Eek

One stormy night, in a small cabin near the woods lived a family of four. A mother, father, daughter, and son were about to go to bed and wait for the storm to go away. As the father was putting his daughter to bed he started to tell her the story about Little Red Riding Hood. And as her father came to the end of the story. She started to wonder why they acted the way they did.

"Oh father, why did they kill the wolf?" the daughter asked in a worrisome voice.

"the wolf was bad and was going to eat the little girl along with her grandmother," the father said with a smile, making the little girl think some more of the little red girl and bad wolf.

"but father! The wolf wasn't bad, not once was the wolf in the wrong." the girl told her father

"how is that so? He was going to eat the poor little red riding hood. Why do you say that the wolf isn't bad?" the father said with his intrigued voice.

As the girl was thinking, she nuzzled her pillow, half way ducked under the covers. Then, she sprank up and urged with a bright smile and said…

"I think the girl was wrong, along with her mother and her grandmother and the huntsman. Was the girl told not to go into the short pathway for it goes into the woods? And why would the mother let her own daughter go by herself? The grandmother should have known better to lock her doors better, and the huntsman could have dealt with the wolf in a better way then killing them! Not only that, but the wolf was innocent the whole time," the girl spoke like she truly knew it was the truth.

As the father thought of what the little girl had said, he started to say something but then stopped. Then with a loud crackle of lightning he started to speak once more.

"Why is it that the wolf is innocent? Such a beast could gobble you up within seconds! It also has sharp teeth and fur that give you the shivers of a lifetime."

The girl spoke again. "Why is a human innocent? Such a beast can kill you without mercy in seconds! It also has weapons of all kinds and shapes that will scare you for life." not once did she stutter, not once did she hesitate.

The man was both astonished and afraid of what his five years old daughter only said. "Where did she learn these things?" he thought trying to find out how his daughter thought such things at her age.

As he replied "where are you getting at?"

The girl started to yawn as though she were tired of the talk.

Then, she said "father, if i tell you can i go to sleep?" yawning again and rubbing her eyes.

"Yes sweetheart, you can go to sleep, after you tell me what you mean that is" as he said that with a little chuckle, before he heard….

"honey! Did you tuck her in yet? Come play a game of cards with me." the mother yield enough to not wake any children up but enough for the father to hear.

"I'll be there in a second, dear!" he yelled back the same as the mother did.

"Father" she spoke as he jumped a little.

"Wolves aren't evil for they only act to survive like a human would. We are all the same, even if we look different…." she said as she fell asleep. The father, sitting there at the end of the girls bed was stunned. Then he went down stairs to meet his wife, she asked him why he looked like he had seen a ghost but didn't speak one word or even a sound but just stood there, motionless. After he snape out of it he went to bed and never spoke of it, ever again.
