2 he’s an alpha?

I woke about mid day my back sore from sleeping on the floor. Slowly stretching I opened the door half expecting the Male to be gone and for everything that happened last night to be a dream.

No such luck he was still here in my bed no less but at least still breathing. All I could do now was wait for his body to finish healing.

Going into the bathroom I groaned, there was blood every where. Guess I better get this cleaned up before work.

Once cleaned I looked in the mirror, my black hair was sticking out everywhere. Sighing I went back into the room quietly I grabbed another pair of short shorts and a black tank top with matching underwear.

Returning to the bathroom I put the knife I still held on the stand next to the shower. I may be a softy but I wasn't stupid.

Closing my eyes as the water caressed my body I couldn't help but picture the blue of his eyes. They were so unlike my plain green eyes. I growled at myself. Why was I even thinking about them? Yea ok they were the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen but I didn't even know who he was. Hell I didn't even know his name come to think of it.

Sighing for the thousandth time today I turned off the water and got dressed. Looking in the mirror I applied a small amount of make up and did my hair up in a pony tail. I hated wearing makeup but it brought in more tips so I put up with it only applying enough to highlight my cheek bones.

Ready for work I got a piece of paper and pen and started to write a note for the male wolf currently residing in my bed.

Dear mystery wolf,

If your still here when I get back I'll see you after work otherwise take these extra bandages when you leave.

I paused wondering if I should leave my name shrugging I figured what's the harm and signed.

Raven

P.S. try not to break into anyone else's house most aren't as accomodating as I am.

Smiling I left the note and extra bandages on the table and left for work.

Now I know what your thinking a strange wolf inside my house and I'm just carrying on like normal? Well you would be surprised how often this kind of thing happens. You see there's actually not all that many packs at least not in these parts anyway. So for a lone wolf to be wondering the woods alone and hurt, it's likely that they just got into a fight with another lone wolf over territory or something stupid like that.

Most wolves when they have no pack live in the wild very few try their luck in the human world Loki and I being the only ones that I know of around this area. The packs mostly live in the bigger cities controlling large companies and the like. With a pack comes a lot of mouths to feed so gaining money is paramount to survival. The more money a pack has the bigger the pack and the stronger they are.

There's been many a time when a lone wolf has come to Loki to seek help. He usually just patches them up and sends them on their way. Why he asked me to stay I'll never know but I'm kinda glad he did. I mean I hate being a waitress but I love being in the mountains. The air the trees it's just so quite and gives me a sense of freedom I never had living in the city.

Entering the diner it was already packed with people. One of the truckers slapped me on the arse as I walked by causing Loki to yell.

"Oi touch her again and you can eat some where else."

The burly truckie held up his hands in innocence as he winked at me going back to his food.

Reaching behind the counter I grabbed my apron tying it around my waist as I scowled at Loki.

"I can fight my own battles you know."

Not looking up as he worked the grill he answered.

"I don't need a repeat of last time missy."

"Come on Loki the last guy was a creep he deserved what he got."

Turning Loki bent over the counter as he whispered.

"Yes but he was also human and if he reports us, the counsel will try to shut us down. The last thing I need is for them to be breathing down my neck because you have this overwhelming urge to prove your stronger then people think."

I sighed.

"I said I was sorry when are you gonna let it go?"

"When you learn to behave yourself."

"Yes dad."

I answered sarcastically sticking my tongue out at him.

"Child."

He ruffled my hair causing me to attempt to slap his hand away but of corse he was too fast.

"Gone on Rave that table over there needs serving."

Rave was Loki's nick name for me it always made me smile. Why couldn't he be my real dad? He would never banish me just because I had no wolf or that I couldn't shift.

I started to turn away when I remembered the male wolf from this morning.

"Oh what happened with the Male from last night?"

Loki's face darkened.

"Never you mind about him he was just passing through."

I could tell by his face that he was hiding something but I knew he would never tell me. Loki was very private and never revealed much about himself except the fact that he was banished.

Shrugging I turned away to serve the table by the window when Loki grabbed my arm.

