Kidnapped

"You ... are scary," Roman said nervously as they walked out of the room and past the guards that nodded at her approvingly.

"I will do what I can to help them if I need to," Lillian said, smiling at him. "But I am not always like this."

"I am just glad that you are on our side," he said, smiling slightly. "But ... how were you able to know what to do?"

"What do you mean?" Lillian asked, gathering her skirts as they walked down the stairs.

"You knew what to say and how to behave and he believed that you were the king," Roman said, slightly bewildered. "How did you do that?"

"That was all the magic, your majesty," Lillian said bluntly. "I hardly did anything if you look at it properly."

"I would not dismiss your skill that easily, Lillian." He said, thinking to himself.

"No, really. It is just magic. I only did a little bit of it." Lillian said, feeling her step sway and almost fell down the stairs.
