C33 Wonder

"Back up number 7, of course if you do want to die walk forwards," damned idiot, I tell them to spread out and he immediately rushes in. Rolls grabs him and throws him away, that's the first time I've seen his power, it could be useful in many ways. "Hello mortals," I know I'm not the only one who hears it because most of the others cover their ears, I've dealt with my own demon long enough, I know that I can't block it out. I rush forwards, moving as fast as I can, before it starts tempting anyone with rewards I need to kill it.

"I see inside your souls, I know what you want, and I can give it as well." It jerks away as my sword slide along the edge of its chest, a line splits across its chest but it doesn't bleed, in my mind my own demon hisses, she sounds angry, "how dare you think to come after my prey!" Her voice eclipses his and he trembles slightly, suddenly he becomes far more interested in me "a human that can wield a demon, even if it is sealed. This meal will be good." He rushes me this time and I roll to dodge the attack, unlike him I'll bleed, and I can't afford to right now. Suddenly we both turn to look out to the distance, the demon hisses and I laugh, "sir?" I grin as the demon tries to back away, i toss my sword out and manage to pierce him, it doesn't do much damage but he falls. "We have backup. You kids get to see a legend, in the flesh." Even I've never seen this one, I know of him though. The demon screams as my own laughs, she's damaging him, but he still manages to get up and start running, I tackle him to the ground, and get an elbow in my ribs for the trouble, and I manage to block the second one, I grab the sword and pull it out, trying to take off his leg, if he can't walk he can't run. I manage to cut it but the bone is too strong, however it doesn't matter. On the horizon scales light up, the sun glares off them. "Who, are you? How dare, a demon enter here." He speaks slowly, and his voice sends chills down my back, but then again, I've never liked snakes. With almost no time to spare the snake is already gaining in us, it'll be here soon. "You, human, thank you for, stopping this demon." I pull the sword out and walk away, my ribs hurt where he hit me but it feels good, I get to watch this thing squirm. "Little mortal, you'll die for this, I swear it upon that sword you hold!" He starts limping away, and the snake follows, they get into a battle far away from us, this is the snakes way of thanking me I'd guess, if not he'd have fought it here, and probably killed us all. "That... that was a legend? I didn't know they were so... legendary." Anyone whos never seen a legend would be thrown off by the aura alone, much less the size of the snake.

"Sir, Calypso asked earlier, but now it's even more apparent, why don't you have any fear?" I slow down and finally turn to look at Steven, he's walking beside rolls and calypso, but they haven't been talking much, like everyone else this is their first time seeing a legend, it takes a while to get over seeing a power that exists beyond you. Steven wasn't one of the ones I thought would ask, I must have underestimated his spirit. After looking at him for a time I notice the glint in his eyes, the spirit that burns inside. "Thank you Steven, you made me realize I've been underestimating you, and various others." I hadn't thought much of Ataraxes' words before, nor had I thought of the way Alvana clings to me, even betraying her higher powers. "I forget sometimes, that I have many connections in life now." I stop and look at the sky for a moment, it's light enough that Celeste can still see me, maybe she's smarter than I thought. "You want to know why I have no fear? What if I told you that every step I take is full of it?" I turn around and look at him, raising an eyebrow. Everyone stops, surrounding us to hear better. I sigh and sit down, everyone follows my lead after a second or so. "I am afraid." I stop to take it back and stop again, after a moment I nod 'you are? Now I understand who you are.' I hesitate when she says that but after a moment continues "we just fought a demon. Demons haven't been seen in this world for three hundred years. We sealed all the breaches they'd created even though it cost us the strongest forces humanity and the beasts had to do it. Now the demons have been sighted again, now they're coming back, and we aren't nearly back to our full power. Our individual beings are stronger yes, but if you were to fight a grunt... you wouldn't have any chance; and would you believe me if I told you that you all had the experience of an A rank hunter already? Do you want to know the secret rule to become S rank?" A few nods but most of the older students just continue to watch me. "It is to replicate the aura of a legend." I look around at them and finally close my eyes, tensing up I stimulate the power inside me, I open my eyes slowly and it washes out, not like Rens or Celeste, whose powers burst out, mine just covers the surroundings, you feel suppressed by my power. "This is the difference in blood. You've felt Celestes, do you remember Celie? Do you remember how the power of her aura wrapped around you all when she was protecting you? Mine isn't like that, mine was made for battle, mine was made to suppress. she was actually protecting you from my aura in the fight with the scorpion." I sigh and cover my face, looking up to the sun. "I'm not explaining this right. Celeste is the most powerful being alive currently, that we know of. Her aura will trump any aura that tries to clash with her, however she seeks to protect those at her back, she isn't a hunter. I had to fight and watch my own back at the same time. I was raised with the beasts. That's why my code name is Beast." I don't think I've ever told anyone here my code name, of course alvana and her son would know it. Now that I think about it I don't even know her sons name, has she ever told me? "My aura is like a beasts, we use it in the fight, just like we do our teeth, claws, and skills. The one who's aura is stronger is the greater force, usually it settles disputes before we shed blood. The thing is that I am a human, one who practices magic, I can hide and use my aura at will. That's why you all don't feel my aura. even today, the only time you should've been able to feel my aura was during the demon fight, I had to use all my skills and powers just to stay alive, you all don't see it though do you? You want to know why I'm not afraid of anything? I believe in my power more."