"But just in case keep an eye out for anything suspicious."

I squinted at him but he didn't elaborate, my mind went to the wolf at home in my bed. I started to open my mouth to tell Loki but something stopped me. Those blue eyes again haunted my mind I smiled and went back to work.

I don't know why I didn't tell him I guess I just didn't think it was all that relevant. Still something was strange about it. First this strange wolf visits the diner then yet another strange wolf at my home.

Hopefully by the time I get home he will be gone and will take his troubles with him.

By the end of my shift I was so tired after only a few hours sleep I was looking forward to going home and getting in my nice warm bed.

As I was leaving Loki stopped me.

"Why don't I walk you home tonight?"

I stared at him.

"Seriously Loki? I think I'll be fine."

I made to leave but he grabbed my arm.

"I'm not joking Rave be careful I don't like it when other wolves are in town."

"I thought you said he was just passing through?"

"He was but...."

His voice trailed off as I stared into his one good eye trying to figure out what had gotten him so agitated.

"What's going on Loki who was he really?"

Letting go of my arm he stepped back dismissing my worried look.

"Nothing kiddo just worried about you is all."

I growled.

"Just because I can't shift doesn't mean I can't look after myself."

He rubbed his forehead suddenly seeming his age.

"I know Rave I didn't mean it like that I just..."

"It's fine I'm sorry Loki I guess I'm just tired."

He pulled me in for a hug kissing my forehead.

"Go on kid go get some sleep have tomorrow off."

Pulling away I smiled.

"Are you sure."

"Yea might give you a chance to read that book you can't put down."

I threw my arms around him kissing his cheek.

"I still get paid for it tho right?"

He laughed.

"Don't push your luck now get."

Closing the door behind me I headed down the road the lights of the diner fading in the distance.

It wasn't til I reached my front door before I realised I'd have to change the sheets considering the male from last night probably left blood every where that's if he even left yet.

Taking a deep breath I opened the door preparing to fight if he was still hanging around. However one look at the table and the missing bandages told me he was gone. Leaning against the table I pulled my shoes off as my eyes traveled to the note still sitting on top.

Just under my note that I had left was another note in the most beautiful cursive writing I had ever seen.

Thanks again Raven

Kianti alpha of the blue moon pack.

I swore as I stubbed my toe of the table leg shocked at the last part.

He's an alpha?! What the hell was an alpha doing here in Colorado? I kept reading as I rubbed my sore toe.

P.S. it's not considered breaking in if the doors unlocked.

I chuckled as I headed towards my bedroom grabbing new sheets on the way. My mind still reeling from the fact that he was an alpha. Kianti I wondered why I had never heard of him before. I thought I knew the names of all the alphas. Last time I heard Braze was the alpha of the blue moon pack. I guess Kianti challenged him and won seeing as that's the only other way to become alpha apart from inheriting it.

I paused at the end of my bed hesitating to change the sheets. The smell of sandalwood and musk still strong on them. I took a deep breath as I suddenly picked up another scent. Before I could turn around hands wrapped around me. Pulling me back as a hand lifted my up by the throat.

"Where is he?!"

I struggled to pull the hands away from my neck.

"I don't know who your talking about."

I gasped as he pulled me back slamming me into the wall, it was the same guy from the diner last night.

"Don't lie to me."

He got closer breathing in.

"I smell wolf in you yet not all wolf so a hybrid then? Half human perhaps?"

He had loosed his grip just enough to let me get some air as I tried to fight him off. It was useless however he was too strong.

"Well out with it I know he was here his scent is all over the place."

I shook my head.

"I don't know who your talking about."

He slammed me again as stars entered my vision.

"Don't play dumb with me mutt."

I gritted my teeth in anger I hated that nick name for lone wolves it was so demeaning. Quickly I spit in his face. he wiped it off with his sleeve as he sneered with so Much hate fear took over.

"You will regret that mutt."

He raised his fist knocking me to the ground as I tried to get up, he hit me again knocking me unconscious instantly as everything went dark.
