The Ultimate Slaughter, Eyes of the Son of Heaven!

Cold raindrops trailed down Ling Feng's scalp, landing heavily on the corpse-littered ground in front of him. Chen Huang's corpse lay beside him, barely recognizable. As the vertical pupil above his forehead closed, leaving behind a single dark-red scar, he lifted hands that had become ruined by foreign bits of flesh.

"Not only am I alive, but my vision has also returned!"

Holding his breath, Ling Feng gently removed the golden needle from his head. Then he frowned. He had expected to die last night, not go mad with bloodlust and miraculously regain his eyesight.

"But since Heaven hasn't deigned to receive my soul, then it must want you dead, Su Lin!"

Ling Feng's eyes began to boil over with rage. When suddenly, the scar on his forehead vanished and a feeling of weakness flooded his heart. The weariness settling in his muscles made him want to find a warm bed and not wake up for the next week. But he had no time to indulge the heaviness settling in his bones or think about what had just happened. He had to get back to his grandfather who was still inside the walls of the city.

Forcing himself to stay awake, Ling Feng rushed out of the ruined grove without hesitation.

Back in the city, several male servants tossed messy bags and a single, well-worn medicine kit beyond the entrance to the city lord's residence. As the baggage grew soaked in the pouring rain, one of the more robust men pushed a hoary-headed old man out into the wet street and yelled, "Go away old man and don't ever think of coming back!"

The disheveled old man stumbled to his feet and shouted, "How dare you! I am the grandfather of the city lord's son-in-law. You can't treat me this way!"

But as if remembering something, the old man suddenly turned around with a speed that belied his age and scrambled for the box containing his medicinal supplies.

At the sight of the old man's desperate appearance, another one of the servants couldn't help but say, "Ha-ha-ha… the son-in-law of the city lord? You're mistaken old man. By now, that boy of yours should be kneeling at the feet of Yama!"

As these words caused everyone around him to erupt into a round of laughter, a middle-aged man, the steward of the city lord's residence, removed a bag of silver from his pocket.

"Your grandson tried to rape our young lady, so he will receive the proper penalty as a result," he said, before tossing the bag at the old man's feet. "But seeing as how he did succeed in curing her, the city lord has still graciously decided to pay you for services rendered. Now take what is owed and leave!"

"What? What did you say?" Ling Kun's bright eyes went blank. "Feng'er… my grandson, Feng, he… what has happened to him?"

"Hey, if you hurry now to the back side of the mountain, maybe you can still see him before the end." The steward sneered. "As a toad who lusted after a swan's flesh, death can be his only home to return to!"

"You…" Ling Kun jabbed an accusatory finger at the steward. "Even after he became blind, Feng'er chose to stay behind and treat your young lady. You will all face heavenly retribution for your actions!"

"Retribution?"

The middle-aged steward tightened his grip on the iron rod in his hand.

"Damnit, old man, if you don't get out of here, I will deliver you to see Yama earlier than Heaven intended!"

The iron rod hummed as he twirled it between his fingers.

Ling Kun ignored the threat and rushed forward, tears trailing behind him.

"Come out, Su Lin!" he shouted. "I want to see if your heart is truly so black!"

"Old thing, since you're choosing to court death, I will make you pay for that decision with your life!"

Faint disgust marred the steward's tone before he slammed his iron rod against the side of Ling Kun's temple.

"Crack!"

Lightning streaked across the expanse of the sky, and rain continued to fall. It was as if Heaven was trying to wash the entire city away.

"Grandfather!"

Ling Feng arrived just in time to see the steward knock his grandfather to the ground. Anger flaring from nothing to a holy terror, he stabbed a golden acupuncture needle into the crown of his head once more.

"Buzz!"

His mind shook, and the vertical pupil reopened. A hellish aura flooded the air just as quickly.

"You're all going to die!"

Tears of blood ran down his face, and a pair of eyes akin to pools of blood flashed strange rays of crimson light.

"Shua!"

In the blink of an eye, Ling Feng had tackled a servant and ripped his chest open.

"Feng'er!"

Tears began to well up in Ling Kun's eyes. But once he saw the vertical pupil on Ling Feng's forehead, he began to yell, "The Tianzi Eyes! The Eyes of the Son of Heaven!"

