Chapter 18: Hectic School Life

She questioned him: "Why are there only three items listed here, President? Shouldn't we have more matters to discuss than just these sad few?"

"Yes, you're indeed correct." He nodded his head in acknowledgement. "But, I don't think hastily discussing numerous things all at once and then quickly making decisions out of it is a wise move. So why not just take things slow and steady. Y'know, to make things more sound and thorough."

"Hmph. And do you think we can get things done on time if we go at this in a relaxed manner? Don't forget that we have about five pending requests and events to deal with today, and the week after that."

"Vice-president Sison, excuse me for asking but do you perhaps have any suggestions in mind?" Renan turned around from the bulletin board to face her while giving a light smile. "I'm no tyrant or dictator so I'm open to any ideas you offer. On the condition that it's viable, of course."

"Oh, really now? And I thought all men disregarded the sentiments of us women. Fine then, what I propose is that you lend me the same authority as you have so that I can organize my own committee. In that way, we will have more human resources to spare and consequently, business will be conducted in a more efficient manner."

"Hmm… I see."

Renan closed his eyes for a bit while also placing a hand on his chin, as he pretended to seriously ponder over the vice-president's proposition. But inwardly, he had other thoughts in his head.

'Hehehe. Like this girl actually cares about work efficiency when all she wants is to bypass my authority as the head of the student council. It's blatantly obvious that she doesn't like to be under any sort of male supremacy, I've already noticed that in the past several weeks that we've been working together.'

Renan opened his eyes right at this instant to look at her, and those shiny emerald pupils of hers stared back unwaveringly.

'But, I can understand her point that this would be an effective route. She is after all a capable leader in her own right, so maybe handing her some power could prove useful to me…'

And so, he answered her expectations as he arrived at a conclusion.

"This… could work. But first you must prove yourself to be competent, as I will only be giving you the same authority as I have for two weeks. Think of this as a probationary period for you when you do decide to run up against me again in the next upcoming elections."

"Hehehe. This just might be the best decision you've ever made as the student council president." She lightly chuckled and flashed a rare, captivating smile towards him.

"You forgot to add-in the yet… But yeah, I hope you'll prove your words today right." He smiled in kind.

"Oh please, that's a given. And there was actually no need for me to say yet, since that's the only great decision you will ever be making as the student council president."

"Hohoho! You best be jesting, Vice-president Sison."

And so, two equally attractive individuals' pretentious laughter rang out in the student council room and could even be heard outside of it.

After his one-on-one meeting with the student council vice-president, Renan walked through the sixth floor's hallway while being greeted by each passing student on the way. He reacted with a friendly smile every time, and before long he once again reached the staff exclusive elevator.

Stepping inside, he pressed the fourth floor button and the sliding door of the elevator automatically closed on its own. Then, it quickly brought him down to the designated floor. Instantly when the elevator door opened, he briskly walked off and proceeded towards his classroom.

"Good morning, President Roxas."

"Greetings, student leader."

Several of his classmates in this section immediately got up from their seats and greeted him kindly, especially the girls who were all over him. He handsomely smiled and accepted all of their profound respect for him with as much elegance as a King would have to his lowly subjects.

Afterwards, he went over to his seat and gracefully parked his bottom on it. He was located somewhere in the middle of the class; not too close or too far from the teacher's podium. His seatmate was currently not here yet, so he sat there alone on their shared desk. Well, not really alone per se…

"President Renan, what did you have for dinner today? As for me, I ate a magnificent lobster for breakfast prepared by our family's four-star chef."

"Huh? What did you say? Only four stars? Pardon me for my involuntary flexing, but me and my family eat one-thousand-five-hundred pounds of Wagyu beef taken from a whole cow for our everyday meals! It's even personally made by a world renowned celebrity chef! You might have even seen him on TV somewhere before."

"Hahaha! You're making me laugh so hard right now! How about you move your haughty ass aside bitch 'cause I devour an entire Megalodon for f**king breakfast!" One boy rudely bellowed out from the sidelines.

"You…! What did you say to me f**k boy!? I dare you to say that to my face right this instant!"

Extremely triggered by his words, the haughty girl hurled out words like a machine gun towards him that was devoid of any sense of grace and dignity seen in a mature woman. These crazy fangirls just wouldn't stop pestering as well as not letting him have some nice peace and quiet for himself...

He sorrowfully sighed and lamented at his fate of being a very sought after pretty boy. Seriously, how long does he have to endure and suffer through this life's horrible tribulation? And where was his good ol' brother that always manages to get him out of these kinds of messy situations?

But, just when he was about to give up on life and was beginning to drown in pure and utter dismay, a godsent savior finally came to him to grant his long-awaited salvation from this hellhole. And it came in the form of a youth's lazy and irritated voice.

"Oi, you girls. Can you all just shut the hell up and stop being such a nuisance for one second? Damnit, my ears are already starting to hurt me this early in the damn morning."
