Hidden Agenda

Boom! Boom!

" I woke up with another metallic sound of ammunitions and historical bombings. I don't know,

whenever they drop some, I feel like dying without seeing Madelleine, oh dear." Albrecht murmured

while pressing his head beside the long table at the kitchen.

"That's just a way of their military exercise or maybe just to threaten us around. But anyway, yes, my

sister's waiting for you that's why we need to survive, alright. Need to go with the rest and send our

final plan to collaborate with them, take a look of her, you know what I mean. " George smiled.

" Ah! Another headache! Can I pick some assignments that I can better perform and to not to watch

over a stubborn sister, oh holy souls! After the war you may let her join the army." Albrecht pouted

while preparing the table.

"Haha! No. She musn't. She just feel the need of helping with her might, we're not enough for our

enemies. That's why it's expected for anyone, even the priest, remember Fr. Matias before? He helped

us too in some ways. Wait, his name just sink into my mind for no reason, kinda' curious. If he's now

with Officer Orlando and was officiating a mass, but why nobody informed us when this place has the

nearest path going to officer Orlando's place?" George curiously said without him knowing that Baldur

was already beside him for a long time.

" True, haven't thought of that when we were there yesterday and we never even insisted of asking to

see the priest." Baldur deeply uttered while stirring his coffee with reed stick into a bamboo mug.

"Hmm...does this mean that they lied? And Fr. Matias was just in station two, maybe, and not in officer

Orlando's place. Change destination, we'll spy in station two tonight, the noise I've heard following us

before seeing Albrecht were prying of our hideout. But what all of these mean?" George looked into

nothingness.

Everyone's in the long table and waited for George to come back in reality when captain Edward just talk

while starting a bite of his boiled white cassava.

" Hmm, I smell something fishy son. I wish to help you deal with it but there's a matter-of-fact hidden

agenda."

" Yes Dad, but why? What for?"

" Son, this is wartime. We need not to trust anyone we see, not even our very own shadows."

" Huh...so this means, if we go to station two, eyes will be snooping at us and will trace our whereabouts

when we return here and what's in our place they are interested of? They were even there in the granite mountain before, so what's exactly they would want in our new location? Okay, I guess they only

knew Fr. Matias, and consider him as a bait here. They possibly knew where station two is, for pinning

the priest's name, it's all possible, so we need not to draw near the place and study the vicinity. Alright,

this is a one false move issue, Baldur, let's carry on." George picked up his handgun and called Baldur.

" I'll go with you." Albrecht insisted.

" No, our family needs you here, besides, we will just observe and get any information in station two. I

need our caucus with the other troop to be reliable, if not we'll quit with the alliance. Just stay here bro,

we'll return right away and we'll just be alright." George answered.

" Okay, careful." Albrecht sighed.

It was enough and Magee packed up some cassava inside their knapsacks and the two right away left.

It's a hay day filled with sunbeam. George keenly walked first and Baldur followed so warily. Whenever

George finds a cluster of mushrooms he picks it all and Baldur does the same. It's almost half a kilometre

away from station one when they saw more than ten enemies in between Tikaban and the granite

mountain. It made them watchfully trekked the cliff beside the guard post and below it was nauseous

and a sickening depth. They have sweats all over while snatching the tree roots that they see while

dragging each from the other. Till such a time that they have moved few meters from the guard post

and even successfully reached to the safe place. From the safe place, they need to traverse to the

slanted path, going down in the direction opposite to the granite mountain. After a short rest under the

century trees, they drew nearer to station two. Across station two were taller trees enough for them to

hide.

" Brother, we'll observe from here. If whosoever from them gets out, we need to secretly bring anyone

here for briefing, we never know what happens to them too, so to say. We need not to go there, how

are you?"

" Got it, yeah, I'm fine. Just thirst, my sweats were flooding, haha!. Better that Mayumi put this

container filled with water in my bag after Magee packed up some cassava, we'll, it's here, let's take our

lunch, c'mon."

" You eat first, I'll take mine after you can rest too. I'll use the telescope and look if there are any who

are snooping around. So there! Bruno went out, he tried to check around, then somebody from the

inside closed the rock. Hmm...he's carefully moving forty-five degree east away from us, haha...what is

he doing. Ah, it's Cerenia waiting for him, they hid behind the tree...she....she pulled his pants and...put

something inside his pocket. There! Oh my...some three to five men rushed to arrest them. Sadly, he

covered his face and it seems they're telling them something important." George described.

"Oh what...what are they doing! We'll rescue them, what a poor Bruno and that woman!" Baldur whispered.

" No, no, wait for a while bro, Cerenia's face was also covered, we can't rescue them straight away, for a

while, let's wait for a while. Followed that scene, Cerenia angrily kicked one of the men but she was

heavily slapped, oh holy soul! Bruno punched those who are peering him badly...but they got him once

more, oh dear!" George was sweating again, but still holding the telescope breathlessly and thinking

about the next move.

Eventually, the men released them without removing the cloth on their faces and instructed Bruno and

Cerenia to walk down a little along with Bruno. The enemies haven't noticed the lieutenant and Baldur

for moving too quickly to their direction. When these men almost pull the trigger towards Cerenia and

Bruno, George threw a bomb on them. It was enough for Baldur to run and called Cerenia and Bruno's

names and grabbed them in the corner. Cerenia was crying while Bruno was grateful to his comrades

for rescuing them. Without wasting their time, Baldur relayed to them the possibilities and they right

away informed everyone inside about it. George remained outside and readied his weapons and

meticulously manning outside. When everyone had packed up, they got out by two's and headed north,

it's the exact location heading to the granite mountain.
