets out from the dungeon. At first, he thought that it would be time-consuming to find the secret's location as the dungeon was quite vast.

Tomorrow was his family big gathering, but after he saw the place was not that far from him, he changed his mind.

Alan followed the map for quite a while.

"Eh? The map shows I need to go straight but in front of me is a dead end. Defective? I bet this is a cheap locating device." Alan talked to himself.

"The system is watching you." A red window popped out in front of Alan.

"Wow…amusing.. .so you can get angry eh? System?" Alan teased the system.

"Ding! The host is advised to be polite, or punishment will be given." The system announced.

"Punish me if you dare. Heh!" Alan smirked.

Not long after that, black clouds suddenly appeared above Alan and boom!

Alan was struck by lightning. He was thrown away and flew towards the dead end.

"Damn you! System! You actually did something to me!" Alan was stunned while he flew towards the dead end.

"Oh, no! I'm going to hit the wall!!" Alan was screaming in his heart.

The dead-end was the wall of the dungeon.

After Alan was struck by lightning, his body was paralyzed and can only control his eyes and see that he was going to hit the wall.

"NO!!!!!" Alan shut his eyes and screamed inwardly.

After a while, "Eh Why I feel nothing? I hit the wall, why do I feel nothing?" Alan thought.

Alan opened his eyes and saw that he was on the other side of the wall. After a while, he can move his body and stand up.

"I crossed the wall? Was the map correct after all? So, that's why you, system, seemed angry at me. Hahaha! I'm so sorry!" Alan scratched his head.

"Ding! The host is advised not to be so stupid like a monkey next time." The system announced.

"You, you really hate me, don't you? Alan trembled in anger before he calmed himself down.

"Oh well, I was the one at fault just now." Alan shrugged.

Alan looked back at the wall behind him.

From his side, he can see that there was only a small entrance to cross the wall and the probability for people to find this is almost zero.

If he did not have the system, he would be the same as everyone.

"I mean, who would hang out and play near the wall, right? The wall of the dungeon is very long too. It should be several times longer than the great wall of China. It would be so hard to find." Alan thought.

Alan turned back and looked in front of him. He was astounded by what was in front of him. There was a big temple-like building.

It looked old, but one can imagine how majestic it was at its prime time.

"This secret place does amaze me quite a bit. So big, but somehow was hidden here. I wonder what is this place?" Alan thought to himself.

Alan looked around while he walked to the entrance of the temple. There was a golden sign on it.

"Apollo's Temple…it sounded like in Greek mythology and the how's the temple built resembled the ancient civilization. So, it still exists in Unity." Alan thought.

The people in Unity seemed forgot or didn't know at about the world Alan lived in a few thousand years ago.

"This world also strangely similar to the novel I once read. I smell something fishy here…" Alan thought.

Alan walked in, and suddenly, the temple was shaking.

"What now? *Sigh* " Alan frowned.

Alan's prediction was a spot on. Not long after the shake, a magic circle appeared, and something came out from the ground.

"A three-headed giant hound is being summoned…Cerberus? What on earth is happening?" Alan thought while watching the Cerberus came out from the ground.

Once the Cerberus summoning completed, all the three heads of the Cerberus were growling when they saw Alan in front of them.

Alan was quite nervous. The Cerberus was three times bigger than the Ape king he defeated before.

Alan shot out several fireballs that were fused with fire essence to the Cerberus in front of him, but after the shots hit it, nothing happened.

"I forgot, Cerberus is from the underworld, Hell's Flame should not affect it much." Alan face-palmed himself and immediately equipped his Star Sword.

Right after Alan equipped his sword, the Cerberus launched an attack. It mouths, all of it, breathe out fire. Although it was not as powerful as Hell's Flame, it was still dangerous.

"Sh**!" Alan cursed inwardly.

The fire spread throughout almost all of the ground. Alan jumped upwards and stuck his sword to the wall. He was hanging there thinking how to deal with the Cerberus.

"How to defeat it?" Alan looked at his Star Sword. The sword was suddenly vibrating.

"Why are you act cowardly? This kind of behaviour does not suit to be my master!" the sword was speaking in Alan's mind.

"S…Star Sword?" Alan was shocked.

"Stop talking and start killing! That puny creature cannot stand me, the heavenly Star Sword!" the sword vibrated and killing intent was emitted from it.

"Hehe…I know what to do, a sword like you just need to follow me." Alan chuckled.

Once the attack finished, Alan pulled the stuck sword from the wall and jumped towards the Cerberus below.

He made a simple strike to one of Cerberus's heads.

