The sun rose up at 6am that day. Students, especially who were taking care of their reputation, never want to be late at school. Timotheo was like that. But not that day.
It was already passed 6am yet he was still on his bed. He's awake but he did not want to open his eyes yet. He was still so discouraged with what happened in Dave's mansion and in Shyla's house.
A sound of alarm opened his eyes. When he checked the time on the hologram clock, it was already 6:30am. He was supposed to be walking by that time. But that day things went so different.
Another noise disturbed his quiet yet dreadful time that morning. At first, he thought it was the radio. But when he sat up on his bed, it was his television. It automatically turned on whenever there was a news, e-mails etc that were important.
His inbox was full of voice mail from his friend Josef, a childhood friend who lived near their school. Since Timotheo was still dwelling on his incomptence, he did not bothered checking them. He was about to stand up when suddenly, a news-video on his holographic television popped-up.
"BREAKING NEWS:
'News Reporter:
The Ultimate Alliance is on their way to do the mass-production of the AIs and Clones, and has already started their project New World, a project that aims to make the world free of waste materials.'"
"Another lies, eh? free of waste materials? Why do they have to sugar-coat it or hide it in an absurd way?" Timotheo said to himself.
Timotheo stood up from his bed lousily. He still felt so tired and his body felt heavy not just because of the injuries from the fights but because of mental exhaustion as well.
He went to his small kitchen and ate some bread that he left in his oven. He pressed a button on the dining table and a hologram of a desktop appeared. He tried to look for something that would help him change his mood but could not find anything.
Bored, he went straight to the bathroom and took a bath to get ready to go to school.
After getting ready, he went out of his house as if nothing happened yesterday. He walked and thought of the lessons he had left behind. As he took out his notes, his phone rang. It was Josef.
"Hey, man." Josef said.
"Hey." Timotheo said, sounding so tired.
" you coming to school today?"
" Yeah. I'm on my way."
"Great! We have a lot of things to talk about. See you later man."
"Okay. Bye."
Keeping up a conversation was not Timotheo's thing. Whenever a friend or someone talked to him, the conversation would not be long and meaningful. He was kind of introvert. But when he was with Marie, his friend since high school, he felt comfortable and he talked about many things.
--
It's already passed 8am when he arrived at his school. He was probably late but that did not matter to him.
While going upstairs, someone blocked his way. He almost got annoyed but when he checked, it was someone he would not want to see early in the morning.
"And when did you learn to cut-class, mister?" said a woman with a height of an average college student, and a voice of a police officer.
Timotheo tried to step back but his bag was already caught by the hands of this annoying woman.
"Where do you think you're goin'? You have a lot of explanation to do. To me and to Josef. You, annoying young-adult introvert!" said the woman, dragging Timotheo to the hallway of their university.
"Hey, Marie. You know, you don't have to drag me like this. He he he." said Timotheo, trying to make smile.
"You sayin' somethin'?" said Marie, glaring at Timotheo.
Timotheo was dragged to an old room full of dust and webs. He could not find a way out because Marie was guarding the door. He sat on an old chair near the window.
"Before you start your explanation, let us wait for others." said Marie.
Others? said Timotheo to himself. He took out his notes so that he would not get bored.
"Looks like they are here."
When Marie opened the door, Timotheo was surprised. Dave, Fate and Shyla were standing by the door looking at him.
"Wait? Why are you guys here? Do you want innocent people to die?" said Timotheo, a bit angry.
"Hey, Tim. I am also studying here. Remember?" said Dave.
"We are just worried about you Timotheo." said Shyla.
"Now, look who's acting so strong. I heard the whole story and I learned that all you did yesterday was feel sorry to yourself because you feel so weak and useless." interrupted Fate.
"Aren't you so harsh, Fate? He he he. Calm down please." said Shyla.
Timotheo fixed his things and stood up, trying to hide his embarassment. He wanted to go out of that room. He again felt so miserable because of what he heard. He tried to run away but Fate stopped him.
"Is that all you are going to do? Run?"
Silence enveloped the room. Everyone was trying his/her best to think of a way to calm down Timotheo. Especially Marie.
"Aren't you curious about what is happening? I already told you that you have to stay beside me." Fate said.
"Beside me?-- what does that mean?" Marie said to herself.
"We came here not just to look after you. We are here to explain things about them, too. Would you care listen?" Fate said.
Timotheo went back to the chair he sat in the old room. When everyone was about to settle down, another person came.
"Looks like I just made it in time." said the man, gasping.
"Josef? What are you doing here?" asked Timotheo.
