Mother

"I am fine." She could hear a soft sob coming from the other side of the line, the woman's voice is also quivering. "And you?"

"I am fine too." Lillian chuckled, "I just called to ask if you are all fine there."

"Of course. We are fine." The woman laughed as well. "Have you been eating well? How is it over there?"

"It is alright." She shrugged. "A little warmer than where you all are though. Do you have enough blankets for everyone there?"

"We have more than enough, Lillian." She said, "You always send us more than we could need."

"You always like to give away whatever you have. I need to make sure you have enough to be able to do that." Lillian laid on the bed, looking out the window below her apartment to see the fog-filled city with specks of rain.

"It is always nice to give. As I always say, 'He who can give more-'"

"Has most." Lillian continued, unable to hide the smile that came on her face. "You never change."
