FUND RAISING EVENT

Ivan and Kaye arrived at the plaza where the fundraising event was held just before the opening time. It was a big place with different stuff being displayed. There were school supplies, toys and clothes being donated. There were clothes, foods and plants that were sold to raise funds. It was a crowded place, but an organized one.

"You didn't tell me you're going to a fundraising event. I didn't bring anything with me." Ivan whispered to her as they walked around looking for the stall that she'd give the clothes she brought with her.

"It's okay. I brought some clothes here. These will do." She has still holding his hands, leading the way. Maybe or maybe not, Ivan noticed the slight tremble of her hands, not due to embarrassment or fear, but due to bubbling happiness.

"How about I'll let them sell my watch?" he asked her out or the blue while walking. Kaye stopped ang looked at him.

"Sir Ivan, your watch is too expensive. It would take time for them to sell it. Let's go to a charity auction next time so people can bid on that." she offered him a workaround instead. She didn't want to disappoint him, seeing how he wanted to help, but his watch cost hundreds of thousands. She even started to doubt what his family status is. It shouldn't be average given that Ms. Harley owned an apartment complex, a hotel and restaurant.

"Sure. I'll remind you next time just in case you forgot." he joked at her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. His eyes were staring at her blankly.

"Duh," Kaye rolled her eyes, "I won't break my promise. I'll bring you to an auction next time." However, her face was turning red from his gaze even though he couldn't really see her.

"Ms. Kaye, you're here. How are you?" Jane greeted her who noticed her first standing in the middle of the crowd, holding hands with someone.

"Jane, it's good that you've found me. This place is so big, I almost got lost. Here." she gave the bag that contained the clothes she would like to sell. "Is mother Alicia here?" Kaye asked the girl who was checking her clothes.

"Ms. Kaye, your clothes are the best. With regards to the headmistress, she didn't come. She said she isn't feeling well, so we are in charge of the event today." explained the young lady.

"I see. Oh by the way, this is Ivan, he's a good friend of mine." Kaye introduced Ivan to the young girl. "Ivan, this is Jane. She's one of the social workers in the orphanage that I visited last time." 'Last time when we argued.' she wanted to add it but it would certainly ruin the atmosphere so she stopped, but that doesn't mean Ivan didn't know what she wanted to say. After all, that was the cause of their first argument.

"Nice to meet you." Ivan reached out his hand, but it didn't escape Jane's eyes the hesitation that crossed on his face, either to shake with his left or right hand. In the end, he chose to shake with his left hand and his right hand was still holding Kaye's hands.

"It's nice meeting you, sir Ivan." Jane took his hand for a shake with a faint smile. "I'm glad you guys made it here."

"Did my mom send her products here already?" Kaye asked to change topics.

"Yes, Ms. Kaye. We received them this morning. We got some clothes from your parents as well." Jane informed her while guiding them towards their own space.

"What are the charities that would benefit this event?" Ivan asked Kaye as they walked, following Jane.

"A lot. There are orphanages like the one Jane handles. There are some for cancer patients, for homeless people, for animal shelter, for scholars, like many more. My parents and I go for orphanages." she explained to him not letting him know so much about her, just the basic facts of the charity.

"I don't normally go to this kind of places, but I would give donations." Ivan told her, leaning closer to her to avoid bumping into people.

"I'll bring you to the orphanage sometime. The children there are very nice. They're special to me. You'll definitely like it there." she said with excitement. Ivan was happy that she's starting to open up to him, but he felt that Kaye was still hiding something big from him.

"I'll anticipate that." Ivan said to her with a bright smile. Even though his eyes don't show expressions, Kaye felt that his eyes were showing happiness. She shook her head to get rid of her imaginations. 'Daydreaming isn't good.'

Jane has been observing the two of them from time to time and after a while, she realized that the man was actually blind. She didn't say anything but she felt sad for Kaye. She could see the love in her eyes, her heart in his hands but too bad, the guy couldn't see it.

"We're here. This is our space." Jane showed them the place of their area.

"Wow. You have bigger space this year." Kaye looked around the area, greeted the other workers who came with Jane and showed Ivan the space with all the descriptions she could give.

"I really wish I can see the things you see." Ivan uttered mindlessly making Kaye stiffened and horrified.

"You...you want...you want to get your eye sight back?" she asked him for confirmation. She was scared. Her fear was evident. She loosened her hand that's holding him and rubbed her palm on her skirt.

"You don't want me to?" Ivan answered her question with a question as well.

Kaye laughed dryly with his question. "How can that be? Haha. I'll support you in that matter. When will you get a surgery?"

"I don't think it would be soon. I don't want you to kick me out of the apartment yet." Ivan turned around, didn't want to hear her sigh of relief. He knew it. He knew that she wouldn't want him to see her, but he wants to see her.

She's the world he wanted to see.
