The water was still until a big mass moved quickly and silently under the water. The creature lept out of the water proudly. Her hooves hit the bottom of the lake. She smiled under water as she watched a crab scurry away from her. Her neon blue mane floated around her face. She shook her head and continued swimming. She saw something by the shore from under water and slightly lifted her head out. A strange creature on two legs was dipping this big wooden barrel into the water. Her shinny white eyes shifted towards the horse that was near the shore. She sunk down into the water and quietly swam over to the horse on the shore. The horse just looked over the lake and then he looked at his rider. He shook his black mane and stamped his hooves impatiently as he glanced back at the woods. He snorted "Come on Betty..." He said looking at the girl filling the buckets of water. She couldn't hear him talking, all she heard were snorts and neighs. He lip fluttered and brought his head close to the water, his eyes widened as he saw something staring at him in his reflection, but it wasn't his reflection. Betty, his rider saddled the buckets on the horse's saddle. Betty reached to grab the horse's lead right as the creature sprang out of the water. The horse on the shore rested and Betty quickly jumped on his back. "KELPIE!" She screamed pulling on the horse's reins and he galloped away, up a path and over a hill. The kelpie snorted in fury and spit out a grey hair patch from the horse. She swam away angrily. "Navisca!" someone yelled. Another kelpie approached her in the water. "Navisca, there you are." The other kelpie sighed. "Yeah mother.. I'm here." Navisca said rolling her eyes slightly. "Did you catch anything today." Navisca's mother said as they swam into a cave under water. "No, they got away..." Navisca said rolling her eyes. Her mother chuckled. "Well it takes patients and practice, I remember when I caught my first doe mule deer."Navisca's mother, Karii said leaping out of the water in the cave. She shook off the water and looked back at Navisca. Three other kelpies approached Navisca and Karii. "Lady Karii." The stallion kelpie said bowing his head slightly. "Hello Reed," Karii said with a slight smile. "Willow, Lilly." Karii said with a big smile at the two fillies. "Navisca, this is my secretary, Reed." Reed smiled and bowed his head to Navisca as she crawled out of the water. "and these two cuties are my maids, well, they bring me a lot of stuff." Karii said smiling with her doe eyes. There was a few minutes of awkward silence and staring at each other before Navisca's mother cleared her throat. "So, shall we go in our way." Karii said leading the way down the cave. Navisca followed behind her mother's maids. Reed turned around and winked at Navisca. She sneered and gritted her teeth shifting her eyes else where from the perverted stud.
Soon they reached the main cavern with other kelpies. There where maybe thirty other kelpies in that cavern. They all moved out of the way as Karii and her group moved towards the big rock in the middle of the cavern. "Hello my dearests!" Karii said proudly to the herd of kelpies. Navisca stayed on the back end of the rock and let her mother do all of the talking. Reed glanced back at Navisca with piercing yellow eyes. Navisca gulped and tried to make it seem that she wasn't looking into those stunning gold gems of Reed's. Reed tisked and faced the crowd again. "So you know how those..... Humans," "Blah!" a kelpie in the crowd yelled. "Kill the savages! Rip their throats out!" a female kelpie yelled. "Everybody calm down please and let me finish." Karii said calmly, but none of the kelpies seemed to listen to her. Navisca shoved her way in between Willow and Reed. "EVERYONE SHUT IT!" Navisca yelled rearing on her hind legs. Every kelpie went silent. Only a few murmurs where heard in the crowd. "Well done darling, you have Vaybrance's voice." Karii said before smiling at the crowd. "As I was saying-" "We want her to speak! Let the shire kelpie speak!" someone yelled. "Yeah! Let your daughter speak!" another voice yelled. Karii noted her head and backed up to give Navisca some space. "Uh, hello..... As my mother was saying, those creatures on two legs have stolen all of our wild food supplies, like rabbits, foxes, and deer. Only some come up to get a drink once in a while, but they were all scared away." Navisca said nervously. "But I, we, will stop these creatures and bring back our used to be world!" Navisca said smiling and the other kelpies applauded and chanted. "Ok, ok!" Karii scolded. "Quiet now, it's time to go back to your normal daily lives and let us do the taking care of." Karii said before turning away. The crowd dispersed and they continued their daily lives. Willow leaned against Reed. "May I help you?" Reed said with a snort. "Oh, it's just, that I can't help looking at those beautiful gold eyes of yours." Willow said biting her lip. Her seaweed green hair tangled around her feet as she moved around Reed. "Hey, come here." Karii said glancing back at Reed. Reed came towards Karii right as Willow fell face first into the ground. Navisca tried not to laugh, but one squeaked out. "Navisca, go outside please." Karii said with a glare. "What? Is it because I laughed!?" Navisca asked quietly. "What no, wait you laughed at Willow??" Karii said gritting her teeth slightly. "Why do I have to go outside then!?" Navisca stamped her right hoof. "Because you made me have to bring up your father's name! Now out please!" Karii drug her hoof on the cave floor. Navisca ran down the tunnel that led out of the cave. Navisca into the water at the top of the cave tunnel and swam into the lake. "What's so bad about my father's name!?" Navisca asked herself. Her blue mane and tail flowing in the water. Her black pelt made her mane stand out, like it was glowing. Her bright white hooves seemed very shiny as she walked across the bottom of the lake. Navisca heard something splash and she poked her head slightly out of the water.
Humans... She started to panic and she looked up again to count how many. Six humans, six horses, and two dogs. There where guys looking into the water, some had long sticks with wire on them, and some had weird silver and brown sticks. Navisca watched as a man fed the silver thing with gold nuggets. Navisca slowly swam farther down the shore and quietly got out of the water. She crept behind some bushes and watched the humans intently. There, there was the one she had scared earlier, Betty. She was on her grey stallion, keeping away from the water as a human handling a dog was asking her questions. "even tho I was scared, my dear steed Halter was probably even more scared then I was." Betty said stroking Halter's Black mane. The man looked at the steed's neck and saw a patch of hair was missing. "Ma'am I'm not quiet sure I follow. You said a horse did this?" The man said crossing his arms while his Fox terrier sat at his feet. "I ain't blind ya know! I seen it with my own two eyes Travis! It was a pitch black with a mane blue as the sky itself! It had white eyes that struck fear into me as it took a bite outta poor Halts neck!" Betty exclaimed impatiently. A brown pointer came down the shore toward Navisca. Navisca froze, her eyes widened and she tried not to gulp, fearing the pointer would hear. The pointer stopped in it's tracks and sniffed, he suddenly stopped sniffing and growled. He started growling louder and then he started barking which alerted the humans on the shore. The other horses began to get nervous and stamp around. The man with the silver stick had to go grab the horses leads so they didn't run off. Navisca stared terrified and hoping they wouldn't find her. The fox terrier made his way over to the brown pointer. The terrier started to growl. The man grabbed a wooden stick and fed it nuggets as he slowly came closer to the dogs in front of the bushes. He brought the stick up to his face and used the scope and looked at the bushes to get a better view. He caught the shiny flicker of her white eyes. The man bent the stick and it made a clicking noise. Navisca became even more frightened, she knew she had to move or else she would get killed. The man was behind the dogs and was pointing the stick around. Navisca watched carefully as the man slid a finger onto a lever on the bottom of the stick. That was it, Navisca suddenly shot up and dive into the water so fast that no one had time to react and the guy with the stick missed his shot. "Damn!" The man said looking at the water.
