Violent Behaviour

In the case where Yang Yi had poked someone's eye, he should take the initiative to say something even though he was unharmed. Yang Yi might have been provoked but sympathy was always given to the weaker side. Although he was being forced to retaliate, things may still end up badly for him.

The guard wrenched the Black man's hands towards his back revealing a bloody hole where his eye used to be. One of the guards exclaimed, "Oh my god! That's revolting!"

Yang Yi's hands were also wrenched backward and handcuffed. Although he didn't resist, he kept yelling, "Help me! My stomach was stabbed! Help me!"

"Shut up!"

The guard holding Yang Yi grunted and hit Yang Yi's thigh with his truncheon. The guard then raised his voice and asked, "Quiet! Who saw what happened here? What did you see?"

Yang Yi finally realized why Chris would get up and turn, making sure to look elsewhere just now.

Chris stood straight and proclaimed loudly, "I didn't see anything!"

Chris's action were not an isolated case. All the other inmates had turned to look elsewhere when the Black man had taken action.

Yang Yi couldn't help but exclaim, "He attacked me!"

"Shut up!"

Yang Yi's thigh was hit again by the truncheon. Although it made him angry, he wouldn't say a word in dissatisfaction or attempt to resist. The guards were ultimately the supreme force here.

"Little fella, you're out of luck. This place is under surveillance."

After whispering this to Yang Yi, the guard declared, "Send them to the medical ward. How unfortunate, just another mess!"

Yang Yi was being dragged and escorted towards the medical ward.

The Black man was still screaming as both of them were being sent to the medical ward. The doctor examined the Black man and calmly proclaimed, "Damn, his left eye is blind. Let me examine the other fella."

The doctor lifted Yang Yi's clothes and took a look at his stomach. The doctor gave off a shrug and said indifferently, "It's just scratch on the skin. He will be fine. You can send him back."

Yang Yi was very clear that his injury wasn't serious but it was still an injury on his stomach after all. Even if the injury was not fatal, some anti-inflammatory drug should still be applied to the wound.

"Doctor! I'm in a lot of pain. Please give me treatment!"

The doctor indifferently said, "We'll worry about that when there's inflammation. Take him away."

The guard immediately dragged Yang Yi away.

Yang Yi didn't panic. He was already thinking about the punishment he would receive for causing someone to lose sight in their eye in a fight. Regardless of the reason, he wouldn't be able to avoid punishment.

Contrary to his expectations, he was sent directly back to his cell instead.

Seeing that he was back at his cell, he couldn't help but to ask the guard, "Sir, the matter is settled?"

"The surveillance showed that the Black man initiated the attack. You will be fine since you were just defending yourself."

After shoving Yang Yi into his cell, the guard who sent Yang Yi backed yelled, "Close the door for cell 356."

Yang Yi still couldn't believe what he had heard even after the door had closed. He had expected to be caned fifty strokes in such a situation.

Under Yang Yi's expectation, although someone had wanted to kill him, if the attempt was unsuccessful and Yang Yi had caused him serious injury instead, Yang Yi would be the one forced to compensate the other party for using excessive force.

It seemed like the prison system worked differently. He would be fine as long as he was just defending himself.

Was such a system real?

Yang Yi contemplated what had happened. He later reminded himself three times he was in the United States. He should be fine even though the other party's eye had become blind due to his action.

It was simply too great! Yang Yi sat on his bed and saw Chris who was sitting opposite staring at him. Yang Yi gave him a smile and laid down on his own bed.

"You should be careful. The Boxing King will definitely want revenge. Although he won't care about the man who was being tested, you have challenged his authority."

Chris had actually taken the initiative to talk to him.

Yang Yi shouldn't trust anyone in prison and shouldn't form any bonds with anyone here. Chris wouldn't help Yang Yi. It would be just like what he had recently experienced every time. He no longer had any expectations for his cellmate. They were just inmates serving out their sentences in the same cell.

Chris attitude had changed because Yang Yi had actually poked someone's eye out. Everyone would always pay attention to those who were vicious.

"Chris, how long is your sentence?"

Yang Yi didn't answer Chris and asked the question he wanted to know instead.

Chris answered after some hesitation, "Six years. There is still one more year to go."

"It won't be long now. You have been here a long time. Can you tell me if there are any other Asians here?"

Yang Yi intended to find Zhang Yong quickly now.

Chris answered softly, "Asians? There are a few."

"Tell me more about them. Thanks."

After giving it some thought, Chris said, "There are two Indian men here. I also know there are two Vietnamese men who belong to the Vietnamese gang."

Yang Yi was shocked, "There are only Indians and Vietnamese? There are no other Asians? Are there any other yellow-skinned Asians besides the Vietnamese?"

Chris gave it another moment of thought before shaking his head, "There are none. This prison has very few Asians. I don't recall there being any other Asians here."

Yang Yi was flustered and hurriedly said, "Impossible! There are definitely more. Think again, there are no more yellow-skinned Asians?

Chris gave it another moment of thought before shaking his again, "There are definitely no others."

Yang Yi was perturbed. He had gotten sent into prison yet Zhang Yong was already released. It would be the biggest joke ever if it was true.

"There are some Asians in the felony section as well but I don't have any information on them."

Yang Yi was considering his next move when he heard Chris's remarks. "Felony section?"

"Yes. The prison keeps the felons and those who were sentenced for misdemeanors separate. The felons are dangerous. So, the prison keeps the free activity and meal time for the two groups separate as well. Although we live in the same area, our two worlds will never meet."

Yang Yi was relieved and mumbled, "Felons? If that's the case, there's a possibility he's there."

Chris replied with a frown, "You want to join the Asian gang? You're still young. You should carefully consider it. Joining a gang is not a good decision. However, the decision is ultimately yours."

Yang Yi chuckled before asking Chris, "Can I ask you a question, dad? Is there anyway I can get in touch with someone from the felony section?"

Chris hesitated for a moment before nodding, "Sure. If an inmate is particularly violent, he may get sent to the felony section."
