Going Back

"No," Lillian said, walking away from him.

"No? Why not?" Michel asked, following behind her.

"The author thinks I am not smart enough to figure this out on my own. That's the reason why you two are here, for exposition." She said, accusingly pointing at them.

"Author? What are you talking about Lillian?" Aurora asked, sitting by the window, elbow resting on the window stilt and head resting on her hand.

"That doesn't matter. I am not going to listen to what you have to say. I will try and figure it myself." Lillian stubbornly said.

"There is no time for that." Michel tried to insist, growing infuriated with her.

"Look, I know what you are trying to do but I don't want the author pitying me. I will do this all myself."

"Getting help isn't always a bad thing, Lillian," Aurora said, smiling at her. "I don't know what you are talking about but I do understand a little bit of it. You can't do everything on your own."
