The next day.
''You make the best food, you know?" Diana said to Ivy while having her breakfast.
''You are up early today,'' Ivy said, taking a seat next to her at the dining table. Usually, they had meals together when everyone was at home, ''And you are eating alone,'' After spending the past few days together, all of them knew that Diana did not like eating alone.
''Not alone. I asked you to sit with me since you said you aren't hungry,'' Diana sipped the juice, ''And Angel is also accompanying me after having her breakfast,'' she smiled at the little girl who was sitting on Ivy's lap, playing with the silk napkins on the table.
''But… Oh, Sir is here,'' Ivy said.
Diana paused. She placed the glass of juice on the dining table and pushed herself to her feet.
Maxim's footsteps slowed down when he saw her.
Diana picked Angel from Ivy's arms, ''Thanks for the breakfast, Ivy. I am a fan of your hand really,'' she winked before walking to her room.
Without looking back at Maxim.
Ivy's jaws dropped.
Logan was not around but if he was here, he should have been as stunned as her. She was sure of that because there hasn't been a day when Diana did not fly around Maxim like a butterfly.
This was a first for them.
''I'll serve the breakfast,'' Ivy turned to look at Maxim.
The man glanced in the direction of the closed door for some time before he walked towards the dining table and picked up a glass of juice. Once he downed it, he looked at her, ''I am getting late.''
''But… that was Dee's juice glass... She even drank from it….'' Ivy mumbled softly once Maxim was out of her sight.
…
The whole day Diana locked herself in her room, playing with Angel when she was awake but once the baby slept, she busied herself on her phone and newspapers to do some news hunting.
She circled the jobs that she found decent but one job caught her attention and appealed to her as no other did.
''We are going to make money, Angel. If things go well, that is,'' she coddled the baby in her arms and walked out of the room.
Ivy was sitting on the couch of the living room, engrossed in her phone and the girl did not even notice her presence till she spoke up, ''Why are you watching tattoos?" Diana asked curiously.
''Oh, you are finally out of your nest,'' Ivy flashed her phone excitedly at Diana, ''In the future, I am planning to get a tattoo of my favorite game character.''
''That sounds cool,'' Diana blinked, ''Hopefully, you won't regret it in the future.''
''Why would I regret it?"
''Because tattoos are permanent. What if your favorite game character is not your favorite anymore in the future? What if someone else takes their place?" Diana touched the bracelet on her wrist, fiddling with it, ''That would be troublesome, right?"
''Ah, that makes sense too,'' Ivy slumped on the couch.
Diana chuckled, ''Ivy, can you take care of Angel for me? I can take her with me but you know, the weather is changing. I don't want her to be sick," For a fact, she knew that she could not keep Angel in the house forever but at least, she could try to keep her extra safe till she gained some experience in handling babies.
Ivy glanced at the watch. It was past 6 pm. ''Right now? Can I ask where you are going?" she asked, proceeding to take Angel from her arms.
''You're being nosy,'' Diana chided but as Ivy pouted, she continued speaking, ''I had shortlisted a few jobs but one of them is really suitable for me,'' she turned her phone towards Ivy.
The glow in Ivy's eyes dimmed once she read the words written in bold letters.
…
''Good Evening, Miss. What would you like to buy?"
Diana's eyes roamed across the beautiful diamond sets on the display inside the jewelry store ''I would like to sell something.''
''Sure. Can I see them?"
Diana removed her diamond earrings before she proceeded to remove the diamond bracelet from her hand, revealing a small heart tattoo right under the spot where her bracelet was.
''Oh my god, are these Tiffany diamonds? This... This bracelet has only 3 pieces in the world..."
''Yes, they are,'' Diana smiled.
The saleslady gasped, looking at Diana like she was some goddess, ''Bring juice and snacks for Ma'am,'' she said to the other staff members.
Diana blinked, ''Please, I am fine,'' she shook her head as she leaned back on the leather couch.
''Miss, are you sure you want to sell them off? You can choose to pawn them. In that way, you can get them back in the future if you want,'' the saleslady kindly explained.
''I'd go with selling them,'' Diana said.
She loved her precious babies too much to lose them but right now, she was getting to know how important money was.
She would love to have these back but with her current financial condition, she won't be able to pay for the loan even if she pawned it.
Bidding a sad goodbye to her diamonds, she left the shop with a heavier bank account that can last her for over a year if she did not spend the money extravagantly. The time was long enough for her to find a decent job and settle down.
The next stop was at a shopping mall where Diana brought herself a knee-length blue dress and got changed into it before she headed to her final destination.
Once she stepped out of the cab, she glanced at the tall building in front of her eyes. Inhaling a deep breath, she headed inside.
