The Beginning

ELLE'S POV

The sun was shining again, I walked down each step. I met Daddy who was eating his breakfast.

"Good Morning Dad!"

"Morning, Sweetheart! How did you sleep last night?"

"It was good, Dad." I ate a plate of sandwich that was available on the plate.

"Oh yeah. Daddy has replaced your bodyguard with a new one."

Instantly, I stopped eating the breakfast that I was enjoying. My eyes widened at the sentence he just said from his mouth.

"Didn't I hear wrong?"

"No, sweetie."

"Oh my God! Daddy, I've been eighteen years legally, I'm free to go anywhere as long as I leave a message. Besides, I didn't ask daddy to replace it, but to cancel it."

"Daddy didn't promise to fulfill your request, did I? Besides, there was only one bodyguard, Elle. He was young, the people around you wouldn't realize that he was a bodyguard."

"Okay."

I chose to end the conversation. It's useless, I won't be able to change a king's decision. I regained my focus on finishing this portion of the sandwich and then finish a glass of milk.

"I got to go."

"Take care, Sweetheart."

After saying goodbye to daddy, I went to the front yard to meet the new guard. Our eyes met. I admit what daddy said at the dinner table was true. He is too handsome to be a bodyguard. More suitable to be a model or film actor. Even so, I think he is not much different from my previous bodyguards. He still must follow all the existing protocols.

"Good morning, Princess Elle. My name is Christian, Christian Ozera."

"Morning. Hmm ... Okay, let's go."

Our journey was quiet, only a few words said. That is only necessary. When I arrived on campus, Flora was waiting for me at the lobby campus. While each pair of eyes fixed on Christian who was opening the car door for me.

"Oh, Lord! What kind of God's creation did you bring to this campus?" she said as she pulled my wrist away from where Christian stood.

"He's my new bodyguard. Luckily it's just one, imagine if there are more than one like him."

"King Edmund really has very good eyesight."

"What do you mean, Flo?" I frowned.

"My God, Elle. Don't you see it? He's a model, his charms are like a prince."

"Princess Flora Santionova from the Kingdom of Salfocania, I know, but still she is a bodyguard. Which will certainly be annoying like most bodyguards in general," I said with a tone of emphasis.

"Well, whatever you say. To be sure, if I were you, I wouldn't let it get far from me."

Yes, Flora, she is my best friend. She is indeed very observant of the good looks and charm that every man has. I admit that her ex is really good-looking. The great thing that I can learn from Flora is that she was never broken by her ex. Somehow she can be like that. And also most of her ex still hopes to reconcile.

All the classes that I took today are over. I chose to sit in the park to just chat with Christian. Of course, I do not want to spend a day close to people who do not know their origins.

"So where are you from?" I opened the question while sipping a cup of hot chocolate.

"Shoreditch, Princess." He mentioned one district in London.

"How old are you?"

"25 years old."

Our chat continues. It turned out that he was quite pleasant. Judging from the way he answered all the questions I asked, he had very broad knowledge. Our chat stopped when Peter approached me.

"Hi, Elle! Can I talk to you?"

"Yes, of course. What's up?"

"I want to ask, are you willing to accompany me at my father's charity event tonight?"

"Yes, I'm very happy if I can help."

"Okay. I'll pick you up at 8 pm at your place. Bye!"

"Bye, Peter."
