Chapter 13 : Say it Now
Knight is now 29 years old. He little bit grow old but he is still an attractive man by his proper posture and formal looks. Finally, in his solitude at his favorite place he realized that life wants him to start again. He was looking deeply to the surroundings while wind is blowing to his healthy hair. Lyrids came and speak from far away with loud voice.
"Knight!" She loudly said with an energetic voice and her right hand is waving.
Lyrids moves besides him and they both look at the lake while sitting in the grass and feel the silence of the surrounding with a feeling of happiness.
"This place will be closed soon by the government." Knight silently said as he looks closely to the surrounding.
"In my time, the places you can visit in planet Earth are limited. Not all places are allowed to enter." She replied silently.
"That's why I am very happy to here in Knight's time." She happily said.
"Knight, are you now starting a new life?" Lyrids silently said with a smile in her face while looking to the lake.
"Yes, I am…" He calmly said to her while looking deeply to the lake.
"What are your life plans now?" She silently asked.
"I am going to work as a Time researcher." He replied.
"That's good." She happily said.
"I will be no longer in your time … There is only 15 percent left in my time machine… She silently said.
"So your time machine is the little Teddy bear?" he asked.
"Yes, how did you know?" She replied.
"I know it… I'm a time machine inventor…" He seriously said as he starts to look at her face.
Knight looks into Lyrids as she happily smiled to him with a feeling of gratitude to everything without saying any words to him. As he tries to sweetly hold her near hand, Lyrids moves it quickly while saying "No" with a sweet smile followed by the word, "It is scary". Knight just laughed a little and opened his small black bag with a big smile.
From his bag, he gets a journal book and gives it to her. He said that it was his secret journal that he writes since the first time he saw her at the age of 13. He even said that she should read it. Lyrids gladly takes it and as she opened the first page she read the words,"Time traveler Girl with white clothes" that makes her sweetly smiled while looking to it. Knight gently kissed her forehead that makes her stopped looking into the journal and do nothing but just looked at his happy and shy face.
"It scares you?" Knight said with a smile while looking back into the lake.
"It scares me." She silently said with a no reaction of face while holding his journal.
"I think I should read this when you're not besides me..." She shyly said.
"Let's eat takoyaki at the Matakaw Restaurant."He said as he changed topic with a smile.
Lyrids agree because she really loves takoyaki. After that, they separate places. Lyrids walks left in the road while Knight is at right. Lyrids is totally blushing and she thinks that she's now in love. Knight too feels the same as he walks away. Teddy approached her and asked why she is very happy.
"Do you now love Knight?" Teddy asked happily.
"Teddy, maybe this is love." She shyly said with cute gestures while hugging Knight's journal.
"You love him because your movements and face are too obvious…" He happily said again.
Lyrids doesn't respond to him and just continue walking to the side of the street.
"Is it love? I think it is…Stars are falling into my head. I start seeing rainbows everywhere, and I can smell the sweet scent of the roses in my skin. My heart feels like blushing as red and as dark as the black forest cake with a little cotton candy clouds being added and ice cream delight. It really feels so good and I want to fly like a butterfly." Lyrids said inside her lovely mind while thinking of some cute imaginations.
As she walks much farther, she and Teddy was shocked and dropped the journal in the floor upon seeing John in the road with a sweet smile. John during that time is wearing the time guard's black fitted suite with little technological microchips that can be seen in some parts of it.
"Why are you here?" She asked with a change of mood in her face.
"I am worrying to you." He sweetly said as he walks nearer to her.
Teddy is worrying and doesn't know what to do until he saw Knight going to them with a big smile. He return to say something important to Lyrids but then as he saw her in the road with John, John immediately hugs her tightly to show it to him. Lyrids doesn't even know that Knight is near at her back. Knight looks madly to John and John too shows a tiger eye. Knight, angrily gets his journal in the ground and quickly move away from them.
Lyrids puts away John's arm to her and became a little bit angry while Teddy was shocked about what he saw and just not talk because he was scared to John.
"Don't ever hug me. I don't like it." She silently said.
"I'm very sorry; I just missed you so much." He replied sweetly while moving it away.
"You know it scares me." She said with eyes on the floor.
"Let's go home in your time. I will accompany you…" He silently said with a convincing voice while Teddy is moving all around with panicking movements.
"Not yet, my time machine is still working…" She said with a smile.
"Ah, okay… I think I'll convince you next time… I need to go…I love you…" He said silently with a sad face.
As he leaves them, Lyrids try to look to the Knight's journal but didn't see it. Teddy forgot to tell her about what happened because his mind was focused on how to get rid of John. Teddy thinks that he is destroying the happenings in Knight's time.
"Lyrids, please don't go with him …please …please…" Teddy said with a worrying voice.
"I won't. Let's go to Knight's another time. I need to tell him that I lost his journal." She silently said.
The two traveled for tomorrow morning, there Lyrids wait for an hour to Knight in the near lake but he never came. So she decides to look for him at his working area. Finally, she saw him reading some books at the outside of the school's building.
"Knight, I'm glad I saw you." She happily said while he just ignores her while showing a mad eye.
"I need to tell you something …" She again talked.
"You don't need to tell anything …" He silently replied with angry voice.
"I need to apologize for losing your journal." She sadly said.
"I looked everywhere to the place I dropped it but cannot see it." She explained silently.