Before he could go on, darkness claimed his consciousness.

"You're all going to die!"

Believing his grandfather to be dead now, maddened fury drove another beast-like roar from Ling Feng's throat.

"Die! Die! Die!"

For a moment, the steward's knees shook with fear until he remembered that he was a member of the Coagulating Qi Boundary.

"Y-you… don't come any closer or I'll kill you!"

Ling Feng ignored the steward's hollow warning. Killing was the only thing left to him and he would see its desire satisfied. After slaughtering a few more servants, he rushed to the cowering man's position.

The steward drove him back with a clumsy block. But instead of remaining behind to fight, the man ran into the Su Residence and started shouting, "Help, there's trouble!"

The steward's cries immediately awoke the sleeping Su.

Frowning deeply, Su Shixiong flung on his clothes and rushed out of his bedroom, long spear in hand.

"Who dares cause trouble in my domain!" he challenged.

As the entire Su Family—the house guards, the elders, and the youth alike—followed behind him, Su Shixiong's pupils fiercely shrank. He had recognized that bloodied form.

"Ling Feng!" he shouted.

Su Lin, who rushed out moments later clothed only in a thin garment, almost collapsed to the ground.

"Ling Feng… h-how did you turn into this?" she whimpered, shivering all over. To her eyes, Ling Feng resembled an asura that had crawled from the bowels of hell to claim revenge. He was covered in blood, and a vertical pupil adorned his head. As she stared at him, she felt as if countless malicious ghosts had begun to entangle her body.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

The moment Ling Feng's eyes fell upon Su Lin, a black mark in the shape of a yin-yang fish appeared inside both of his blood-colored pupils, strengthening his hellish aura.

"What courage!"

Angered by Ling Feng's ignoring of his presence, Su Shixiong leveled his spear at him and shouted, "Evil creature, I don't know what kind of monster you've become. But today, this old man must enforce justice on behalf of the Heavens by extinguishing you!"

Naturally, as city lord, Su Shixiong possessed a certain level of strength to be worthy of the title. He was the powerhouse of a renown sect, his cultivation base had reached the 10th stage of Qi Coagulation long ago, and the long spear in his hand was a low-grade profound item. He wasn't someone to be taken lightly, a truth he would make Ling Feng learn before he took the youth's final breath.

"Shua!"

A cold light flashed like the glow of the stars as he thrust his spear forward without warning. Half-expecting Ling Feng to dodge the blow, he kept some strength in reserve to maneuver for his next strike.

However, he miscalculated.

The heart of murder clamoring in Ling Feng's chest prevented him from making any move resembling retreat.

Instead of moving aside, Ling Feng tore his clawed hand through sky, and like a pair of divine weapons, sparks flew as spear and hand collided.

"You're all going to die!"

Unsatisfied by his attack, Ling Feng pounced again like a wild beast. He pushed Su Shixiong back with surprising strength, and while the man was unprepared, he arced his hands across his eyes.

Su Shixiong staggered backward and covered his face. It was a decision he quickly came to regret as Ling Feng immediately jumped forward and buried his hands deep into his chest.

"Bang!"

Blood flew in every direction as a slow-beating heart tumbled onto the ground. The surrounding onlookers trembled with fear as the warm liquid painted their faces.

"This… what monster is this?!"

"R-run away!"

Cries of alarm rifled through the night air, nearly muffling the sound of roaring thunder.

The Su clansmen were in a state of chaos. Their city lord had just been killed by this monster, so what chance did they have of making it out of this place alive?

However, Ling Feng did not care for their concerns. After ending Su Shixiong's life, his demonic eyes shifted to Su Lin.

"Damn you!"

With a curse, Ling Feng's form became a bloody shadow as he sprang at her. Even though his consciousness was fuzzy, he still had enough sense to recognize the person he hated the most, the person he most wanted to kill.

"Die! Die! Die!"

In the blink of an eye, Su Lin found herself on the ground, watching in horror as blood-stained hands tore into her flesh, robbing her of life little by little.

In this moment, her final moment, she began to regret framing the youth on top of her. If she hadn't so harmed him, her family would not be facing this monster he'd become.

Unfortunately, it was too late!

Tonight was doomed to be a night of blood and death!
