The Junior And The Important Day

Arden heard the sound of air scatter and ran away from the fist of the young boy. He quickly unsheathed his sword and turned around with his hand following his body movement.

Soon, the boy that threw out the punch was in the position of death. Arden could've killed him with the edge of his sword near the throat of the boy, or he could simply spare him and let him go.

He chose the latter option and quickly sheathed his sword back to the scabbard, and that boy sighed. The boy then gave him a thumbs up and went back on making the tent.

Arden was confused at this point and thought to himself, 'Did this boy just test me or something? He actually risked his own life just to test me"

He giggled while the duke himself is sweating nervously and was about to scold the boy from doing that. But the duke thought to himself before doing that, 'I think Arden took care of the situation well enough so I don't need to scold the boy or something'

After he thought about that, the duke introduce Arden to the 3 boys, "This is Baron of Aselwey, one of my former squires at the past, he became my squire the same time as Count of Hamsville became my squire, I don't need to go into detail"

The 3 boys looked at Arden with a glowing eye upon hearing what came out of their liege mouth. Almost at the same time, the three of them said, "Sir! I'm your big fan, I've heard about what you did on the battlefield!"

Even the boy that tried to throw a punch at Arden behave like the others and began admiring him. Arden just smiled after seeing his body swarmed by the 3 of them and responded with, "Haha, I'm not that good, can you introduce yourselves now?"

The 3 boys then lined up as soon after their ears heard this question and began introducing their selves. "We are the three kids of the Count of Ayers, Orestes Byron"

Arden thought the name was familiar, 'Who was that? I think I heard that person somewhere and knew that person personally!'

That's when it hits his mind and he suddenly remembered, "That guy is one of the nobles I commanded at the wars against the rebels from the northern province!"

He said that loudly and all the three boys were shocked hearing his words. "You commanded our father in the past?? How can that be? You are just a Baron though"

Arden thought about it and said to himself, 'What they said… actually made sense, how could I command such high-ranking people with my rank of Baronet at that time?"

He then expresses his opinion to them, "honestly, I myself don't know how I got that kind of privilege from the previous king, but what's in the past is in the past and there's no point to talking about it now"

They looked at him with their glowing eyes once again and said, "Sir, you are so wise, you must be a very wise man and a good strategist that you can command the one higher than you!"

He laughed it off, "I was just saying what I was supposed to say, I'll help you all with the ten, let's make it fast for your liege and mine in the past!"

While they were saying setting up the tent, one of the boys said, "Sir, we haven't introduced our name, let us do it when we are seeing up this tent"

Arden was too focused on the tent and just responded with, "mhm"

Apparently, the 3 boys took this as a yes and began saying their names, "My name is Honorius, sorry if I was disrespectful just now"

Said the boy that tried to throw a punch at him but failed. Then one of the other boys started introducing themselves, "I am Orpheus and is the youngest amongst the three of us"

Arden responded to their words with "mhm" and still focused on setting up of the tent. "I'm Tursnastus and all three of us are actually triplets!"

Fortunately enough, Arden wasn't too much focused on setting up the tents. He could hear what they said but just remembered the names and no other things of it.

After the four of them are done building the tent, Arden turned his attention to the 3 boys and thought about their names, 'Their names are a little bit weird, like a royal family from the past or something'

He then asked about it to the 3 boys, "All of your names sounded a little bit weird to me, is there anything about your family background?"

The three of them looked at each other before answering the question as best as they could. "Actually, we don't know, but our father once told us that we are the descendant of a noble family from the past"

Arden nodded, giving them a hint that he won't press further for information. Then he noticed, 'where is Sir Aswick? Did he go somewhere?'

He began looking around for him and that's when the duke came out of nowhere and greeted them, "Hey! All of you are done making the tent? I just visited another noble's tent. Sorry about that!"

Arden looked at him with a "bruh," face before saying, "Okay, I'm sorry I need to leave now and prepare for tomorrow, see you all"

He then left the location and began making his way toward the local pub he temporarily resides at. He slept and rested comfortably for the night.

The next day, he woke up and began making his preparation for what's he is going to wear that day. After he was done doing that, he gathered his follower that consists of a squire, page and his friend.

Afterwards, he left the local pub and began making his way toward the keep with his best clothes and others following him closely behind.

Visibly to him could be seen many various nobles walking on the streets with their squire and servant. Making their way to the same destination as his.

He then arrived at the keep and he could see that it was very crowded and with people and nobles. The city habitants gathered around the keep with their normal clothes that differentiate all of them with the nobles.

One of them approached Arden and asked him about it, "Sir, I see you are using nice clothing, may I ask what is with all of the nobles"

Arden smiled and said to himself, 'How foolish he is to not know this important day… Wait, judging by their expression, all of them didn't know. Perhaps they weren't told about it? It seems I need to keep quiet and lie my way out of this"

After thinking for a good response, he just answered with, "you will see it yourself when the time has come, just stick around and you won't miss what is happening in this day!"

The person gave out a loud and long "oooh" before turning back his attention to the keep.

Then, Sir Aswick came out from the keep door and loudly stated, "For all the nobles that have gathered here, you can enter the keep now and sit at the designed seat"

The nobles at the front row close to the keep door rushed inside and pushed everybody on their way. The one at the back takes their time and move carefully and cautiously.

When Arden was walking toward the keep door, he saw a person at the floor. He was shouting at Arden himself, "Please don't please don't! It hurt so much being stepped on!"

Arden examined the person and saw blood coming out from his nose, and his face was covered with footsteps and dirt like his body.

His common sense basically shouting at him at that moment and said, "Hey, you are a knight and a human just like them, you must help them, you know?

Upon hearing this, he stretched out his arm and began helping that man from the ground. Arden helped the man and walked him outside of the crowd of people mixed with nobles.

Apparently, he was not the only one that did this. Almost all the nobles that he knew of personally or have a good impression on him/her was helping the injured.

The crowds of people began helping too, and the process became faster than before. After a half an hour doing this, Arden smiled and thought, "I think the injured are taken care of and the doctors have arrived"

Then, he gathered his group of nobles and friend and marched to the door of the keep. The crowds make way for them and treated them like a group of lions in the jungle.

The group Arden was in finally reached the keep's door just a few seconds after they helped the one that was stepped by others.

He could see the view of the keep, there are many seats in there like a church. But… the right seats are filled while the left barely has any people sitting on it.

Then, he realizes what is in the floor, a little red stain of blood heading to the rows of the seats on the right.
