Travel Log - Week 5: Paddyville

Somewhere in the wood, there was a modern-looking carriage on the middle of the road. The carriage moved not too fast, and it was surrounded by several big human-looking ninjas.

Inside the carriage, Azim was laying down on his comfy bed with his headphone on, while watching Haikyuu anime. During recent weeks, Azim started to watch more anime than playing games. He watched several top animes, but most of them are not to his liking.

~Azim POV~

'Naruto, 74 episodes in. Meh, not my type, but I will keep watching it. Not interested in going to Naruto world. The favourite character so far is Choji. His screen time is short, but I like his character design and personality.'

'One Piece, already at episode 127. I like it. Definitely will visit One Piece world. The favourite character is Usopp. He is more like me, and I can relate to him in many scenarios.'

'Dragonball, there too many fighting incidents happened here and there, and there are lots of weird regulations in this world. Seriously, I need to 'hire' ninjas to be my strong bodyguards to move around, or else the bandits or gangs will come knocking on my door. There was a moment I nearly escaped from being labelled as a killer, after nearly killed a deer. That deer was a sentient deer or a humanoid deer, and if I actually killed him, I will be locked up in jail. What to expect from a dog president? Favourite character? Definitely the kind Launch. She's a soft-spoken girl.'

'Haikyuu. Currently 18 episodes into the series. I like it, definitely will visit there. I love football, and now volleyball is on my list too. My favourite character is Kenma. He's so cool and collected.'

*Knock knock*

My sweet time was disturbed by the knock. From my sensing ability, it seems that we already reach a small village. This is the fourth place I reached after 5 weeks in this world.

I got out from the carriage, and what greets me was a nostalgic sight of golden colour paddy field right and left of the road.

'Man, I miss my hometown so much.'

The carriage was put into the inventory, and the ninjas were sent back into the shadow.

I walked to the village, with new clothes. I wore my orange-yellow Barcelona 2012/13 away jersey with my name at the back and paired with Nike sweatpants. So comfy.

Then, I saw a little boy with a blue horizontal stripe shirt while holding a toy wooden short sword. He looks so happy running towards where I stood.

Boy: "Hey, are you a merchant?"

We stare at each other for a while. And I just smile at him.

"No, handsome boy. I only sell fish and meat. But, I will give you this!" (while showing the Nike EPL football).

Boy: "Woah! What is that? Is that stone?"

"No handsome boy. This is called football. You can kick it around, it's quite light. So, what's your name boy?"

Boy: "My mom and dad called me Baby. Hihihi."

"Can you take me to the village head, Baby. I promise I will give you my toy if you show me the way." I spoke to him while pinched his chubby cheek.

Baby: "I know the way to grandpa Capi's house. I have a friend staying there. His name is Kifo. He is the coolest friend I have. He has lot of toys and ..."

I just smiled and listened to Baby all the way to the chief's place. The house was not so far from the main gate. It took 5 minutes to reach the location.

Along the way, I can see some workers in the paddy fields. The way the villagers live their life here, I can infer they have a wonderful life.

Baby: "Ahh! Kifo has a new toy! Show it to me!"

Suddenly the boy screamed and run as fast as he can towards the direction of a boy, supposedly Kifo, beside a house.

Kifo: "Hey Baby. What are you doing here? Why are you holding my wooden sword?! That's why I can't find it anywhere around the house. Give my sword back."

Baby: "We can talk about sword later. But, what is it that you holding just now? Show me! Show me!"

I watched the boys for a while and decided to break their 'serious' conversation.

"Hello, cute boy. Is the village head's house here?"

The boy Kifo looked at me for a moment and then went inside the house. After a minute, an old man came out of the house, which I believed he was the leader of this village.

Village head: "Hello young man. I am Grandpa Klop, the chief of Paddyville. It's rare for a guest to visit my small village. My grandson told me you want to meet me."

"Greeting Grandpa Klop. My name is Azim, and I'm a tourist. I want to stay in your village for a week before I continue my journey. Oh, and sometimes, I will sell fresh meat and fish in the early morning. I hope Granpa Klop will accept my visit."

Klop: "Hohoho.. Come. Let's have a chat inside. Don't stand here, it will get hot soon. Kifo, go make drinks for our guest here."

Even it was only a moment, but I am truly happy being served with this hospitality. Without further ado, I followed Grandpa Klop and Kifo into their humble home.
