In His Room (I)

Luckily for him, he saw a place to purchase a phone and the Sim card. The phone he bought was among those with the lowest price since he only need it for calling and receiving calls. He also credited the Sim after he had insert it into his phone. He immediately called Rose. "Peter, is that you?" Rose asked before Peter could say anything, it seemed she had been expecting the call. "Yes, I'm sorry for not calling earlier." Peter apologized. "You are not doing well at all, you are just calling me after all this while." Rose said. "Well it's good that you later remembered to give me a call. The boss had called me twice thinking I was the one who had not send your number. She said I should forward your number to him immediately I got it, so don't go far from your phone, she will call you any moment from now." She added. "You may not believe me but it wasn't my fault to be candid. I went to the bank to withdraw money but what cut up in a robbery operation, that was why I was delayed." Peter explained.

"Don't tell me that you were in that bank that was robbed today?" Peter was surprised that the news have already spread out so fast, they must have heard about it at home, but they might not be able to relate it with him not coming back earlier, he thought. "I'm really sorry to have accused you wrongly." She apologized for her ignorance. "Oh yeah! Some men came looking for you this afternoon." She added. Peter knew they were sent by Mr Ralph because of Juliet persuasion. She would be worried, since he didn't tell them he would be late. After the call Peter took a public bus heading home.

It was dark already but the compound was still as bright as ever because of the electricity supply. Juliet stood not far from the gate of the compound, in expectance. Mr Ralph also stood not far from her, he had tried to convince her times without number to go inside, that Peter would surely come soon but she never heed to his words. After some minutes have passed, someone walked in casually. The armed men at the gate were looking at him, they wanted to say something but they find it difficult to force some words out of their mouths. It was as if they never have anything in their brains, their brains switched off the moment they set their eyes on him. The person could only be Peter, although he looked like nothing had happened to him, there was still a tissue inside his nose, he really have no energy left. He had stressed himself out and had also affected his injury slightly but one could not find weariness in his eyes. The moment he walked in he saw Juliet and Mr Ralph not far from her. He really felt warm in his heart, that kind of feelings when you realized how much someone care for you.

Juliet also saw him coming her way, she didn't rush to him. The worry she was having had changed to that of anger, she could explode any time. When Peter went closer to her she wanted to punch him but stopped the moment she saw the tissue in her nose. Peter was really happy that he didn't remove the tissue on his way home. If not he would have fell the moment she hits him. "What happened to your nose? What happened to you? Why are you just coming back?" Peter really didn't know where to start from because the question was just too much for him.

"My lady, I'm really sorry to have made you worried for nothing." He apologized with a smile. "It wasn't my intention to come back late, I was hold up in a robbery operation, so we could only leave when the operation was over." He explained why he was late. Mr Ralph cut in because he was aware of the news that a bank was robbed. "You were also in that bank?" He asked.

"I was there to withdraw money so I can purchase a phone, not knowing that the bank would be robbed."

"So the robbers did these to your nose? And were you able to get the phone?" Juliet asked. Peter replied with a nod. With the news Mr Ralph heard, the reporter said while the robbery was on, a young man was beaten by one of the robbers and his money was collected, when the robbers left the young man went after them. They later saw the young man lying down saying that he had collapsed due to the attack from the robbers when he pursued them. And not long after he was discovered they reported that the robbers have been arrested and one of them was dead before the police got there while others were asleep. Although no one would be able to relate the young man with what later happened to the robbers but he was certain able it. The reporter did not made mention that the one that was dead before the police got there was also the one that beat the young man. What they couldn't affirm was that Peter was the young man. They can't ascertain if Peter was responsible for what later happened to the robbers was but Mr. Ralph sense that could be the case because Peter was injured and they only reported that one person was beaten. Because of Peter's peculiarities he believed that Peter could achieved the end result and also after they have collected his money, he was able to purchase the phone he wanted to buy which could only happened if he had collected his money back.

Thinking to this point, the respect he had for him grew, holding him in high esteem. He was really glad that Peter came to his hood. He decided that the next time he sees Jungle he will thank him once again. Juliet was still questioning Peter without rest, Mr Ralph then told her to allow him to go and rest after all what he had passed through today, that he really need a good rest. She was also aware that he would be tired but she was unwilling to part with him. Seeing the unwillingness in her eyes, Mr Ralph suggested that she can also follow him, that she might be able to help him with some things. Knowing that she would be going to Peter room, she could not help but blush.
