Chapter 23

After giving my explanation, I just asked " Am I correct, Mr. Davis? " then keep standing and waiting for my professor to response. I look calm and confident but deep inside I was wishing I explain my thoughts well and hoping to get his confirmation that my answer is correct. Earning additional points would be great, by earning more points although it is just a small amount of points but the fact that I earned more than 10 points on our formal first day, it is a big achievement for me and give me a lot of pleasure.

It might look like that earning reward points is easy, but it is a big no no, because not all professor gives hefty amount of points in one go. Every professor has their own standards and rules in giving away points so it is difficult for the students to earn enough amount of points that they can redeem every month. As students, we need to give a lot of efforts and spend more time in reviewing, participating and getting high grades to earn more points.

After a minute or so Mr. Davis responded " that is correct, I will reward you 5 points for the correct answer and another 10 points for the explanation, It might not be very profound and polish but the idea is there and it is easy to understood too. Congratulations and Job well done, Miss" He paused as if waiting for me to say my name

"Lee, just call me Lee Mr. Davis and thank you for the compliment. I just tried my luck by guessing" I humbly replied before I sit down, and we continue the class

"Okay students, I don't need to repeat explaining why does the correct answer is five, I am hoping you understand what Miss Lee explained" he paused and then continued speaking " I know, some of you might be baffled and asking why did I asked something that might not be connected to computer. True, this brain tester is not connected to computer but it mostly a battle between mathematics and English. However, the mental ability or logical thinking slush reasoning that is used to answer the question is somewhat connected to computer especially with programming. "

"Computer programming is somewhat tricky, and you need to have a strong mind or strong mental ability collaborated with logic for you to survive computer programming. You will be dealing with codes most of the time and you need to use your mental strength. You have to think fast and clear, strong mental strength helps you to avoid giving up or surrender without trying"

"But before we go to programming, let's start with the basic and familiarize ourselves with the different features that we will be encountering more often with computer programming"

After a few more minutes of discussion, the bell rang, it indicates that normal school hours is done and it is time to go home. But of course not everyone were scheduled in normal school hours, some students who are enrolled in higher number of units need to stay a little bit longer than usual.

Some students need to attend class until late at night, normally the latest hours were 9 o'clock to 10 o'clock because the school curfew hour is from 11 o'clock in the evening until four thirty in the morning.

But since I am only enrolled in three subjects right now and I only need to earn 5 units in each subject every week, there will be days that I won't have classes. Since I spend 2 hours in marketing today, one hour and a half on organizational behavior and an hour for computer applications.

I still need 3 hours for marketing, three hours and a half for organizational behavior and four hours for computer applications. Since my class schedule tomorrow would be eight thirty in the morning until eleven - thirty for marketing, which is three hours then I will be gaining my 5 hours for marketing tomorrow and it also means that there will be no marketing classes on wednesday until friday.

My second class would be from noon to one - thirty in the afternoon for organizational behavior, meaning I just need to spend another two hours on wednesday for the subject to earn my five hours. My last schedule for tomorrow would be two o'clock in the afternoon until four in the afternoon, earning another two hours for computer applications.

My wednesday schedule would be nine o'clock in the morning until eleven o'clock for computer applications and two o'clock in the afternoon until four o'clock for my organizational behavior. It also means that I have more free hours to spend for some school office matters in the morning then two hours lunch break which means I can eat on the mall resto where I can order some of filipino dishes that I want to enjoy eating again. Then on thursday and friday I will spend my whole day doing school office matters before heading to the company to deal business matters.

Every week, my schedule would be random depending on the hours needed for every subject discussions. There will be days where computer applications need to spend five whole hours for the hands - on exercises that we need to do. Our subject schedules are also based on the professors' availability because they are not only teaching our class but other classes as well, which either taking a back subjects or advance classes, or just normal classes like ours.

I know our class schedules are kind of complicated but that's how college life works or we can properly say, that is how university student's life works. Compared to the lower level of schooling where their schedules were fixed and the same everyday, university level is more complicated and advance.

I am sure some of you would understand what I am saying because I am sure that some of you had experience university life or are currently experiencing university slush college life. It is complicated, hectic and feels a hell - like experience but at the end of the school year where you accomplished all the school tasks and activities, you passed your subjects either with average grades or with flying colors, you will feel how fulfilling and amazing to survive a year or better yet the whole course.

The minimum year course for undergraduate and bachelor courses is two years and the maximum is five years. Masteral Degree is another two years and Doctorate Degree is another year or so depending on what major you are taking. Since I am taking my masteral degree, it normally take two years but I can possibly finish it for a year if I want to. Of course it all depends on my availability and mood * smirk *
