I let out a laugh, the moment I realize I'm inside my secret chamber within the palace. I'm wearing the exact clothes I wore the night I met Fie, who was pretending his name was Zheng. Without a second thought, I rush out not stopping until I'm inside Luna's tea house. Remembering where Zheng's room was, I run past the attendant up the stairs down the hall and straight into his room.
Zheng and the fake Crown Prince sit at the center of the room drinking tea, they both look confused by my sudden presence.
"Fie," without thinking I wrap my arms around him, he stiffens I clearly caught him off guard. The fake Crown Prince lets out an enormous belly laugh, he topples backward rolling on the floor with laughter.
"What's wrong with him?" I pull back enough to look down at Fie, who seems to borderline, between annoyance and confusion.
"You're the first outside our family, to catch my brother off guard," Luna closes the door behind her as she walks into the room.
"Luna," I let go of Fie and hug her, "I'm so glad to see you."
"I'm going to need you to explain," Luna pats my head sending a flicker of magic towards the laughing male, "Roan don't be rude."
Roan sits up and wipes tears off his face, "I'm not sorry, you should have seen the look on his face when called him by his name and hugged him."
Fie lets out a low growl but Roan just laughs, "so annoying," with a wave of her hand Roan is sitting still hands clawing at his sealed lips, "it'll wear off in a few minutes, now care to explain."
I take a step back uncertain as to how to begin, "I went through the eight levels of the Underworld, the Bridge of Eternity twice, and still possess all my memories of what once was. Long story short I need your help to ensure my sister doesn't die along with the removal of Elena.
"Oh yeah and we're Mates I got that realization while in the Underworld along with this one," I close my eyes and let her free, I should have listened to Master but I was too cocky thinking I could use the Soul Splitting technique for so long.
Someone sucks in a breath when I open my eyes, I find my other half standing before me. If you look closely Elena's curse isn't really a curse Anastasia looks more like a dryad with curved horns.
"I had no right to imprison you," I say, "by the time I returned you had gained a conscious of your own, a life. I don't expect you to forgive me," I take the emerald I snatched from my secret chamber as I ran here and place it where her eye should be. Without asking Luna places her hands over Anastasia's head warm glowing magic engulfing her until the scars disappear, the emerald turns into an eye, her teeth are no longer decayed and her hair is as onyx as mine used to be.
Sometime before I came back my hair turned snow-white when I merged with Anastasia my hair returned to its original color but with her free, it's turned to this.
"Leave the horns," Anastasia says, "I've grown fond of them."
"My sins are many starting with using you to take on Elena's curse for me, the moment she's dead I want you to be Queen."
"Let me get this straight," Roan steps forward, "you used the soul splitting technique and allowed your soul to gain a life of its own?"
"That wasn't my intent," I say, "but yes, she was me and, in a way, the true Anastasia, call me Camilla."
"And you knowing who I am has something to do with time travel?" Fie asks.
"It's not time travel," I say, "rebirth."
"With all your past memories?"
"Yes."
"So, you were reborn into the past somehow."
"It's confusing I know," I take his hand into my own, "out of everyone I would have expected you to understand."
Fie pulls his hand free, "forgive me if I'm not easily convinced, but I just find it hard to believe," he cloaks himself in darkness and vanishes.
"Prick," I say turning to Luna, "will you help me save Amaranth?"
"I helped you fake her death," Luna says, "what do you think?"
