Chapter 6

I am so sorry I haven't been updating. I have a major case of writer's block. I have the idea of what I want the chapter to go but I can't seem to get my ideas on paper. I am working on it and I'll have the chapter out as soon as I can but again I am so sorry. The book before this one I had taken down because I could write it out or figure out what I want to do with it. I am hoping I won't have to do the same with this book. Also something I am going to point out is that even if I don't write it out Estelle is still going to therapy.

Estelle's POV

"Does Amell know," I asked. She shook her head but before she could say anything else an alarm was sounded. We rushed out of my room to see what was wrong. The lights were along the walls. Some were flashing and some weren't. "That means there isn't an emergency, only that there is a gathering somewhere. We need to follow the lights," Astrid told me. The flashing red lights lead us to the landing pad, where we found a pod on the pad. Whoever was inside refused to step out of the machine. We saw that people were leaving. Were we late to the meeting? Astrid stopped one of the people. "What's going on," she asked. "No clue, no one is to leave unless told and so far no is to stay," she said. Seeing us, Amell started towards us. "Hey," my brother said as he got closer. We waved at him, when he approached us. He plants a kiss on Astrid's mouth. "Where did you run off to," he asked Astrid. "I went to Estelle's room," she said.

"Why did you go to Estelle's room," he asks her. He had a confused look on his face, when he turned to me. "I had asked her to," I lied. It felt wrong lying to him but it's not my place to tell. He nods his head as if my explanation makes sense. I know me getting along with Astrid is important to him. We do get along but I just don't know her well enough to like her. For all I know she could be like all the others. Nice on the outside but horrible on the inside. "What's going on," Astrid asked him. He motioned for us to follow him and started towards the pad. We followed him, confused. "We need you two to see if you can talk to her," he says, pointing at the pod. Now that I am closer I see a girl that looks quite familiar but I couldn't remember where I saw her from. I shook the feeling off as I walked closer. She was holding a... sword? I looked at the long metal blade she pointed at my brother. Yep that is definitely a sword. Strange. Not as strange as the fact Amell was only standing about three feet from her. "Honey, maybe you shouldn't stand so close to the person getting ready to stab you," Astrid said, reaching for her boyfriend. I giggled. She gave me a curt look and I motioned to come closer to us. He sighed and gave into Astrid's wishes.

As he walked towards us, I looked into the girl's green eyes and couldn't help feeling that I know her. "Where am I," she asked. I pointed at the wall that said The Maiden, she looked relieved. Our ship is known as a safe haven for people who are endangered. Dropping her weapon, she went back into the pod and came back out with two capsules. The capsules were… crying. When she set them down I could see inside them. The capsules contained two crying babies. Babies… She has two babies. They looked new. As if they were just born. "So what is your name," When my brother reached her, Astrid asked her. My brother held Astrid's hand and the girl looked at Amell distrustful. She took a deep breath and said "I'll only talk when he is gone." I looked at my brother, confused. Why does she want him to leave? "Amell, sweet, can you leave," Astrid asked. He nodded and walked to the door. We watched as he walked. When he was out of the room, the girl sighed and fell on her knees.

She crawled over to the capsules and tried to soothe the babies they contained. There was a nagging me in the back of my head. I can swear I know her, but where. If she has been living in space I can't possibly know her on earth. She just got on The Maiden so I can't know her from here. So I can't possibly know her, yet I can't shake the feeling. "Who are you," Astrid asked harshly. The girl seemed hesitant and Astrid was clearly irritated. I assume it's because she had to kick her boyfriend out of the room. She continued her irritated tradied and the girl stayed silent. As my brother's girlfriend had her one sided integration, I studied the girl. I can't place her but I know I know her. How? I looked at her red hair and green eyes and it hit me.

"Annabeth," I breathed. Her body jerked in surprise, unexpecting her name to be called. She looked at me for the first time, more than a glance. She looked at me like she saw a ghost. Honestly she kind of is, looking at a ghost. That's all I am, a ghost. Always in the background, a side character in someone else's story. Never the main character. Always the punching bag, never the boxer. "Estelle," she questioned. I nodded my head. Annabeth. She was the girl that went missing. Her brother, Ben, searched the world for her, but to no avail. Now, I see why, because she wasn't in the world. She was outside it, a place they couldn't find her. I never expected to see her again. Suddenly, she ran to me and fell into my arms. I wrapped my arms around her, and we both started to cry. We fell to the floor, never letting go of eachother. Our pasts are intertwined. We looked into each other's eyes, and felt the other's pain. Neither of us knowing the other's past but know the tears that fell from our eyes.