*Growl* the Cerberus was growling toward Alan.

"Oh! I guess the sword can cut the puppy's flesh like a butter! I underestimated you, Star Sword! It was a waste of time thinking for a strategy just now. I guess being a simpleton is the best in this situation." Alan smiled.

"Of course! Now act like my master and kill!" the sword vibrated.

"As I said just now, you just need to follow me," Alan said calmly.

"Come to your Daddy, little puppy!" Alan blasted forward.

The Cerberus howled, and fire appeared covering its body. It used the same skill, the fire breath, but now the flame was hotter and more lethal.

Alan ignored the incoming fire and kept dashing forward.

"Let's try this, I wonder will this work?" Alan smiled.

Alan fused the Hell's Flame to the Star Sword. He was surprised to see the sword and the Hell's Flame had a resonance.

The sword vibrated and its appearance became black because of the black flame covering it.

"Good!" the sword vibrated.

Alan looked at his sword and smirked.

He slashed the sword towards the fire. The Hell's Flame in Alan seemed angry and restless.

An ant-like fire prowess from the Cerberus dared to compare itself with the purest Hell's Flame.

Like what Alan had expected, the Cerberus's fire did not leave a single scratch on the Hell's Flame covered Star Sword.

"You want to know a secret, Puppy? I can also covered myself with fire." Alan smiled.

Black Flame appeared on Alan's body, covering his whole body.

"I wonder if this how it feels to be a Super Saiyan." Alan thought.

After for a while, he shook his head. "Now I can't watch those kinds of things anymore." Alan smiled, full of regret.

The black flame was so oppressive. The Cerberus's fire was like a super small existence if front of the Hell's Flame.

Not long after that, all of the Cerberus's fire was gone. The ground now covered with Alan's black flame.

Alan slashed towards the Cerberus, a crescent force by the Star Sword fused with black flame was shot out from the slash.

The slash hit the Cerberus, but it still can withstand the attack.

Alan dashed forward to the Cerberus and slid under it while pointing the sword upward.

The sword cut through the Cerberus's stomach. It was grunting in pain.

Alan stood up and jumped onto the Cerberus to prick the sword into its middle head.

"W…wait! I admit defeat!" all of the Cerberus's heads spoke at the same time.

Alan ignored the pleading. He wanted to continue to pierce the Cerberus's head, but before the sword can touch the head, the Cerberus's body released some kind of vapour gas.

Alan was alarmed by it and cancelled his plan to attack. He jumped from the Cerberus's body.

After a while, the three-headed Cerberus transformed into a human-like body, a man wearing a butler costume.

The man kneeled on one knee, "I admit defeat."

The Cerberus was mighty, but Alan's Hell's Flame nulled its attack. In terms of agility, as it was big, it can't move much. Alan was much faster than him.

Alan was bewildered of the situation happening before him. The 'puppy' suddenly became a man.

Alan looked at the kneeling man, "Give me a reason why I must let you live."

"If you let me live, you will be my master forever!" the Cerberus said solemnly.

Alan lifted one of his eyebrows, "Oh really? Interesting…from the battle just now, you are weak, why I want a weak servant like you?"

The Cerberus became more nervous after he heard that, "M…Master! I lost my Hell's core. Just now, I can only use 20 percent of my original power."

"How did you lost it?" Alan asked.

"Few thousands of years ago, the underworld was in war with an unknown entity. The entity's force killed Hades, my previous master. It took my last master's Hell's core, which is Hell's Flame." The Cerberus said while his face showed the pain.

Alan was surprised, "My Hell's Flame was Hades's? Then, how on earth it appeared here, in Unity?" Alan thought.

Alan thought for a while. He then looked at the Cerberus who was kneeling and said, "Okay then, you will be my servant from now."

"Ding! Cerberus was tamed!" the system announced.

"Ding! Monster Tamer title unlocked!"

Alan ignored the announcement.

He looked at the Cerberus and asked, "So, why did the underworld went for a war?"

"My previous master, Hades, was furious after he knew that The Olympus was invaded. He went to Olympus and found his dead brothers' bodies, Zeus and Poseidon. They were killed." The Cerberus replied.

"By the unknown entity?" Alan asked.

"Yes," Cerberus replied.

Alan was curious about this unknown entity. "I knew something smells fishy." Alan thought.

After for a while, he looked at Cerberus again.

"So, what are you guarding?" Alan asked.

"My master, I, Cerberus, was guarding one of my previous master's brother, Zeus's, God's Blood," Cerberus replied.

"God's Blood?" Alan was surprised.
