Chapter 10

The next day, Isaac went to "Anteiku" to take a look. His hotel wasn't so far away, so he only had to walk for 10 minutes. After he walked up the stairs, he opened the door.

*Ding ding* (doorbell)

"Welcom-!" an enthusiastic voice welcomed but got quiet at the end. The one who welcomed him was a girl with purple hair that covered half of her face. After she looked at him, her face paled and she couldn't say another word.

Seeing that Touka didn't speak anymore, a guy with a white eyepatch came over.

"Hello, please take a seat. Do you already know what you want?" the boy asked.

"He probably can't remember my face…" Isaac thought and said, "I came over because I wanted to visit Ms. Ryouko and her daughter. Are they here?"

"Oh, do you know them?"

"I met them yesterday and helped them carrying the luggage," Isaac said.

"Then please wait a moment. I'll make a cup of coffee for you and bring them," the boy said and brought Isaac over to a table near the window.

"Mr. Koma, one cup of coffee please," the boy said to the waiter behind the counter. The waiter had brown hair styled in a pompadour, a bulbous nose. Different to the waiter uniform of the guy, the one behind the counter wore a bow tie.

"Got it, Kaneki," he said and began making it. Meanwhile, Kaneki brought the shocked Touka to the back and disappeared.

"Do you know Touka? She seemed pretty shocked when she saw you," asked Mr. Koma.

"I met her two days ago, that's all…" Isaac said, surprised that this seemed to be a café run by ghouls.

"Is that so… What are you doing here if I may ask? Mr. Isaac, right?" Mr. Koma asked while serving the coffee to Isaac.

"Yes, it's Isaac. I think you could say that I'm just here for a little bit of sightseeing or something like that..."

"You are a tourist?"

"Something like that, yes. I wasn't here before so it's pretty new for me.", Isaac said, taking a sip of coffee, "The coffee is really delicious."

"Thank you very much," Mr. Koma said with a professional smile, "If it's your first time here, may I ask what an impression you get from the CCG and the ghouls here?"

"I would say that both sides seem pretty aggressive to me. The CCG tries to kill all the ghouls while the ghouls kill humans and try to survive. Even though here are a lot more ghouls than in the countryside, the people seem oblivious to it or at least try not to think about it."

"Well, it's a bigger city after all. You come from the countryside?"

"Yes, at my place there are practically no ghouls so I did not come in contact with them as much as here."

"Sounds wonderful... If there were no ghouls at your home, don't you fear Tokyo even a bit?"

"Not really… At least I'm not weak so I don't really fear them…"

"Is that so…"

While the two of them were speaking, a young girl and a mature woman came down. Both walked over and sat down across from Isaac.

"Good Morning Mr. Isaac," Ryouko Fueguchi said.

"Good Morning," Hinami said quietly.

"Good Morning Ms. Ryouko and Hinami. Are you well?"

"Yes, thank you very much. And how are you? I remember that you are new here…did you already go sightseeing?"

"I already know the attractions and am not really interested in going there… And what are your plans if I may ask?"

"I plan to visit someone later, otherwise we don't really have much to do and rarely go outside," Ryouko Fueguchi said with a smile.

"A bit of fresh air is always good… anyway, I just wanted to say hi and try the coffee here. It's really delicious," Isaac said, drinking the last bit of coffee in his cup he had down. After that, he stood up and said, "Well, I'll take my leave. Have a nice day Ms. Ryouko and Hinami."

"The coffee is on us for the help yesterday. Thank you very much again and have a nice day, Mr. Isaac."

"Have a nice day," Hinami said.

"Come by again!" Koma said.

*Ding Ding*

After Isaac left, Touka, the boy and Mr. Yoshimura came down.

"Now that he's away can you tell us what's going on, Touka?" Mr. Yoshimura asked.

"He's the one who saw me…"

"The one you told me about?"

"Yes… Fuck!"

"What's going on?" Ryouko Fueguchi asked bewildered.

"Before that, can you please tell us where you know him from?"

"He is someone who helped us carry our things here yesterday.

"Do you think he targeted you specially?"

"I think he just wanted to help after seeing me and Hinami with a few bags."

"The thing is that he saw Touka and Kaneki in a rather risky situation. He saw how Touka fought against a ghoul and then Touka attacked him too." (AN: I know that Kaneki is actually his last name, but it just sounds sooo much better than Ken)

"And he didn't die?" Koma asked astonished and looked at Touka.

"When I attacked him with a punch, he was able to easily defend and grabbed my arm. After that I wanted to finish him with my kagune but before it was able to hit he ran away…"

"Didn't you run after him?" Koma asked.

"I did, but it was as if he suddenly vanished into thin air."

"What's with you Kaneki?" Koma asked and looked at Kaneki.

"I can't really remember…"

"To sum it up…he saw Touka and Kaneki and definitely know that they are ghouls and now he knows that she works here," Mr. Yoshimura said, "Koma, what feeling did you get from him?"

"It didn't look like he was fearful of Touka and even seemed pretty calm… Considering that he knew that Touka is a ghoul it is definitely strange…" Koma said.

"And what do you think Ms. Ryouko and Hinami?"

"To me, he seemed friendly and helpful. I didn't feel anything special."

"He was nice…" Hinami answered.

"And to you, he looked like a human?"

"Looked like one, smelled like one," Koma answered.

"For me, it's the same," Ryouko Fueguchi answered.

"Could it be that he's from the CCG?"

"I don't think so… He didn't make the impression of being a ghoul investigator," Ryouko Fueguchi said.

"I asked him about his impression on ghouls and the CCG and he answered that to him both of us seem aggressive so I think he isn't someone from the CCG. But something is wrong nevertheless…"
