Kaye wiped her tears using the tissue that Ivan gave her. "I wasn't even done talking and you're crying already." Ivan joked at her while rubbing her back.
"I really thought you're angry." She complained back at him between sniffing and sobbing.
"Alright. It's my fault. I'm sorry." Ivan held her in a tight embrace, giving her enough space for breathing.
After a few minutes, when Kaye had calmed down, Ivan drove the car once again.
When they reached the airport, Ivan parked the car and took out his suitcase. He was holding the suitcase with his left hand while he held Kaye with his right. They looked like a real couple out on a trip, but Kaye knew it would be put to an end when Ivan get a girlfriend. What's more, he had been planning to propose already.
Kaye was in a deep thought regarding Ivan's situation. They haven't seen the woman yet, she's not his girlfriend, but he's going to propose already. 'Isn't it in disorder situation? How can he propose without her becoming his girlfriend?'
Kaye wanted to express her thoughts but she decided to shut her mouth instead. She didn't want to ruin the atmosphere in that moment.
"Oh. You're coming with us?" Alex asked with excitement when he saw Kaye walking beside Ivan. His face was full of mischief but Kaye dashed out whatever plan he got.
"I'm not coming with you guys. I'm just sending him here." Kaye admitted with a flushed face since Ivan's employees were looking at her. Given the fact that Ivan uploaded a photo of them, she was really under pressure from their surprise and scrutinizing gazes.
"I'm so envious of boss. His girlfriend came to send him off, but my fiancee was such a sleepy head she didn't want to drive me here." stated one of the men who would be coming with Ivan.
"Madam Boss, do you have a sister?" asked another guy with a teasing tone. Kaye's face turned to a deep shade of red from embarrassment.
"Who are you calling madam boss?" She tugged Ivan's hand to indicate that she needs help, but Ivan just smiled at her, adding fuel to her flustered face.
"Your Madam Boss doesn't have a sister. She's a one and only child." Ivan answered with a wide grin on his face.
Alex chuckled upon seeing her blush. He knew how important this woman to Ivan, even letting the people know his feelings towards her.
It's just a sad thing that both of them were so dense. People could see the love in their eyes for each other but they couldn't seem to see it for themselves.
They teased her with questions and comments regarding the photos until Kaye got used to it. She laughed with them, expressed her ideas and provided tips for some fun in Singapore. She's been there a few times so she knew some places that they would certainly enjoy.
"Wait here a bit. I'll get some food." Ivan wiped the bench with tissue before Kaye took a seat on it.
"Don't spend too much." Kaye responded since she knew Ivan would spend extravagantly for her.
When Ivan was out of sight, Alex approached her with a devilish smile plastered on his face.
"You're up to no good again." Kaye commented before pulling Ivan's suitcase near her.
"Not really. I just want to ask you a question. It's about the time you got drunk." Alex crossed his arms on his chest while looking at her.
"Just ask. You don't have to stand there intimidating me. It's not working." Kaye crossed her legs before placing her chin on her palm.
Alex took out his phone to type something. The other employees had left earlier to buy stuff or to use the comfort room, so it's just the two of them facing each other. Eva was quite away from them since she was taking a call.
"Here." Alex gave his phone to her which contained the question, 'YOU LOVE IVAN, RIGHT?'
Kaye's finger trembled from panic. Her face was expressionless but her eyes showed fear.
"You don't have to be afraid. I know how to keep secrets." Alex took back his phone. 'This is really fun. But if they would hurt each other, I'll let them know. Anyway, the feeling is mutual.'
Kaye couldn't decipher what Alex was thinking but his eyes were shining with joy.
"Help me keep it a secret. I heard Ivan was planning to propose to the girl he likes. I don't want to ruin any relationship. I'm staying as of the moment, but I will leave when the time comes for him to get engaged." Kaye spoke in a soft voice coat with plea and concern.
"I won't say a thing." Alex assured her before pocketing his phone since Ivan was already back.
"I got you water. No sweets this time." Ivan gave her a bag of food that they could share. "The place was crowded so I didn't want you to eat there."
"It's fine." Kaye smiled at him before taking out the food that he bought. She gave some to Alex and Eva as well.
When they were about to board, Ivan pulled her in a hug. His face was buried on her neck, giving her a ticklish feeling but Kaye stood still while trying to calm her heart.
"You wait for me. Don't see anyone. If the man you like comes to see you or if you coincidentally sees him, avoid him. No matter what you have to wait for me to come back." Ivan was scared that she'd be stolen away from him knowing that Kaye still liked that man.
"What are you talking about? I won't go anywhere if it's not business related. Make sure you take care of yourself and come back home." Kaye responded while giving him a pat on his back.
"I will really miss you." Ivan was holding her face this time. His eyes were twirling with different emotions.
"Just give me a call." Kaye retorted back at him.
"Drive carefully." Ivan kissed her forehead which made Kaye stiffened on her spot. "What is it?" Ivan asked when she was looking shock and surprise.
"Nothing. Just go. I'll wait for you." I've waited for years, what's one week compared to that? Kaye wanted to add these but she just smiled at him instead.
Ivan followed Alex to board the plane. Kaye stood on her place until Ivan was out of her sight.
A heavy sigh escaped from her lips. "Why is love so complicated?"
