The Big One!

It's past 8:00 am when station one occupants were very glad, seeing Baldur and George back in the cave.

" Hey! hey! where are you both going? why such in a hurry and treated us all here like bothersome posts, tree trunks or statues, hey! Baldur, George, what's the matter with you?" Albrecht followed them in one of the empty cubicle where Magee was on a rush too. Then in a while, George took out the Daba Times from his bag and he sat down on a log just as Baldur removed his hat and stayed beside the lieutenant. Minutes after, Magee curiously looked at George with a smile.

" Now they're a bit shaky, some troops ready to help us might be coming, isn't it?" She turned her head to Baldur too.

" Hmm...probably, that's why officer Orlando's team are now within the barracks." George whispered.

" Barracks? how come they're offering themselves inside that den? How stupid!" Magee desperately bowed her head.

" There's I think a truckload of plan, perhaps. A military man won't tactically do it without a purpose. Something might be very interesting that's why he gambled to infiltrate inside the enemy's place. Baldur...please prepare our men, this isn't a subtle plan I know." George sighed and looked to Baldur.

" What is in the news that made you heavily think, they still have the power." Baldur uttered.

" I think, there's a huge remark out there."

" Nothing." The lieutenant blurted while breathlessly looked to nothingness.

" Hmm...then why we'll reinforce and send ourselves as backup when there's nothing wrong at all?" Baldur pressed his head.

" What is it?" Magee heavily asked as she sat beside his husband.

This war is almost ending, it seems...that's my point."

It made Baldur meaningfully smile and grabbed the newspaper.

" Wow...this must be an exciting fight ahead. Here then, hmm...but why the barracks people were celebrating this much, camouflaging, showing they're just on their foot with ease. Interesting! I smelled something fishy too! George...would this mean that..."

" ....an ultimatum attack they have preempted. That's why the news says the way they want it to be. But we can sense their tension. Adding more fighters from overseas despite their celebration to our fall was a facade. Just prepare for our men Baldur, our lost commando can still be their speck. The captain has already given me his order in manning the troop so we will fight! Guerrillas who are interested may join." George picked up his wife's left hand and pressed it on his lap.

" George..." She gently mumbled as she leaned her cheek on his shoulder.

" But it would still commence in the next two weeks, I mean the opponents' additional militants." Baldur whispered while sipping his ginger tea.

" No. It would be a week from now, I'm sure. "

" But how about Officer Orlando's team within the barracks that we have suspected? They'll be in trouble if we leave them alone." Baldur's worrisome thoughts.

" I had a lot of thinking and came up interpreting that Officer Orlando's team was maybe on the other side of this place, spying. Likewise, try to reread the news, the additional soldiers of the opponents, yes, their comrades coming would be tenting in Makasido. Intriguing, we all know that it's in the northern part, too far from the shoreline where their ships will surely dock on array. And see why they need to announce that they'll be in Makasido. Definitely, they'll be disembarking their weapons...down there, in Tikaban, just few steps away from here. and definitely not in the far flung Makasido." George uttered while the captain was just listening from the corner.

" Interesting! so, that would mean that officer Orlando's team is in Tikaban's opposite ridgeline right now, and just probably awaits for a perfect timing. Hmm...but how come they never shared the plan." Baldur immediately took out the journal from his bagpack and started writing their recent journey with George in San Agustin and at the same time, he wrote in synopsis what he has read from the Daba Times.

" It must be something else, the final pace or shall we say, the big one is coming. There might be a huge number of backups from the unified forces, it must be..." The captain uttered in exhaustion.

" It must be, Dad...it must be, and maybe officer Orlando had attempted to collaborate with us early on, only that, they maybe went over to our empty granite house. Sadly when they found us all gone, they probably worked for it on their own and assumed that we're all dead beaten up or imprisoned. Hmm...but we'll find them Baldur, Albrecht...please take care of everyone inside. Baldur and I will find out first the frontline serving this time. They need us." The lieutenant uttered.

Its almost 10:00 am when the lieutenant and Baldur left station one. They carefully fled in uniform with some packed food that Magee has prepared.

" Kuya, what do you think..."

" Mag, this isn't good. It's daytime, the enemies are all over the place. We should have stopped them. They can go for that mission at twilight, why now?" Albrecht muttered.

" George was in a hurry...there are few things that's urgent that he thought of knowing or the other way around. Rushing with hands too empty is dangerous than risking with a bigger plan. Perhaps, George need a little help from us, his family and comrade. Albrecht...you better massage my knees, don't worry about them. They know where's the way back home. Come, I'm more problematic than your siblings on duty, hehe." The captain smiled.

" Oh dear! yes, copy Dad." Albrecht then carried the captain in his place and massaged him using the coconut oil.

After several minutes, Albrecht stood up with his sweats all around.

" How is it Dad, are you feeling better now?" Yes, but I guess your sister flew like an eagle, did you notice her when she left? about 15 minutes ago.

" What? Did she....." Then Albrecht grabbed his shirt, wore it while on the run going up to the mabolo trunk passage.

" The hard headed girl is on the run again! such a spoiled brat! My goodness...this isn't funny at all." Albrecht murmured.