"Careless … You're the most careless time traveler who loves playing in my time…" He seriously said while looking in his book and turning the pages.
"Yes, I am …" Lyrids sadly said with her face looking down as she walks silently away.
Lyrids with a feeling of rejection just sits in the park's bench while thinking deeply. Teddy went to her and starts to talk with a calm voice.
"What happened? Why you looked so sad?" He said with a comforting voice.
"Knight hates me so much."Lyrids replied.
"I know the reason."He silently said.
"He saw you being hugged by John and John even looked at him madly." He said.
"I don't know what we should do… John's just came into this time and I don't even know his existence." He even added.
"I think John is right. I should go home to my time." She sadly said while Teddy felt sad to what happened.
As they walked together, John again appeared to the road with a big smile to them. Lyrids said to teddy to leave them alone and don't worry because they are friends for a long time.
"Lyrids, life is breathing. Please, don't break Knight's heart…" Teddy whispered to her as she walks away with John. He thinks that maybe it is the right time for him to work for his Master Knight.
SCENE:Lyrids and John walked together.
John: Lyrids, I want you to show something… (He smiled at her.)
Lyrids: What is it?
John: I will bring you to one of the Earth's beautiful places. (He smiled again.)
The two rides John's flying thin shaped skate-motor and they landed to a place with lots of transparent waterfalls which is forming a circle. Lyrids was very happy and she innocently points to the fishes and to some green plants where she breathes deeply. John happily looked at her and to the beauty of Earth's nature.
"Lyrids, let's go home in your time." He silently said.
"Continue your dream and let's travel together in the planet Earth using time machine." He continued talking with a sweet voice while looking to the waterfalls.
Upon hearing him, Lyrids suddenly stops touching the clean falling waters and looked at him while smiling. This cuts this scene and turn to the scene where Teddy finally talked to Knight for the first time.
SCENE: Knight is still reading books until teddy catches his attention and jumps into his steel with a little glass designed of table.
Teddy: Master Knight, it's never too late … (He smiled while hands are moving.)
Knight: So you are Lyrids' time machine. (He grabs him and hold tightly with a mad eye.)
Teddy: Please don't be like that. I am one of your fantastic inventions in the future. (He said as Knight stops being a little bit annoyed.)
Teddy: Please, don't let John get Lyrids away from you… She loves you too … (He slowly and silently said that soften Knight's heart and it totally changed his mind.)
Teddy and Knight try to find her all around because they know that anytime John will return her to her time and will change everything. However, the only one that they detected in the road was John with an angry face that looks like he wants to kill Knight. John quickly hits him with a great force while saying some words.
"All this time you take Lyrids away from me!" John said madly with a strong punch to his head.
Knight returns a punched to him but doesn't hurt him. However, John doesn't return any punch to Knight as he saw that Lyrids came and shouts "Stop", it gives Knight a proper timing to hit him again that knocks him down into the floor. Knight saw Lyrids so he stops and fix himself and smiled at her like nothing happened. He kneels in front of her like a knight in shining armor with his one hand rising and waiting to put her hand to it.
Lyrids during that moment was a little bit confused and shocked. Teddy was amazed to Knight's strength. There is a little bit blood in his mouth while John doesn't have any as he lay on the ground and crying in losing Lyrids.
"Lyrids, I'm just a boy inside a man … Not exactly who you think I am…You came and made me who I am… I feel million miles away but still you connect me in your way and you created me something that I would never see… Please ,forgive me, it is so strange but you became a part of me …" He bravely said while kneeling in a charming position with his right hand waiting for her hand to hold it as he tries to smile and honestly looked at her crying eyes.
Lyrids puts her right hand to him and accepts his apologized and it really makes him happy while John is crying like someone died. Teddy sprays the medicine to Knight's body that returns its normal and also to John while he is still lying down and crying.
Lyrids moves through him and silently comforts him with some friendly and honest words that she avoids to say because she knows that it will hurt him so much.
"You really can't feel anything to me?" He said while crying and putting his right hand to his face as he controls his sadness…
"John, you are very important to me … You are handsome, the most brave, and kindest guy that I had ever met. Many girls like you. And yes, you love me so much but … But I don't deserve it … I don't feel the same … but still I will forever love you as a friend, and love you like my brother… Hope you understand …" She silently said while looking with him in a caring voice.
"For many years, finally you said that to me…" He cried.
"Please stop crying for me … I don't want you to see like that. It hurts me too…" She silently said.
"I'll be fine … I need this to realized that you cannot forever stay besides me." He said with a crying voice.
The scene was field of sadness. It was 1:00 pm in the afternoon with a cloudy day and no heat of the sun comes from the sky. Knight and Teddy are talking from far away while waiting for Lyrids to privately talk to John. After many hours, John decides to leave without words with his broken heart.
For much more hidden side of the chapter's story, Lyrids doesn't change her mind when John asked her to go home in her time when they are in the water falls. So they returned back to where they can detect teddy's tracker but John accidentally saw Knight and cannot control his temper and hits him with all his force. Lyrids lately came but stops them from hitting each other. Knight finally says the words that he wants to say to Lyrids in that right moment. Lyrids too finally said the hurtful words to stop John from hoping for her love. This is truly a heartbreaking scene in this chapter. One faithful heart was broken but a new door for love was opened.
