Chapter Twenty One

It had been a long week, but spending it with Adaria made it all worth it. She'd make dinner every night while I went through all the information that she'd found. I'd wash dishes while she cleaned around the house and took care of the laundry. Then when we were ready to go to bed we'd take turns going into the bathroom and showering and getting ready for bed. Then we'd crawl into bed and snuggle for a while, falling asleep together.

It was finally Saturday. Adaria was in the kitchen cooking something and I was putting on my suit. Adaria had laid her evening dress on the bed, a shimmering light green, noodle strapped dress. Simple, yet elegant. The night before I had helped her dye her hair a coppery color. I personally preferred her natural raven black, but my father would recognize her instantly.

I was fixing my tie in the bathroom mirror when Adaria's slender arms came around my waist.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

"Mm hm." She hummed. "You look really handsome today." I grinned.

"You say that everyday." I laughed.

"But it's true, especially today. I've never seen you wear such an exquisite suit before." I turned.

"And I've never seen a more beautiful dark-haired woman before." I cupped my hands around her face. "How are you going to hide your ears tonight?" I asked while kissing her forehead. She giggled.

"You'll see."
