Prologue ~ A deathly Scene

Blood continued to stain her face as she stared at the thing before her, a body that had no face nor was it recognizable due to the fact that it looked like it had been torn to shreds. She didn't know what happened or how it happened. Only that it did and there was nothing she could do to stop it, or didn't she?

After all, it was just a drink here and there. Along with some chatting here and there until he leaned closer to her, it left her almost wincing and wrenching as he smelt of beer only because he drank more than her. But that was not what got her scared and sick, no it was the fact that he also came on to her a little strongly- invading her private space without asking or thinking about how to respond. They were just mates she and him, they knew each other since high school and now they graduated from their school in order to enter college in order to achieve their own dreams. But now... now it had to be postponed and all because of this.

It was odd though, she never did think that it would happen. It was always in her head as she heard them so she assumed, they never did hurt her only fill her ears with their whispered voices. They were always eerie and left her shivering slightly as one passed through her before she could think to avoid one. It's thin hair like touch always left her shivering as they were always cold and rough. No soft but scary and they would often leave her ruined and deprived of sleep. Who were they she didn't know but what she did know was that everywhere she went, every time she was in danger things would happen and now it had happened again. This time her friend had paid the price or should she ever call him that. How could he assume that she wanted to become more than mates, he knew how she felt and yet at times he made gestures here and there. Each touch scared her even though she believed that he was cool. Sure he was a little scary and dangerous, even when they first met.

His mesmerizing cold eyes always left her shivering, fearing him slightly but she would often try to push that away. Especially when he stopped a bunch of girls from harassing her by breaking into one of the girl's bathroom just to beat up a guy who was about to attack her and ended up getting her out.

"We're friend's, aren't we Chloe?" he asked with a smirk shortly after they began talking more, or maybe it was him who came to her more often. She didn't get it though, she didn't understand why he would come on strongly but it was nice to feel wanted at times. However there were times when she did hear their voices telling her to run away from him, saying that he was dangerous and not to be dangerous. So what? He was her friend and she respected his dream which was to be a fighter, even though at times it did worry her when he got into street fights. Most times it would often result in him getting arrested and put in juvie. But only for the night, he always somehow got out of trouble thanks to his guardian Terry Smith. Another scary looking guy who worked and owned a boxing ring, at times Terry never did stop her friend from going there to fight. Not that she could stop her friend for whenever he had set his mind to something, he would do it whether she wanted him to or not. Was that being a bad friend? Maybe she was being naïve but now, now she couldn't think or do anything.

How could this have all happened?

All Chloe could remember was that she was at her house until he showed up with a few bottles of beer even though they were sixteen. They had talked for hours, catching up on how the other was doing until things grew tense and slightly awkward. But why though? He wouldn't hurt her and yet just as they got close- it happened.

Blood followed by death filled her eyes as she watched him cry out in pain while his hands covered his face, shooting up he wailed in pain until his legs collided with the table causing his front to land into the glass table resulting in a loud smash. A loud gasp ripped from her lips as she stared in horror after forcing herself to stand up.

"Harry?" she croaked weakly as she stared at his now frozen form, he wasn't moving as the broken table was properly in pieces. Not one part of the table was intact but that was the last thing on her list of concerns, her friend was lying in a pool of his blood and was no longer moving or making any sounds.

"HARRY?" a panicked cry left her lips as she started to panic, her heart pounding harshly as tears formed in her eyes.

"HARRY?!" Chloe screamed loudly as she moved her hands shakily towards him but stopped, instead she took a step back and began to shake like a leaf. Her eyes wide as she grew sick and scared.

'I told you he was dangerous' said one of the voices that entered her ears. She shivered and whimpered even more before the sounds of her house door opening, this caused Chloe to turn to the door and cry as she saw the now shocked faces of her parents.

"M-Mama! I-I don't know what happened!" she cried weakly, her voice forced and shaky causing her parents who were frozen to the spot until they looked at her petrified face. The mother immediately rushed towards her and pulled her into a hug, that in turn left Chloe breaking down as she hugged her mother tightly. Not even her mother's soothing tones could soothe her woes, how could it when her friend was now dead? Bottles were on the sofa and floor leaving anyone who could see them with ideas that were no doubt unpleasant. But it's not like she attacked him, she wouldn't attack him and he no doubt would vouch for that since he would often call her a 'frightened little mouse' who wouldn't lift a finger to hurt someone. At times he would joke about it but it was harmless and she would never hold it against him, but now... what could she say now?

He was dead...

And it was her fault.
