"How sure are you?" Peter asked the lady. Although it wasn't that he would care if they don't accept him. "I'm 100% sure. Just prove yourself and your certificate then you will have the job, it only your behavior that will determine your days here." The clerk warned.
"Thanks for your time." Peter left for the deputy director office. Since he got to the company, the female staff he had seen were more than male, most of them were security. He can't wait to start working there, so he can have beautiful days. When he got to the top floor, he asked the security the office of the deputy director, the security directed him to the office with greet respect. The security seeing a well dressed young man, thinking he would be the son of one of the high-ups. Peter really find it fun, he wanted to know how the man facial expression would be if he knew he was here for an interview. "Sir, I don't know if people who are here for interview have started, I hope I'm not late." He said while walking along with the security man who was taking him to the deputy director office. The security stopped facing Peter, "so you are here for interview?" Staring at Peter as if he wants to see through him. Peter replied with a nod, "ok, you just have to go straight and turn at the corner you will be seeing, the office you are going to is right at the front of the corner." The security man said and left for his post. Peter didn't know if he should cry or laugh, people like that couldn't be trusted because they could change anytime. He hated people like that, who would lick your boots when you have power but would kick you down once you are powerless. He saw the office when he turned at the corner, knocked on the door, he was told to come in. Upon entering the office, he saw a lady on sit, he wanted to have a sit but he didn't because he feels something wasn't right. Although he didn't know that it's not good to sit when one wasn't asked to, but he followed his instinct.
"You can have your sit." The lady instructed after a while, she hadn't raised her head up since Peter got in. It was obvious that she was busy, Peter remained seated appreciating the well equipped office. One could smell huge money just by looking around. After a while the lady closed the file in front of her and kept it somewhere else. She then raised her head, she was surprised to see the young man before her. "How may I help you?" She asked.
"I heard that there is a vacancy here, so I'm here to try my luck." Peter replied.
"But we are through with the interviews, even the candidates who were qualified had started working. The only post we haven't see a candidate for is language expert. We have already stopped the advertisement on it since we didn't see any one coming for it interview." She explained.
"I came particular for the post of language expert."
"You are a language expert?" She was amazed that a young man like him would be a language expert. Peter responded with a nod. "Can you show me your certificate?" Peter gave her his certificates, including his master degree certificate. The lady could not believe her eyes, "sorry for the offense but how old are you?"
"I will be 21 years old in some months." Peter replied earnestly.
"How many foreign language have you acquired?"
"Five. Chinese, French, Dutch, German, Spanish." Peter could speak more than 10 foreign languages, he only mentioned 5 so as not to frighten the lady. He could speak Chinese, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Japanese, Latin, Greek, Italian, Belgian, Russian among others. He was able to learn so many language during the Rwanda war through foreigners and scholars. Kidnapped by his then boss. The origin of the interest in languages was when he got to Rwanda from Nigeria with his parents, his mom told him that there are many more countries other than Rwanda and Nigeria with different languages; so one would have to learn their language if one wants to adapt to their environment. Since then he became determined he would understand as many languages as he can so he could travel to those countries. The people who taught him their languages were surprised with the kind of brain he had because he never forget what he was told the previous day, which helped him to understand those languages quickly and could speak them fluently. One of the scholars concluded that he had an eidetic memory. Only he knew that all his ability was as a result of the herbs he was soaked in by his grandfather. He remembered before his parents came to take him, he would be soaked in different herbs by his grandfather per day.
After being amazed for a while she then brought out some papers, on it were passage writing in different languages. She asked Peter to read and explained the content. When Peter was reading out fluently, she was convinced. When Peter explained everything, "you should drop your application letter, photo copies of your documents and your phone number with the lady you saw while coming in, then we would get back to you before the end of the day.
