I unloaded a couple of rounds into him and while my team was suppressing the enemy, I shot him in the head to double-check he was KIA and we proceeded to blow up our explosives planted earlier and make our escape.
All of a sudden, the enemies' reinforcements had somehow cut us off by flanking us by crossing the mountains. So as to save my team, I decided to stay back and suppress the enemy to slow them down. (I know this is a cliche but deal with it) I sprayed with my weapon, emptying it. The hot brass spitting out like vomit, steam rising from the weapon, the loud booms, and the flashes as bright as a miniature sun. The returning fire of the enemy, the cracks of the bullets flying by you; such an amazing thrill.
'Ahhhh', what a life it has been. Maybe I did ok. Yeah, I definitely did ok. By now, I was on my last magazine and would not hold any longer. "Phoenix to Base" "Go ahead Phoenix" "Drob a bomb on my location now" "A-are you sure?" "I am sure. Tell my team I will miss them" (Cliches but yeah read it thx) "10-4 Dropping now on your position"
3rd Person Narrator: A drone circling above watching the scene unfold. Flying at 30,000 feet gleaming within the sun's rays. Fully armed with bombs and missiles able to destroy anything in its path. Then as the drone flew on, a bomb, fell from its place. Dropping down guided by lasers and GPS, it fell towards his position as he sat there awaiting death as the enemy continuing shooting at him.
It was if it was slow motion. The bomb seemed to be shining like a star as it flew. Its tip, its body, and its fins seemed to be looking right at me. I closed my eyes upon awaiting death. A bright flash came and was gone within a second. It was at that moment I died… or so I thought? The moment I opened my eyes, I smelled a burnt scent and the feeling of heat was all around me. I heard shouting behind me as I sat beneath a tree. I am dead right? So where am I?
