CHAPTER NINE

Inside the lady carriage, Jasmine was playing with Iris while the lady closed her eye and was trying to read the mind of the people surrounding her from the carriage, a knock came from the window. "Yes, what is it?" the lady asked.

"Arthur sent me to ask, 'what should we do now?'" Carlos delivered the message to her.

"Nothing, we are going to do nothing, just stay on the wagon and don't move no matters what the people says," the lady instructed.

"Yes, milady," Carlos said as he left her carriage. He arrived at the first carriage.

"What did she say?" Arthur asked Carlos as he saw him.

"She said to do nothing, that we should just watch and do nothing no matter the people reaction or what they say," Carlos answered him.

Inside the white carriage, the lady was pilling up her tea set since she was done using it.

"Seems as if she is a little bit stubborn," Dan said. "Up till now, she hasn't uttered a word, she is making me look like a fool in front of my supporters," Dan spoke out angrily.

"Maybe she is bidding her time," the lady replied.

"Isn't the guards' taking part in this plan?" The lady asked.

"No, they are not, I haven't been able to infiltrate their midst and the only reason why I am still blocking the entrance is because of my influence," Dan said.

"Not bad, but I have important things to do," the lady said getting impatient after some time.

"Why don't you go down the carriage and deal the finishing move, we have to get that package, no matter what," the lady urged him.

"Be patient, Jane, you are always running around doing something," the man said. "What are you up to this time around?" he asked.

"It is a secret," Jane replied.

"You know, I let you in on my plan, why won't you tell me yours?" Dan asked.

"The only reason you let me know about your plan is because I am the only person that can help you, even if I tell you what I am up to, you can't be of help to me," she said.

"Ouch! That hurts, but one day, you will tell me about it, won't you?" Dan asked.

"Maybe one day," the lady said as she closed her eye. This man is really a fool, does he think he is of any importance once I've succeeded in my plan. The only thing keeping us together is because we are family. A fool, that is what he is, their perception level is so low in this kingdom, it is easy to infiltrate and possess their body, ha, ha, ha, the lady laughed wickedly in her mind, you really think you got everything planned, really a fool …

The lady isn't being pressurized by the people I placed there, I have done everything and all have been executed perfectly, should I execute the last card as Jane said, wouldn't it be too fast, there is nothing they can do since their power is sealed, maybe I should use force to collect the package from her, the man thought.

Silus arrived at the gate, keeping the imperial guards hidden while he went to a corner as he waits as he had been instructed by the king. He saw another carriage coming over to the kingdom gate from the kingdom, this will be really interesting, an unadorned carriage versus a well-furnished and adorned carriage.

The open back wagon that has arrived earlier and was pulled by a horse that looks exhausted; has young children between the ages of 8 to 12 in the open back wagon. They also waited by the gate. From behind the driver, a small boy saw Nicholas and pointed him out. "See, that guy is also dressed the same way that we are dressed, isn't he part of us? Why does he get to sit with those clothed in fine clothes?" a young voice rang asked asking the wagon driver.

"Keep quiet. Don't ask silly questions, can't you tell that he is well taking care of?" The wagon driver shut him up.

"My work is to deliver you to the servant training center and until I deliver you people there, please don't cause any unnecessary trouble," the wagon driver pleaded with them. "And once I am done, I'm going to get my pay," the wagon driver said daydreaming of how he was going to spend the money.

Nicholas looked towards the wagon and saw the group of children, they are hunger stricken and seems to lack care, is that why they are brought over here to work? He thought.

Arthur heard everything from the carriage beside them and wasn't bothered by them, this happen a lot, occasionally; there was always a request to bring the people of the rocks to the kingdom since they love to work a lot.

"Carlos, will you go and meet the lady and asked her about her opinion again?" Arthur said. "Wait, there is no need to disturb her," he stopped Carlos before he could go to the lady.

If Dan could pace, he could have being pacing due to his anxiety and restlessness, but he couldn't since he was inside the carriage. "Just wait, the people will pressurize her and if that doesn't work, I will reveal my next move," Dan said aloud when he couldn't hold it in anymore. "The king won't know what hit him, by now, he should be aware that I am no longer in my house and he will be troubled," Dan said smiling.

