War Against Thieves 3

"What's the good news?"

"After you left we tried to hit the arrows in the wells, luckily we had many opportunities and managed to hit 5 more arrows, one arrow in the well where you and Alex had hit the 3 arrows."

"So this well is also poisoned, we hit 2 arrows in the well where we had hit 2 arrows yesterday, so this well is also poisoned, and two other arrows in another well."

"This means that 3 wells are poisoned and one of the wells already has 2 poisoned arrows and now only 2 more are missing."

Jack was expecting bad news, but from what he heard, he realized that the news couldn't be better, with them having poisoned 3 wells and poisoned half of another well meant that the thieves no longer had clean water in their wells.

Even if not all thieves were completely poisoned, it was certain that all thieves would be weaker, they also could not know which well was best for them to drink water.

So either they closed all the wells or they would have to drink water in all the wells, Jack's goal in this mission was never to kill the poisoned thieves because he would also have to kill the women and children who were at the base of the thieves.

Jack's goal was just to make the thieves have to leave their base to get more water, Jack knew that the thieves already knew that they were being attacked and that the thieves in Robin's group should already be dead.

"What is the bad news?"

"The bad news is that even if we hit 5 arrows, we ended up missing 8 arrows, in one of the wells there were 4 arrows and the thieves who were on watch were called to see the arrows that were on the ground near 3 wells."

"When the last group left, the thieves had increased surveillance at their base and they had closed the wells and were only opening to draw a lot of water and deliver it to residents in closed pots."

Jack understood that this was really bad news, of course, he hoped it could happen, in fact, the worst thing that could happen was that they couldn't hit that many arrows.

But with 3 poisoned wells and half of the other poisoned well Jack's plan had already worked, it was a pity that they would not have the opportunity to also poison the last well if the thieves were lucky enough to drink more water in that well they could last longer.

"As you were sleeping, we decided not to let the soldiers try to shoot the arrows anymore, after all, we think that the thieves who are watching could find out where we were and our mission would fail."

"That was a good decision, you could be found if you stayed there, I think we should stop this part of the mission for a few days, I think the wells are already well poisoned and in a few days we will see the thieves having more problems."

Jack decided to make the archers no longer try to shoot the arrows after he heard that the thieves were suspicious, this was because the tree where they stayed was very close to the thieves' base.

This was normal for their mission of having to shoot arrows into the wells at the thieves 'base, but it also meant that if they were discovered the archers who were at the thieves' base could also shoot arrows at them.

Soon all the soldiers heard about Jack's decision and they were anxious about it, they were grateful to know that this part of their mission had been canceled because Jack cared about them.

But they were also concerned because they could not be sure that after almost two weeks the thieves would still have to leave their base to fetch water even though not all of the wells had been poisoned.

While Jack was doing this part of the mission with the other soldiers he still went every day to feed the captive thief, he had said that he would leave the thief without eating, but that was only when he could no longer feed him.

Jack and the other soldiers were still going to hunt every day and pick up fruit, even though he couldn't feed all 100 soldiers, each soldier who ate without using their stored food gave them another day to live.

In the best days, Jack and the archers hunted enough food to feed more than half of the 100 soldiers, so their mission that had to last 3 weeks could last for more than half the time thanks to these hunts.

Soon another week passed, Jack was still going every day to watch the thieves' base, the thieves were still watching looking for enemies and the wells were closed, the good news was that after that week Jack saw that several people at the base of the thieves started to get sick.

The thieves did not understand why people suddenly started to get sick if it were just women and children he might think it was a lack of food, but even the strong soldiers started to get weaker and look sick.

Fortunately, even though several people got sick at the same time, the disease didn't seem serious, besides the sick people vomiting and feeling weak they were still fine, the problem was that they gave even more water to the sick people.

It was normal to give more water when a person was sick, but when the water was poisoned they were making people's symptoms even worse, in addition, people used this water to wash food and to bathe which made the situation even more serious.

Not even Jack had thought that much before creating this plan if the thieves didn't quickly discover the problem and wait another week, they would be too weak and sick to fight even if they decided to leave their base to get more water.

What Jack hadn't thought about when he created this plan was that thieves could never have imagined that their water was poisoned, that was something they didn't even know was possible without a traitor putting the poison directly into the well.

Hector ordered the wells to be closed because he wanted to protect the wells from the arrows that the enemies fired, but he never thought that there was poison in the arrows and that the enemies managed to poison the wells of the base using these arrows.

So Jack thought that if the thieves didn't find out in 1 more week that the problem was water, he would personally tell the thieves that the problem was water, that would give the thieves an option to go out and fight, or stay and die.
