Information

As I am about to move, I stop and ask Rick.

"Hey Rick?"

"Yeah?"

"Which way is north?"

"Check your compass. It's in your bag."

I bring my bag to the front and dig around for a bit. "Ah here it is." I open it up "Lets see. North... There we go." I correct my direction and start moving.

"Man I wish I could use my phone. At-least I could figure out the directions if i had some signal."

"That's a good point. I'll bring this up with the administrator when i report to him later. Anything else you want me to ask him?"

"No, not yet. But I would like some information about this world, If you don't mind."

"Sure, go ahead."

"Where exactly am I?" I ask curiously.

"Right. So right now you're in the continent of Mirias. This continent is divided into 5 regions, or countries if you will. Vovaria in the north, Cadil in the middle, Boro in the west, Ratta in the south and Irinza in the east. There are two more continents on either side of Myrias. There's Wesaria in the west and Easaria in the east. I'll tell you about those later."

"Weird names. So where am I now?"

"Right now you're in the country of Ratta. The country is pretty decent- Ahh, we're almost at the lake, keep an eye out and turn slightly to the left."

"Ok"

"-As I was saying Ratta is a decent country, in the sense that's it's a diverse country, The people here are pretty much accepting of everyone with the exception of Half of Easaria. Heed my warning Sid, Be careful what you say when bringing up Easaria."

"Why? What happened for the rift to become so big."

"Invasion."

"So one or few of the countries from Easaria decided to invade Ratta but failed. Makes sense they would be bitter about it."

"Spot on. "Rick said, amazed. "How come you figured out all that with just one word.?"

"As a bartender you need to have sharp ears and good listening skills. Some random chatter you hear maybe what fuels up another guest. Various talks with various guests about various topics lead to a lot of things you were never supposed to hear. I worked for every kind of guests: Poor, rich greedy, social outcasts, bullies, victims, political or plain homicidal. It's my job as a bartender to figure out what the guest wants to say. They may say something but his body says something else."

"You sound like a learned person, Maybe apply for a position in the court you may get a chance to earn a title of nobility."

"Nobility? what era is this? Middle Ages?" I ask, surprised.

"Kind of. Magic, knowledge and personal strength is what works in this world. If you have none of those you're worth nothing."

"Don't forget money." I added.

"Ehhhhhhh.... look at smarty pants getting all philosophical here." He says in an easygoing voice.

"shut up." I reply with a flustered tone. "Anyways I see the lake, lets freshen up for a bit and then leave."

"Sure, go ahead. I still got an hour. I'll teach you about magic as well."

"Nice."