"Don't celebrate your victory yet, there might be a change in the tide," Jane cautioned him.

"Why are you always a kill joy?" Dan asked as he calmed down. "What other possibilities is there, if he isn't panicking that he has useless officials that can't perform their jobs," the man said.

"It's just a warning, I have a feeling that we won't succeed to pull this one off," Jane said.

"Just relax, you worry too much," Dan laughed feeling carefree. "Have you forgotten that I have forged a massive from the king?"

"You what!" Jane almost screamed out before she calmed down, "don't you know that is a punishable offense?"

"That is the final card, and I won't get caught," Dan said confidently.

"I am not in on this," Jane said, "Why don't we go back? I have a bad feeling about this." As far as she knows, Dan was the most idiotic person she had ever had the misfortunate of meeting after taking over this body. The portion she use this morning will soon be fading out and she had to do something about it, otherwise he will know that she isn't the real Jane and that will end in disaster.

The unadorned carriage arrived at the gate and had to wait behind Dan carriage. Unknown to the carriage driver; he talks out in anger. "Who is the idiotic being that packed a carriage on the road?" he asked loudly into the air.

There was lot of gasps as the people couldn't believe that someone dared do such. Discussion broke out among the people delayed at the gate.

"He must be blind if he doesn't know whose carriage that is," one person said.

"His family must have offended the gods of the land," another man said. "He must have avoided his family prayer today."

"Someone has the misfortunate of meeting the bad omen," Tobias said in a singsong voice, "I can't believe this, I can't wait for what is about to happen."

"Do you have a grudge with the carriage driver?" Arthur asked. "You seem so excited at the sight of seeing someone in trouble."

"It's being long since something fun like this happened," Tobias replied back, "I just want to see if Dan will come down in anger."

"Oh, I get it," Carlos join in the conversation, "if he comes down that will prove that he has been lying about being sick."

"Yes, you are smart, you got on track quickly," Tobias praised Carlos. "That way, he has no choice but to apologize to the lady and everyone that has been kept waiting for long."

"Just let watch and see, he might not come down," Arthur said. "He has been patient since his arrival."

"Ouch! What an eyesore? Someone has the misfortune to be impatient," Silus said from the corner that he was, I can't believe that this coachman is quite hyper that he crossed the line by what he said. Really, an unfortunate person, Silus shakes his head.

"Your coachman seems rather hyper," the beggar man said to the man in the unadorned carriage. "He has landed himself in trouble with your cousin, what will you do about it?"

"Nothing," the man replied, as he relaxes on the seat. "He started it he might as well solve it, that should teach him a lesson."

"Is that how you treat your subject?" the beggar man asked.

"Do you expect me to go down now and expose myself?" the man asked. "I can't let him know that I came to this place. In fact, it was good that he said that, that will lead to some distraction." The man said as he rearranged the chess piece, "and you are here, you know how to resolve the situation."

"Are you dumping everything on me?" the beggar man asked in disbelief. "Argh! You are growing irresponsible whenever I am with you," he shook his head, "if not because I watch you grow, I would have beaten your bum until it is red, but no, you are grown up."

The man smiled, "do you think you will go scot-free if you do that?"

"Are you threatening me? It's like you need another lesson," the beggar man said as he reaches out for his ear, "I can twist it until it is red," twisting it until the man started pleading for mercy, "you lagged off in your practice, didn't I tell you to practice lobi technique, that will strengthen your ear."

"I am sorry, I have been busy, please free my ear, I promise I won't threaten you again," the man begged.

"This isn't the first time, why should I believe you this time around?" the beggar man asked, after some minutes, he releases the man ear, "you better be thankful I am in a good mood to play today, if not …"

"Thank you very much," the man said as he rubs his ear. "You almost tore my ear off." He murmurs under his breathe.

"You know I can hear you," the beggar man said as he looks at the man. "Dan just instructed his coach man to challenge yours, my hand is getting itching," the beggar man said as he blows air on his hand.

I pity Dan, he is in for a hard time today, the man said in his heart.
